BrianAure's Application Submission

I was permitted to repost my fix in 2 hours according to BuBbAKLuTcH.

Don's read this: Everything here is written by me with the help of my, the forum plugin spell check, a Grammar Checker application and a pocket Merriam dictionary, to confirm words. I just spent another extra eight hours working on this thread. Most I ever wrote in the past week. So I'm going to reread my application until I get it to where I like it. This is actually fun :)

Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: BrianAure

How old are you?: 17

Time-Zone: (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time

Country of Residence: United States of America

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Yes, I am a fellow AP (Advanced Placement) English III student, and I can relate to majority of the words in the English language.

Self-Description:

I am a kind individual, who expresses a beautifully tranquil aura everywhere I go. I learn from my past mistakes and rework on the same thing over and over again until it is perfect, sort of like a perfectionist. I play Minecraft 2-4 hours a day, because have a busy life, but during the summer I'm planning on committing to my job and obtaining community service hours, while playing this Minecraft Server as a way to cope with stress.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

As stated as above, I play Minecraft 2-4 hours in a daily basis, but since summer is down the block, my leisure time has increased. I can advance my Minecraft leisure up to 3-6 hours a day..

What do you know about Role playing?:

In my perspective, Role playing is a mixture between Realism and Fantasy. Roleplaying games help the player open up to diverse things in life, and act out things in a formation of mental images that enters their fantasy.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

Based on my observation and past experiences in this genre of gaming, most of the Roleplaying I've experience are extravagant amounts of dungeon scenario game-play, where you Level up and upgrade your skills. It was basically a "Grinding" game, but it had some fun counterparts to back it up, like a brief story line about the character and an in-depth quest lines that made it worthwhile.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

I've done a brief research for a good one hour, and Meta-Gaming is defined as information out of character or non-known knowledge depicted out of a character background/skills. The Role-player does not act/play the way as the character was attended to be used, usually to gain an unfair advantage. Basically, Meta-Gamers use outside reference to make the game easier for themselves. Having unconditional information spread, causes flaws in the games, and makes the Role-Play pointless, since no one would do a certain quest if they know the outcome or no one would PVP if they knew they would die instantly. Although, it destroys the balance of the game, people still find it easier as an advantage; besides the fact the ratings of the game would experience harsh criticism because they let that one problem off the hook. Though, I can say that some rules are meant to be broken, since sometimes a certain activity is self-explanatory to the player, but the in-game character isn't supposed to know it until 5 years from gameplay. Of course greed would most likely overpower time, since its common in the human race, and in the lives of many role-play characters.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is:

Power-gaming is the act of using unreferenced knowledge upon skills/weapons/tools in gameplay to gain an advantage in-game. It's like looking into the flaws of a skill/feature. Most of the time people just look for an indestructible or powerful job in hopes of over powering other players. Therefore, Power-gaming is a word to define players who pick a certain feature/race/etc, and depict their certain race/class on their functionality, while classifying them better at the game opposed to the other races/classes. This disrupts the balance of the game, and leads to wide-spread debates on which job is better. The role-player won't be able to appreciate what race/class they are because others are bashing off and showing off their "inferior race/class". Also, Power-gamers can use unlawful advantages against a player, while opposing against them without reason or a reaction. TLOTC punishes players who partake on these unlawful actions. So stabilizing the game and rules are important.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I can view it as something way more than the 'standards of gaming'. "The Lord of the Craft" showed a heap of creativity and a pleasant gameplay. I would expect a lot of the different jobs and their different play-styles. When I saw that each race fits their own story and has their own style of game, including different regions, I was easily impressed, and it got me to look more into this server.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I played on other servers called "Crafted Movie". The server was good, but it ceases to amaze me, the community was somewhat immature (though, some were nice), and my stress accumulated there because people can't abide by the rules.(I kept getting spawn killed... at spawn by trolls.)

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have thoroughly read through the rules and without any objections, I agree.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws?: As said above, I Agree to the Rules and promise to stay by them.

How did you hear about us?: I heard about it by the official "TheLordOfTheCraft" channel, and by "Scuttles" in his Minecraftforum thread "LB PHOTO REALISM". He advertised the server.

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet?: Yes, My TLOTC Application in Minecraft Forum

He likes having fun and expressing emotions of happiness to all around him even in boundaries that expose deep treat. What he doesn't like is the fear of in denial, his one and only greatest struggle. His journey started after his coming of age, where he desired a more isolated area to learn more about the secrets of Asulon and his race. There are many secrets out there, like the ancient language of the Elvens, but due to it being accused an illegal language

Well, that didn't work out; he had to deal with countless enemies on a daily basis. It was a stressful life expressed with deep melancholy, things had to change. The day after his significant struggles in the woods he discovered a lost book, and out of nowhere he was raided by a group of bandits. As terrifying as it seems, "stuff happened". The bandits surrendered to the wrath of the High Elves. The High Elves took notice of Shin and opened their arms to him. The leader Elf rendered "There is no point in being an individual through your life. You need help and we are willing to offer it."

It was the beginning fall when that happened. Time past and Shini lived in luxury, as he learned the Arts of many different survival techniques, and an art that changed him mentally, physically, and psychologically. It was the art of Defense. In his readings, he found out that defense is essential for survival, and without it, his offense is nothing more than a hopeless strategy full of mindless attacks to slaughter the life out of his enemy. Shini continued living in the houses of the high Elves in peace.

Open-Response-Questions:

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?:

In some cases like this, I tend to talk out the issue with the aggressor, and try to create a peace treaty with them. Although, by looking at their unethical behavior against a small critter, I would do the exact opposite, and be the aggressor of the aggressor, meaning I would use guerrilla tactics to try to get a head start and attack them. It was a fail plan they notice me from behind and tried to assault me even when I tried to tell them that I am partaking in defense measures to protect the halfling. The battled started, and I blocked their first attack with defense I attack them horizontally, and bashed their heads against each other leaving them semi-unconscious. All this just to save the poor innocent halfling from harassment. I noticed he was knocked out way before I saved him so I didn't have the time to talk to him. So I talked to the half unconscious armed warriors, and stated "THE CLOUD TEMPLE IS A PEACEFUL NATION! I will not tolerate those who commit to violence." As I move away from them, I stated "I will enforce the ways of the Cloud Temple and spawned out the upcoming monks who were carrying the injured small halfling and the two armed men. While in the temple, the halfling was put in critical care, and the armed men were also were treated. The monks wanted the reason's for this, and I told them the situation about the halfling being harassed by those two armed men. Also, I asked for them to be punished for breaking the law of "No Combat/fighting within city limits, including the fact that it was around cloud temple." It was a deep violation to the laws, so I had to step in and do what is right.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well-dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?:

"Oh! Hello, nice day to you too, I see you're selling clothes and weapons? Well sure, you're going to sell it to me, are you? HAHA! Ok, I would like to buy that one, its flamboyant colored fabric and design, fits the season well." Out of nowhere, right before I bought it. I saw an unfamiliar wanted dead or alive poster with the man I was talking to, right on top of the fabric shop display to my right. So I instantly denied his offer with an excuse, yelled bandit and ran to the a safe spot. Luckily, I was safe and in good condition. According to the poster, It looks like he is worth 50 gold and he was wanted for treason. So I got my bow and arrow and within the 5 second delay I had to wait when reloading my arrow. People took notice of it, and whispered, "It's the bandit. Yea that's him. We better do something!" Sadly I missed... That action gave him the chance to throw out his shield. I shot him countless times, just until he took an arrow to the knee and was unable to walk. I was able to drag him to the prison/officials and obtain my 50 gold. Also, I got some information about his league of bandits who were dressed up in stolen gentlemen's clothing to partake in espionage against the High King and its Alrasian Council. I noticed in a free world, not everyone can be honest.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

While entering the abandoned hut, I notice a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. Suspicious as it seems, I look around and see an opened incinerator, and shoes in front of it. Deep inside there was a remainder of a skull to the side of the incinerator. I was astonished, as it seemed there was an act of homicide in this small hut. "In deep respect, I shall acknowledge those who risk their lives to obtain these items." *obtains the golden sword only* I leave the iron ingots in the chest because I am not classified as a villain to society so I will rightfully respect it's owner and leave the ingots next to the chest. As I exit the chest I looks out for traps, while using sneak to stay hidden. I successfully exited the hut, but the world will never know why the unknown person killed thyself.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, and how do you respond?:

"Thank you people of the forest, I am from the higher lands and I've fallen into the deep unknown. I feel very grateful you've come to rescue me from such intimidating location. May I request for your finest food, since I speak the native tongue as your people, I wish to talk with your navigator and make business with the traders." As I enter the trading camp, I get an efficient loot of supplies. Then I went outside the camp to set up a farm to grow wheat in addition to instantly grow it faster with bone marrow I obtained through defeating the undead. It is about midnight now, and I requested to stay indoors until sunlight.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying in. The town guards have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offers their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Redirecting to the leader, "I will solo them, the people who helped me through such disastrous time, shouldn't waste their time with the lowest of life. All I request is guidance out of this unknown forest and supplies for a trip home." Once I stepped out of the town and caught the bandits’ red-handed hunting bears, so I throw out my diamond sword and run towards them with rage. With enough rage I was able call them out and cut into their inner-skull, causing a fatal death. While blood squirts out of the dead body, I sought redemption in all ways to face the rest of the bandits who retreated. They seemed to have settled 30 blocks away from the town, so i sneak into the hidden, then sprinting to their lair. It seems their leader was just out in the open practicing an unknown fighting style causing an unpredictable paranoia within me, to rise up. Should I attack him or should I not? I decided to attack him, but not just straight to him, I thought of taking a stand and burning their wooden lair, well that was too crude, so I tried my best to lure some bandits outside, and burn down their lair. Half of the group of bandits were trapped inside left to burn, and I had enough time to warn the people and start the raid on the bandits. There where 10 prisoner that resembled the traders of the camp 10 blocks away from the lair, so I was able to free them after the burning of the bandits.
