Hi there

Just a post to say hello. :)

Im Deverant ( Real name Alex, charactername not yet decided)

A few friends and people I know have mentioned they are looking at this minecraft server so I have looked too and really like the look of it and so plan to make an application and really looking forward to "hopefully" getting to play on this server.

Ahead of my application (which I want to spend time over) this is a bit of an intro for me:

A little about me:

Im 37, married to a great girl and have a wonderful son together.

I work in architecture, but its on a technical level so please dont think I am a great designer who can produce minecraft miracles, hehe, im not that at all, though I enjoy minecraft building.

Hobbies:

I have a lot of hobbies, I tend to concentrate on a few main ones and the others I hop between.

Hobbies include: computer gaming, roleplaying, tabletop gaming (warhammer and most games-workshop products, heroscape, heroclix and many others), archery, airgun and airsoft shooting, Dr Who fan, fishing, model-making and painting, rc-cars, bike riding, comic-books, reading (fantasy and sci-fi,, favourite authors being Terry Pratchett, David Eddings, Raymond E Feist, Robert Jordan, David Gemmell, Larry Niven, Frank Herbert and many more), and there are other hobbies too, but listing them all would take forever. I like hobbies.

Roleplaying:

I have roleplayed a little online, but mostly tabletop form. This including Shadowrun, MERP, Rolemaster, AD&D, Fighting-Fantasy (the team RP as well as the solo gamebooks), Timelord.

I also have other roleplay systems Ive read but not tried yet, such as the Dr Who Fasa roleplay, Gurps (including Discworld expansion), Vampire Masquerade, World-Of-Warcraft expansion for D&D.

Media:

I love famtasy and sci-fi TV as well as Dramas. So anything Dr Who, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica etc is a love.

I also love cartoons, mainly 80's and early 90's such as: Dungeons & Dragons, Ulysees31, Thundercats, He-Man, X-Men, Justice League, Batman Beyond, Battle Of The Planets, M.A.S.K, Transformers, Visionaries etc etc.

Music:

Tend to love allsorts, pop, classical, soundtracks, rock, dance, ambient, trance etc allsorts really.

Computer Games:

I have played many many, from my commodore Vic-20 to my Commodore C64 (loved it) then Amiga-600 and onto PCs.

Love World of warcraft, FPS such as Halflife 1 and 2, Portal, Diablo 1, 2 and 3, Star Trek Online, Arkham Asylum, Left4Dead, DCU Online, and many others... with of course Minecraft.

Minecraft:

Been playing minecraft now for over a year. I enjoy mining mindlessly (dont owrry I wont destroy the worldscape underground) and enjoy building structures a lot. I love the idea of integrating it into a RP culture.

Soooo, I think thats a good snapshot of me. I want to be able to read into the lore and background for a bit before feeling ok to make my application. So after reading the wiki for a day and a bit (when time and work allows) I now plan to lurk around the forums a little and work up into my application and keep my fingers crossed I can squeeze it hopefully through your good standards to play on your server.

welcome, I can definitely attest that he's married to a great girl, because that would be me. Glad to see you came along, now if we can only get your own application sorted out as well as finding you a nice skin I think we can get you all set.

Yay! Family time in LOTC! Do you plan to rp as a family?

We actually do have a little family, however Jack is a little too young to be role playing just yet, however he really likes your site. He spent several hours climbing on and off my knee today while I worked on my application, sadly pressing my keyboard and inserting vowels everywhere. Bless him, he's only three.

My self and my husband will no doubt be playing together, as well as lot of people who are incoming from our gaming community the Intrepid Society. However I have broken from tradition as I really wanted to play an elf, and fit into factions and charters already in development. They have plans to start a eastern culture type charter and I didn't really want to do that.

However I am hoping I still will get to role play with them, as for this week I have plans to get Nimshae Moonwind her own blog site up to catalogue all her creative writing, as well as getting a character portrait painted as my avatar and a signature image.

It would also be a good idea to set up the fancy profile page that we get here, it's so bright and shiny...and depressingly empty *grins*

Sarah has summed up a lot in her post there just above me :)

I am now starting to think about my character and my application. Just so you know, it will be my best but will NOT be as good as Sarahs :) she has a talent. Hoping it will be good enough though and if-not, then I will keep trying and taking advice :)
