Ilikefooddude 430 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: ilikefooddude How old are you?: 14 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Australia, Australia EST Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I am an adequate speller. I can spell most things right on the first try, and I don’t usually come across words I can’t spell. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a fourteen year old boy who lives in the Australian state of NSW. I love going to school, and learning new things there. My favourite subject is science and I’m probably going to do chemistry as an elective when I reach year 11. Minecraft is an enjoyable pastime for me. I play it about 2-4 hours a day but sometimes I cannot due to soccer, my favourite sport. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Up to 20 hours per week would be a fair estimate. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is when you choose a character with certain traits and abilities, the normal roleplay area is around medieval fantasy time. As you continue roleplaying, your character progresses, and certain traits may become prominent, as well as your character gaining a higher reputation in anything you can imagine. Roleplay to me, is a type of freedom hard to get anywhere else. I love creating a character and watching him grow and flourish. The friends he makes, and the enemies he has provoked. Roleplaying can be happy, filled with times of joy, or deathly depressing, your friends dying around you and your enemies closing in. Roleplay is an experience like no other to me, it brings me happiness through freedom. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have been on at least two main roleplay servers that I can recount in my time in minecraft. These servers aren’t small, stupid roleplay servers. I know for a fact I have been playing on the land of Yalin, now to be the land of Olvin, for at least 10 months now. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta gaming is the act of in character, knowing something that your character cannot possibly know. This includes names, languages and any other information that you have not been told in character. Meta gaming is usually used by people with little to no roleplay experience. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power gaming is the act of doing something in character which is unstoppable or impossible to do. Forcing people to do something or instantly killing people are examples of common powergames. Powergaming is used by people, usually who want more power. The act of powergaming can be accidental though, so the punishment for doing so should be regulated according to the situation. What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server to be a full on roleplay experience for me. I expect to be able to get almost straight into the roleplay and make some friends, and more enemies. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on the land of Yalin/Olvin, which is a small roleplay server. This does not mean however, that it does not have good roleplay. I left because it is going to shut down soon, which is a tragedy for me, having played on it for 10 months now, I have come to be good friends with the people on it. I have also played on CraftHammer, a rather big roleplay server with amazing roleplay. Unfortunately, it has been offline for about a month now. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I have. The rules are just, and I agree on all of them, as they are a necessity on every roleplay server. Some of the rules include: No Metagaming No Powergaming No Griefing No building of non-rp buildings No destroying of the environment Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I promise to abide by the rules of the server and the forum, as they are fair. I also promise that I will not avoid punishment on the act of breaking them. How did you hear about us?: I friend from the server land of Olvin, told me that he was going to play on LotC. I asked what it was then decided that I would like to apply for it. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have made an application before. It is HERE. In-Character: Character Name: Murtz Ugluk What Race are you?: Orc What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Nomadic orc Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Murtz is a 16 year old orc of the Ugluk clan. He has been in the clan ever since his mother,Marshkem, rejected him and his sister Ghorza. His farther Ghazkull said that it was because she wanted to keep fighting, as she was a great warrior and didn’t want to waste her time rearing cubs. So Murtz and his sister were left with their father. The only other family they had was their cousins and uncle. Mokrag is a wise man. Along with Murtz and Ghorza, his children seek advice from him as well. His daughter Yaztra and his son Zagstruk have both been training with Murtz and for their whole lives, and it has become a competition for all of them. They fight together and seek strategies from Murtz uncle. Usually the one that follows his advice most precisely wins the everyday duels that they have, using swords, axes and shields as weapons. Murtz enjoys these duels, and thanks to his uncle’s battle advice and training everyday with his sister and his cousins, Murtz has become a capable warrior. Murtz farther, at first, intimidated him. He was of massive stature, even though in orc standards he was slightly taller than usual, he was the strongest orc Murtz had ever seen and he obeyed everything he said, to avoid his wrath. But over the years, Murtz grew up to his current 7ft and now views his father as an equal, and his farther now respects him as a fellow warrior. One of the few people who respected him while he was younger, his Aunty, Kit'a, became very sick. She killed herself to protect her cubs, and Murtz as well. Murtz, hardened by loss, has now become to look like a real orc. His brown hide and medium sized tusks are his main features, but his muscles would stand out to humans. Murtz is about the same strength as an average orc. Although, this is enough to send most of his human challengers running as they see the 7ft tall orc, with muscles bulging as he marches along with his massive war axe, which is his favorite weapon, carried over his shoulder. Murtz, like all orcs, suffers from bloodlust. He will never turn down a fight, which may one day cause his some trouble. Murtz is kind enough to the people he knows, protecting his sister if she gets herself in to trouble, which is a common occurrence. Murtz loves running as well. He is the fastest out of the group of relatives and this, with the power he can swing an axe with; can prove deadly to many unsuspecting challengers. War approaches his clan soon, and Murtz wishes nothing more than to prove himself to his forever waiting uncle, who wishes to always see his advice put to work. (I have organised my position with another member of the Ugluk clan.) What are your Character's ambitions?: Murtz wants nothing more than to impress his uncle and protect his clan from the war. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Murtz favours his powerful axe. Murtz is strong and fast, a deadly combination with a good war axe. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Murtz is a fast runner and excellent with an axe. Not many orcs are faster than him A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Murtz is loyal to his clan and he will protect it at all costs. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small Halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Murtz examines the two badly armed warriors. They are clad in unfinished leather armour, obviously accumulated over time through different means. When the two warriors harass the Halfling supposably for money, they don’t notice the towering figure of Murtz approaching behind them, until his shadow is looming over them. As the warriors finally see Murtz, his 7ft frame dwarfing them while he holds his massive war axe in his one hand, which they probably wouldn’t be able to lift with two, their faces pale with fear. Murtz asks the warriors, “Fite o’ run?” The warriors, seeing that they have only poor weapons and worse armour, compared to the spiked helm and chestplate Murtz wore, saw no point in fighting, so they choose the latter and flee. Murtz frowns, showing his disappointment. Then he goes on his way, leaving a surprised Halfling in his wake. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Murtz gives the merchant a steely glance. If there is one thing he hates, its people pestering him to buy their wares. "Azk agen traida, and i elp ya with gettin ma axe inta your ead.'. The trader shrinks back into his store, fear showing across his unworked features. Murtz left the man cowering in his stall and went on his way. For Murtz had more important things to do than scare a weak human. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Murtz is not greedy, but he does love a fight. Seeing the tactical advantages of this being a trap, Murtz bends over, as if to pick up one of the ingots. Swiftly and suddenly, Murtz swings around, his axe slicing through the air and taking the almost assassin, who was about to strike him down, in the hip with his massive axe. Leaving the man groaning and bleeding heavily on the wooden floor, Murtz searches the house for more ambushers he could deal with. When Murtz’ searches came to no avail, he sneered at the dishonorable warrior who was lying dead om the floor, by blood loss, and left the house with his loot. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Youz tradaz go' any food?" Murtz asks. Murtz has no manners to start with, but when an orc is very hungry, which is rare, his stomach will compel him to do impulsive things. The traders feed Murtz in exchange for some lumber work, which he does willingly. The large logs are easy to chop onto pieces with his large war axe. Once Murtz is finally well fed and bored of talking to the traders about the nearby town’s gossip, he heads off and the waved him on his way. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Murtz never turns down a fight. He travels with the armoured guards to the road where the Fiendish bandits were holding up with the three men Murtz was put in a formation with. They were to attack the force of a dozen bandits head on, while the other 14 guards attacked from the back and with bows. The war cry from the head guard sounded, and Murtz and the two other in his formation charged into the bandits, all of them alerted to his presence and armed. Arrows flew overhead, the first volley taking out two of the bandits. Finally, Murtz reached the bandits, slightly before his companions. Clashing with a bandit with a large scar on the left side of his face, Murtz unbalances him with a lightning swing of his mighty axe to the Bandits shoulder. The bandit blocks, but this causes him to be vulnerable elsewhere. With a massive kick to the chest, the bandit goes flying into another, dispatching them both. When he was finished with those two Murtz realised his companions have arrived, one dueling with a nasty looking man with large muscles and wielding a sword, the other, just finished off a skinny bowman. The attack force at the back comes running in, decimating two surprised bandits from the behind, and putting another out of action for the rest of the battle, his hand laying severed by his whimpering body. In a minute, it is all over, Murtz taking out two more Bandits by the end of the battle with his massive axe. 5 prisoner are all that is left of the notorious bandits that had blocked the road out of town. The guard captain thanks Murtz and hand him his reward, a sack of gold. Quite pleased with himself but rather uninterested in the reward he just received, Murtz goes on his way, hoping that word of his deed would spread. Anything else you would like to say?: I would really like to be accepted into the server, Hopefully before the war on the weekend but not a necessity. I think I put a lot more work into my second application. I hope you enjoyed it!
