Quests And Landmarks System In Levanthus

Recommended Posts

It would seem that as the City-States build and rise, order is settled upon the landscape and the peoples are calm within their cultured societies. Travelers, traders, and soldiers make their way throughout the Levanthusan lands as they move goods, peoples, and arms across and within. The City-States, nearing completion will be more open to those who wish to raise land developments and improvements, however; not all is so subtle. With every bright-minded and ascertaining glance towards the progress of mighty City-States and flourishing cultures brings with it troubles and obstacles awaiting to be met with either intelligence and due diligence or poor confrontation and ignorance. From bandits and thieves, to obscure ruins and indulging artifacts, Levanthus sits ready to meet it and those citizenry who are able-bodied and courageous may deal with so best.

Sauros Alanbataar himself has, due to his adventurous Kotansmani discovered that Levanthus sits atop the migration route taken by the Ancient Dervas which eventually, as the oral traditions of the Subudai describe ended within Karik. These are one of many discoveries recently made, much stone has been left unturned, much has been vacant of the roving eye of treasure-hunters, adventurers, and those wishing to prove their mettle against the unknown. Dotting the horizons in which you peer out of as you leave one of the City-States are landmarks intriguing and some simply serving as a way to navigate oneself throughout the lands.

Quest-Lines

Quest-Lines are a newly formed way to allow players to immerse themselves into tasks that involve various needs from the player. Some quests involve menial tasks that may aid a land improvement such as the simple gathering of supplies, only able to be assisted by those players who possess knowledge [the right skill set] to gather these resources properly. Such is that a sawmill would request that certain quotas of logs be gathered, to be shorn of bark and cut into respective parts. Other quests may require multiple peoples to complete them as it thrusts them into forbidding locations crawling with many untouchables and unthinkable opposition; such as the Ravine of the Ankabut. Quest-Lines add a certain flavor to the already enriching experience being sewn and laid out for incoming players.

Such quest-lines will require NPCs to be laid out, their messages being conveyed very clear and fluid as to inform the player what is exactly being told and requested as part of the quest. Rewards can be made to be turned into the player who completes such quest and proper maintenance of quest locations will be made by players who linger throughout. Griefing of a quest location is ban-worthy as well as stealing from chests that are involved in quests considered stealing and ban-worthy.

Landmarks

As you walk the lonely paths throughout Levanthus, much may pique your interests as you find the countrysides, deserts, pastures, forests, and plains riddled with few and far between therein lies landmarks that garner many observers and the observant taking risks on coming near or watching afar. These landmarks may be involved in quest-lines, what they are in essence is a way for City-States to allow their culture to stand vigilant alongside the landscape in which it stands on. Such landmarks may act like lighthouses attracting the wandering souls who come forth into Levanthus and have their hearts stolen by the beauty of the many cultures within, or perhaps stand as warning that the lands we rest upon were already trampled by peoples in the past.

Requesting Landmarks are simpler than quest-lines, but will require the Lore-Master's approval. Building a landmark outside of a City-State's area of control without first posting and garnering approval will result in the Horde tearing it down. These landmarks must have some sort of architecture either derived from one of the City-States or cultures having found residence within Levanthus or having been derived from one of the Ancient Peoples that has been discovered to have resided in our lands. Post Below to offer ideas and wishes to build landmarks, please post a map accompanying your request circling the specified location you wish to build one at.
