racingbrother 226 Share Posted June 26, 2012 Minecraft Account Name: racingbrother Character Name: Lini'Zet Gender: Male Age: 18 (Mori years) 90 (human years) Appearence: Lini has been gifted long, flowing, snow white hair that he often likes to cut and keep trim. His hair is the most striking thing about his appearance. Other than that, he is an average looking Mori male. He has grey skin, just like most other Mori. He also has pale blue eyes. Lini's physique matches that of most Mori. He stands at 5'5 and weighs in at 138 pounds. Personality: Lini is a very introspective person. He thinks of himself very highly, like he should. Since he doesn't talk much, he makes a lot of mental notes, and sometimes even talks to himself out loud. Other than his introspectiveness, Lini has a passion for redstone. He spends most of his time fiddling with small machines he has created. But sadly, he does not share his inventions for he things of them too great for public knowledge. Another important thing is that Lini has an outrageous amount of pride. He hates losing and admitting he is wrong. Trying to get Lini to admit to being worse at something than someone, admitting he was wrong, and anything else that would damage his ego, is just as hard as mining bedrock. Biography: At birth, his parents believed he was destined for greatness. He was their only child and the family wanted to mold him into one of the greatest Mori who had ever lived. They took many precautions to achieve this goal. They didn't let him speak with anyone with a lower social class than them. This was due to the fact that they wanted Lini to believe himself that he was better then the rest of the Mori, and it worked. Lini's childhood was lavished. Since he was born to a wealthy respected family that kept him in good physical and mental shape. He excelled in his education due to the fact that he was taught privately by his mother and father. His parents saw all the potential to become a great person to carry their name through the generations. His parents were nothing but proud at their extremely smart and handsome son. But Lini wasn't proud. He knew he had potential and he knew he had the look but something was missing in his life. He wanted a friend. He wanted to be socially accepted by the rest of his Mori sisters and brothers. He was a nobody who hardly left the house, let alone ever left the Cavern of Menocrenes. He became curious and wanted to experiment and feed his lonely mind. Lini had become depressed with his life and his parents wouldn't help him fix it. So, he gave up everything he knew, and left his parents By this time in his life, Lini was 15 years old. One night, Lini decided enough was enough. His parents had gone to sleep and he was in his room, awake and lonely. Lini snuck over to where his parents kept the keys for their house and snatched them without even rattling them. Lini then opened the door slyly, and saw freedom for the first time in his young life. He was amazed by the things that he saw whilst exploring the Caverns. He met other Mori who never even knew who he was. At the age of 17, Lini was still up to his late night antics and had begun to have made friends. But one night, this all came to a screeching halt. Lini had already opened the door, but left it open a crack. His father came downstairs, while having a restless night of sleep. He saw that the keys were gone, the door was open, and most importantly, Lini had left. His father was outraged and waited until Lini came back. He, his father and mother had a long talk over this unacceptable behavior. and Lini rightfully condoned it. He wished to be a Mori, not a hermit. His parents couldn't believe the argument and believed it was outrageous. His parents continued to argue, but Lini wouldn't give up, so his parents took action. The punishment was swift and harsh. If he wanted to be friends with rats, he could live with the rats. They beat him to the point of which he was a breath within dying and his parents excommunicated him from the house and from the family. He has lived in the streets, lonely, ever since that fateful day. One thing that Lini has learnt since he's been on the streets is his passion for redstone creativity and architecture. Lini had been able to build up scraps of redstone that lay on the street and used them for small inventions. He also fell in love with architecture, admiring, and aspiring to become a master architect for the Mori. Lini's aspirations for the two passions became so great, he decided he had to take action to correct his life and get back on track. Your characters ambitions: Lini's ambitions for the future are to become socially acquainted with other Mori and fit into society as a normal Mori. Above that goal, he wishes to become an architect that serves the Mori in some way or another. But the most important goal is to live his own life, and not be controlled by someone other than his own conscious. ===Roleplay Related Questions=== As your character wanders the back-streets of Menorcress, you sight a cloaked figure lurking in one of the shadowed nook behind the Brothel: a rustle of cloth is heard, and the figure ushers you in with a skeletal finger. The hooded figure imparts information involving a conspiracy to over-throw the House of Miiystra, and offers you a hefty sum of coin to partake in the planned attack. How does your character react? Lini stares blankly at the man not knowing whether or not this is socially acceptable behavior. He goes up to the man and grabs the money signalling he will do the dirty deed. The skeletal figure tosses the large back of minas onto the ground. Lini, who is poor and homeless, dives for the bag and excitedly opens it. His excitement is all but crushed when he took out the contents of the bag. Their were 24 pebbles that made the bag look like it was filled to the brim with minas and a note inside that said to be at a specific place at a specific time. He would get the money after he carried out the deed. Lini thinks harshly to himself and finally comes to the conclusion not to do it. He fears for his life now knowing that what he did was a major crime against the Mori, putting personal gain above Mori gain. He also fear the skeletal figure will come back to kill him for not holding up his end of the deal. Your character finds him/herself watching the Alure d'aphyon: the several fighters within the void maze wield only sticks as they prove their prowess as warriors by battling to the death. One of fighters happens to be a close companion of yours, and you witness him being strategically cornered by three of the other fighters and beaten to death. While the crowd cheers in celebration of the violence, and the death of your friend. How does your character react? Lini feels pity in his heart for that had been his first companion. He sees the crowd cheering to his death and feels some sort of rage towards the Mori for letting such a great person dies. He sits in the crowd, with his hands clenched in fists of rage, and decides he should just leave the stadium. He can't bare to watch his friend bleed to death any longer, so he just walks away, not making himself look outlandish in any way. A screenshot of your skin: (eyes have been edited to pale red.) Respiren 524 Share Posted June 27, 2012 A few concerns jump out at me. Mostly that the biography tells the story of an adult Mori, with a curious upbringing, of the lowest status, described as possessing both enormous amounts and no 'pride' due to loneliness. Traditional Mori are status obsessed and defined by their pride, caring little for social acceptance and inclusion other than as a means to survival and domination. A lot of this status is derived from the prestige of family and nobility. Being without family in Menorcress would [ if the old lore was followed ^^ ] more likely lead to subjugation involving being forced to carve an obsidian house with a wooden pick, than acceptance, inclusion and greatness as an architect. ; ) 'But the most important goal is to live his own life, and not be controlled by someone other than his own conscious. ' This may also be problematic as Mori are also zealous servants of Nemiisae, their eternal Mother. Being fundamentalists, it's her teachings that guide and dictate what would be considered 'acceptable' in the society. I've looked over your previous posts and there's some great examples of architecture and building yet there may not be many opportunities to build in Menorcress besides the very occasional Noble House, renovations, perhaps a temple, or some ruins for events [ooc]. Lini's ambitions for the future are to become socially acquainted with other Mori and fit into society as a normal Mori. It might be profitable to start as someones child character and and have them mentor you on lore via a trial in RP, and by reading of the Mori lore on the forums in detail, in order to develop a character that reflects the Roleplay and activities you enjoy whilst fitting the Mori.
