In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:Meta-Gaming is the use of knowledge through out-of-character channels to change the outcome of events in-game. A good example of this would be chatting with another player in-game through an out of game messenger service, and using that service to correlate in-game actions, like exploring a cave or asking for help fighting a group of spiders. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:Power-Emoting is unfairly using actions in the game to gain an unfair advantage. This can be through acting while the other player is in the act of making a response, using incorrect actions, or using actions that require more extensive actions beforehand. For example, say there are two players, a bandit and a traveler. B: Hand over all of your goods! T: I shall not give you any of my goods. (The bandit begins typing a response, but as he does so, the Traveler types this) T: *Shoots bandit in head with bow and arrow (Not only did the traveler not allow the bandit to make a response, but he used a bow and arrow that he did not pull out in the first place.) (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):I have no sub-race. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): The beginning of Jace's life was a mystery. He was found at the edge of a glade in the Duchy of Pruvia by a trader named Dryst. Dryst brought Tavin back to his home in the small town of Mireton. He raised Jace as his own, but he was always considered an outsider by the rest of the town. His eyes certainly didn't help in curbing his alienation, since their sea-green hue contrasted sharply with the townspeople's typical hazel. As Jace grew, he picked up the tricks and customs of trading from his adoptive father. Dryst also taught him basic swordplay, as well as less reputable skills like lockpicking, sneaking, and concealment. He emphasized, however, that these skills were only to be used as a last resort. Dryst also taught Jace a code of ethics, but shied away from the teachings of all the branches of the Reformed Church, finding them too severe and full of zealotry. These teachings made him kind, forgiving, and naturally trusting. Jace also learned basic history, like the voyage to Asulon from Aegis. More attention was paid to the history of man, as Dryst found it important that Jace know of the idyllic kingdom of Salvus, the political maneuvering of Hochmeister Mirtok in his oath of fealty, and the success of Emperor Godfrey in uniting the three human kingdoms. After passing through the trials of puberty, Jace emerged with a slightly larger than average build, light brown hair, and a narrow face. He also developed an almost unnatural quickness, as well as a gaze that seemed to pierce the soul. Due to being ostracized as a child, Jace was shy and tried to avoid confrontation. However he was fiercely loyal to Dryst. Now, at age 23, Jace had begun to grow tired of the small town life. He was weary of the trickle of customers the trading post serviced. Often as he waited for customers to enter the shop while Dryst was gone procuring new goods to sell from Arethor, he wondered about what laid outside Mireton. He wished for an opportunity to go out into the world and explore. His wish came true in a rather unfortunate way, however. One night, the village guard, Loken, came to the door during supper. He informed Jace that Dryst had been found on the road between Arethor and Mireton, apparently killed by a group of bandits. After selling the shop to a man moving from Greywater in the southeast, Jace packed up his meager belongings and headed down the road to Arethor. What are your Character's ambitions?:Jace hopes to find a level of excitement he couldn't obtain in Mireton. He hopes to see all of the sights that the world has to offer, like the splendor of the elven city of Malinor. However, he hopes to also eventually settle down as a trader in another place after he has explored Asulon, whether it be a hamlet or a metropolis. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):Jace's favorite tool is an axe. He likes its familiarity, as he often was sent to chop wood while Dryst conducted business in the shop. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?Jace's greatest skill is his ability to barter. Having grown up with a trader, he knows when he's getting a good deal or when he's being taken advantage of. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character:Jace secretly wants a friend, since he has never had one before. He's also slightly naive, because he's only seen the small town he grew up in. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? ace immediately confronts the two, because Dryst taught him that everyone deserves equal treatment. The two laugh at him and tell him to step aside, but Jace refuses. When one of the warriors shoves him, he lashes out and manages to break the man's nose before the two descend upon him and beat him. As he endures the beating, the halfling scampers off. Later, despite a busted lip, a black eye, and multiple bruises, Jace is glad he was able to help the halfling. He wishes he’d had a sword, though, as he felt he would’ve defended himself better. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Jace immediately adopts the man’s accent, as Dryst had taught him it made people more comfortable. He gives a small smile as he says to the merchant, "Why 'ello to you too, sirrah. I was just admirin' your wares. Sadly I am a bit low on funds, but I'll be sure to come back here if I e'er need anythin'." The merchant seems a bit disappointed, but doesn't chastise Jace as he continues on. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Jace's eyes bulge as the thin light from the window of the abandoned shack glinted off of the iron bars and the hilt of the golden sword. Jace considered his options. He could take the iron bars, he decided. They would be very useful for tools or trading. The golden sword, however, would have to remain. If he was seen carrying that around, Jace knew he would be a target. Not only that, but it would be hard to sell to a merchant. Since he didn't have an established trading base, they would probably think it stolen. Gathering up the ingots, Jace left the hut and continued on his way. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Jace enters the camp with his hands visible, as to prove he is not a threat. "Good day, traders. I appear to have become lost in this wood. Would you mind sparing a bit of food if you have it? Either way, I shall be on my way as quickly as possible and bother you no more." The traders bid him to join them by the fire, and soon a steaming bowl of stew is pressed into his hands. Jace begins to tell one of the many stories he heard from Dryst, and soon an extra bedroll is pressed into his hands. "We would like for you to stay the night, and travel with us in the morning," says the group leader. Jace tries to protest, but the leader merely shakes his head and moves to prepare the rest of the camp for sleep. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Jace approaches the town guard, and clears his throat. The guard captain looks up. "You here to volunteer?" he asks gruffly. "Yes," replies Jace, "I don't have a sword, but I know how to use one if you can supply it." "Swords're over there," the guard captain says tersely, pointing to a small building with a group of guards gathered outside. "Hurry up now, we're going in an hour." Jace gives a polite nod as he moves to supply himself. He briefly questions his decision before brushing the thought away. He knew he would never forgive himself if the bandits attacked the village and he'd had a chance to stop them. Besides, he was decently skilled with the sword, and he felt he could make a difference by volunteering. Anything else you would like to say?: I have not changed much of the basic story of Jace, because I liked its base. I have, however, added more lore and locations as you suggested.
