Well since you are a High Elf, I recommend going to the High Elven city of Haelun'or.

Not only would it make sense lore-wise for your character to go there but they are also looking for warriors/farmers. Since you are an experienced fighter, I'm sure they would love to take you in. I hope this helps you friend.
