Old Customs

In the old days, the Warhawke tribe did not recruit, they did not seek soldiers or workers. They were self-sufficient. Everyone having been born into the tribe. There was no way into the tribe or out of it. Every man and woman was deep-seated with a powerful loyalty to the tribe and it's Chief. They were taught to live together without conflict and to respect others in the tribe.

They were essentially given a 'United we stand, divided we fall' mindset.

It would show in their style of combat, they often fought together and only when they were together, their moves would be harmonious with one another. As if their movements had been rehearsed. It is often joked about that the Warhawke tribe had displayed such unity they could communicate without words.

No evidence has ever been presented to support that claim however.

The Chief of the tribe would always be the first son of of the last Chief, this way the position stayed in the family. Making sure that the Chief always shared blood, no matter how miniscule, with the Prophet.*

They were fanatics of war, astronomy and religion. They viewed warfare as an art form, something to be studied and analyzed. Astronomy was important to all of the Warhawke tribe. The majority of them could head home from anywhere in the land, simply by looking up at the stars. They often carved symbols of the moon or stars into the wooden handles of their axes or bows. Their jewelry was often shaped to resemble the crescent moon or other things one could see if they were to look up at the night skies.

Prophet – The Warhawke Chieftain, the fourth to be exact, who first dreamt of the anomaly. A massive meteor that burned a bright hue of blue. In the Chief's dream, he saw the meteor collide with the ground in a blaze of fire and destruction. “It lit the very air on fire, “ the Chief would say to the young'uns around the campfire, continuing on to give more details.

The Warhawke were very primitive, the fourth Warhawke Chief had not been very educated and the knowledge of meteors was surely not in the possession of anyone at all at the time. Thus, he did not understand that what he'd seen in his dream was a 'meteor' , he referred to it as Heaven's Fire. Simply as that.

The Warhawke tribe believes Heaven's Fire to be their savior. Believing that it's flames will be so great it will purge the very soul of it's sins. Their religion does not stop there however. Oh no.

Orders may be given by the Chief of the village but ultimately, it is said that the Chief takes orders from the Council of the Stars. You know those shiny specks in the night skies? Yeah, the Warhawke tribe finds those holy. They believe them to each be the spirit of a great warrior, influencing events in the land of the living. Dying is honorable to a warrior of the Warhawke as they view it as the Council of the Stars' way of telling them that they have been considering they join the Council. To be immortalized in a magnificent light in the heavens alongside with them was a great honor.

Lapis is holy to them. Over several years, the technique to strengthening the material to be part of an axe has been perfected.

New Customs

Sadly, events occur that force you to stray away from your original intentions. Sometimes things happen, whether you like it or not, that are out of your control. Many of the old ways have long since been forgotten and one doesn't need to be born into the Warhawke tribe to become a part of it.

The majority of the Warhawke tribe's descendants have long since perished. There are very few of Warhawke blood and even less of Warhawke Chieftain blood. The only known being of pure Warhawke blood is Ereinion,.That claim is extremely debatable, however, as the caves have not yet been properly translated. Even more debatable still is his claim of being the first son of the last Chief.

Their fighting style has not changed a bit, new members will be taught to properly co-exist with eachother in order to reach that fabled state in which one will be able to communicate with one's brothers without the use of words.

The sense of strong loyalty and devotion to the tribe and Chief will be enforced still.

The religion has not been deciphered from the walls yet so they do not yet know of the Council of the Stars or Heaven's Fire.

A few Lapis items have been discovered in the caves, leading to discovery that Lapis was revered by the tribe and often used in jewelry, weapons and common tools.

::: SPECIAL INFO :::

::: RANKS :::

THE RANKS WILL BE DECIDED SOON. WE ARE CURRENTLY UNDER GOING A PERSONAL EVENT TO LOCATE HOW THE COUNCIL OF THE STARS WANTED THE RANKS. THIS WILL BE UPDATED SOON.

::: MARRIAGE AND COURTSHIP :::

If you are a mighty Warhawke warrior, you are expected to be married or get married to a strong, beautiful woman. (So no Kharajyr wives. Come at me, Tiazar.) If you are a Warhawke woman, you are expected to marry someone that is already in the tribe. Only men can bring women into the tribe through marriage, women do not have this power.

Sighs of Affection

1 – The touching of foreheads is said to be more intimate in the Warhawke tribe than kissing and even

coitus!

Touching foreheads in the Warhawke tribe is a deep connection with your partner. It is as if you are allowing passage to your partner into your mind. Telling them: “Look into me for a brief moment and see yourself.”

Deep, isn't it? Well that's how much it means to the Warhawke tribe.

2 – The gifting of a feather is a proposal for marriage, however, it is not uncommon for some to secede from this tradition and simply propose the old fashioned way. (A ring made of precious metals.) The feather symbolizes unity, calmness and peace. Handing a feather to your interest will tell them that you wish to settle down with them and have a pleasant life, full of Warhawke children!

3 – Lapis, lapis and more lapis! The more lapis you give a Warhawke woman. The more they're bound to love you. Actually, gifting lapis to anyone in the Warhawke tribe will win you quite a bit of points.

[Work in progress]

Warhawke Life When Married

Males

If you are a male and married. Life will be pretty much the same for you. You will continue to go out and be expected to do whatever your job is. If you are a hunter, you are to expect your wife to provide you with weapons to. If you are a cook, you must expect your wife to assist you. Anything you do, your wife is expected to assist you in.

In war/battle, you are to never show who your mate is. This displays an obvious weak point to the enemy. That means no yelling out: “Jill, my love! Over here!” You will treat them like anyone else. You are allowed to fight side-by-side just do not make it obvious that you are emotionally attached. We wouldn't want the enemy to know exactly who to take hostage right? Of course not.

You are expected to take care of your wife and treat them with the utmost respect. This does not mean you must do everything for her. A Warhawke woman can handle getting her own food and materials. But this does mean that at times you will stay and care for the children. It also means that you must be able to buy and pay for a home for her. She can help you purchase a house but this is often frowned upon. Other Warhawke men will be able to look down upon you and see you as weak.

(That does not mean you can just let them. We're war fanatics, after all. Challenge them to an honorable fight to dispute their claim.)

Women
