She wipes her brow after a hard days working, and leans on her axe, saying three words, and three words only. "This ain't right." She repeats, as if wanting to be heard, although she knows the only other voices here is the wind whistling through the branches of the nearby trees. "This ain't right at all." She shakes her head, and stows her axe, walking to the lumber shed. Quickly, she rummages through the draws looking for some paper. Finding a roll of vellum, she walks outside, and pins to the top of her chopping block, taking in the view in front of her. She takes out her ink and quill, placing them down upon the vellum, deep in thought. After a hour of thought, and a cramp in her leg, she stamps her foot, knocking over her inkwell. She curses and looks down as the ink runs over the paper, dripping off the edge onto her axe. She reaches to grab her axe, before realizing something. The axe, sharp edge turned up, had ink on both sides of the head. She stares at it for a while, ideas forming in her head. She salvages what ink she can, turning over the thick vellum, and looks down at the page, quill in hand. "Yes. That could work. It could indeed." She grabs her quill, and dips it into the ink, and gets to work drawing her observations. "No. It won't work. I'm missing something..." She looks off into the distance, and sees a wolf loping across the field, chasing after a sheep. Usually, she'd run out to help the sheep and beat the wild wolf off - the sheep is probably from Roseus Aquila, after all. She watched the Wolf leap upon the sheep, and a flash of bone - the wolves teeth. Neri widened her eyes and sketched down what a wolf's teeth look like. "Great for cutting flesh... I wonder..." Neri puts away her inkwell and quill, storing them in her bag, and rolls up the paper, walking back to her room. "I'd better show Monk Sahra this in the morning." she says cheerfully, whistling as she walks.
Mordecai Fury 18 Share Posted July 27, 2012 ((Are you looking for an actual redstone sawmill? I dont believe thats possible without a mod... You could create two redstone pistons with a "blade" sandwiched between them. Then alternating current would retract one piston at the same time the other pushed. Repeatedly flipping a lever would cause the "blade" to move back and forth.)) *Mordecai, while walking past the tree farm near the cloud temple, spots some sketches on a desk. They appear to have been left by the impression of a quill. There are small stains where excess ink bled through the parchment. No one is nearby, so he steps up to the table to take a look. Hmmm... Interesting... I could build this.... He makes a mental note to experiment with the contraption later, and then takes out a fresh piece of parchment. He prepares a quill and begins to write.* Hello, I couldn't help but notice this interesting design. I would like to confer with you on it's construction. I will return here to see if you have left a note for me. -Mordecai Fury At the bottom you see a sketch based on the wolf tooth design. Instead of the teeth being perfectly aligned, they are staggered, with every other tooth leaning in opposite directions. A log is fed in using a pully system, and then is forced down over the blades by it's own weight. The design seems to be built for refining massive trees like those found in a jungle.
