How old are you?:

I am 14 years of age, going on 15 in August.

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Pacific Time, United states of America.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

I do believe so. The only problem I have is that sometimes I get words confused. For example: “What seem to be the Officer, problem?” It happens to me more often during speech, but hardly while typing.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

My name is Kyle and I am born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have my scuba diving license and I can play six different instruments. I am addicted to minecraft and Flying airplanes.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

It all depends how busy I am, but most likely anywhere between twenty minutes to two hours a day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is the ability to be someone who you always wanted to be. It is the ability to shed the reality which you live in, and become the persona you have wanting to be. It means to truly let the inner geek be released, and be “yourself” in the world you are prepared to enter.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I have played many role playing games, but with actual roleplay, I do not have any experience so far.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is:

Meta-Gaming is using out of character knowledge to make in character decisions.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is:

Power emoting is the abuse of in game talking when players use emotes to describe an action that takes away the action of another player to respond or prevent it. Example:

*A is stealing from B’s Chest

*B swings a sword at A

It is different from power gaming, because Player A has time to respond to this action.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

the true meaning of a minecraft server

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

I have played Fuzzycraft, Intoxicated, and Killion Detention Center. I left fuzzy because it immensely changed in one update. I left Intoxicated because it was repetitive after a while, same with Killion.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:

Of course.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules:

Absolutely.

How did you hear about us?:

Youtube videos from PetriDaGameNerd.

In-Character:

Character Name:

Laeron Hamon

What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) :

I am an Elf

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):

I am a wood elf

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

In the quite woods of Aegis lays a house. There lives a married couple, but these are no ordinary couple, they’re elves. Here lies the Hamon family, and as we take a closer look, the mother elf seems to be pregnant. This is celebrated, because it is very rare for a female elf to be pregnant. As months passed, the fetus of the elf developed in the mother’s womb, and within a week, Laeron Hamon was born. His skin was a light cinnamon color, with eyes as blue as the ocean. There was one humongous surprise; it seems that Laeron was born with dark brown hair! By the age of twenty, Laeron picked up his first gardening hoe, and helped his father out in the wheat fields. Naturally, Laeron had green thumb, and gave his family great harvest for seventy elven years! All of that changed though. One dark and foggy night, pair of humans were walking about. They were wandering through the forest, and they came across the Hamon house. They did not want to go around the farm, because the property was gigantic. As they crossed through the wheat field, one dropped their torch. A fire the size of a great oak started, and burnt down the farm.

Everything went from bad to worse when the undead war has sprung. Quickly, Laeron built a shelter underground to protect his family, but nothing was easy with doing this. Laeron’s father had to protect the undead with his cobblestone sword, sometimes fending off three at once. As Laeron finished the shelter, he rushed his mother inside without hesitation, but it was too late for his father. Two arrows pierced his father’s skin and killed him right in front of him. Laeron was in shock, and for a while, he sat in the shelter with nothing else but minimal amount of bread and water. As all the resources plummeted, Laeron realized he needed to contact somebody or someone. He hugged his mother goodbye, and grabbed a wooden sword. As he prayed open the shelters door, it swung open and he fell right in the dirt where there used to be grass. He stood up, but then heard rustling in the trees. He went to go find out what the strange noise was, but then it jumped out of the trees, and Laeron swung his sword in random directions. “Woah, somebody could get easily hurt like that. Why don’t you put that away?” To Laeron’s surprisement, it was a fellow wood elf. Laeron spoke, with a wiry voice “What is a man like yourself doing in these parts?” Without anything to hide, the man answered. “We are scavenging enough pieces to build a boat, we are leaving Aegis because it is pretty much gone.” Laeron was surprised with the news. The world he grew up in is gone! “Is there enough room in the boat for two?” Laeron asked. “There is only room for one, I’m sorry. We are departing in the morning. Our camp is five minutes North from your camp. Be prapered.” The wood elf left the scene, and Laeron was devastated with the news.

Laeron went back into the shelter, and told his mother everything. He wants his mother to go with the wood elf to the new land. His mother says, “I’m not going anywhere, I’ve been with this land for as long as I could remember, and the new world is no place for me.” “But mother you must go!” yells Laeron. “It is better for you to go. You’re young, and you need to go explore around a little. Your father would be proud that you are starting new, and I would be too.” Laeron packed his things and hugged his mother goodbye. He went to the camp, and it was exactly where the wood elf told him it would be. Laeron hopped on to the boat, and it departed for the new land. He looked back at Aegis, as this would be a memory for the start of a new beginning. Months have passed, with no sign of land. Then suddenly, he saw it. Filled with vast amounts of trees and life, he couldn’t help but to notice there was actually grass! He landed off the coast, and then went to go explore a little. He went with some wood elves into the woods, and that’s when one declared that there shall be a village built here. After twenty years, a prosperous village sprung, outside of Malinor, the Elven capitol. There Laeron resides with a little farm he built. He is now five-hundred and twenty-one, and he lives there lonely in peace.

What are your Character's ambitions?: Laeron wants to have a very prosperous farm at least a century from now, having workers take care of it while he tries to set up a bread shop in the city. After Laeron is too old for working age, it would please him to wander around Asulon for a few years.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Laerons favorite tool is his cobblestone hoe he made when he was younger. It reminds him of the old times before the farm was burnt down and of his childhood. Laeron has it hanging in his room, because the hoe is too old for use anymore.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Laeron has the talent of farming beautiful and healthy crops. It always seemed that whenever Laeron planted the seed, and took care of the crops himself, they bloomed majestically tall and beautiful. This occurs whenever he is planting in his farm land. No one can determine why this happens, because even though the soil isn’t the best for planting, his crops still grow magnificently. He would just use a hoe, from wood to diamond, and it would be the same every time!

A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: rwide8.png

Other Information about your Character:

Laeron favorite color is Green and he occasionally drinks alcohol as a form of meditation.

Open-Response-Questions

Each and every question must be answered with a minimum of a single full paragraph and entirely in RP.

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?

As Laeron roams around the cloud temple, enjoying how much Asulon has prospered since when he has first landed, he noticed this halfing being harassed by these large armed bullies. Laeron can’t stand for this. He grabs an egg in his inventory and throws it at the right bully. It hit the guard. “What is this? Who threw this!” Laeron playfully whistles as he taunts the warriors. The warriors furious, rush toward Laeron. Laeron turns and runs toward the cloud temple and tries to get attention from other people. “Help, they are trying to kill me! Please help!” Laeron yells. Other armed warriors notice, and try to save Laeron from this attack. A duel happens with the other people and Warriors, and Laeron walks back to the Halfling snickering. “You okay little one?” The Halfling responds “Thank you kind sir! How are you so good at distractions?” Laeron chuckles in a hearty tone. “It something I learned to get the pigs distracted back when I worked on the farm” The Halfling smiles, and walks away with another day to live.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?

Laeron decides to look in the man’s inventory, and decides this is the shirt he is looking for.

Laeron: How much would this shirt be my good fellow?

Vendor: That would be one hundred and twenty minas.

*Laeron sighs, as he realizes he only has a hundred minas.

Laeron: Could you give it to me for eighty?

Vendor: Are you mad? It took me the finest of wools to craft this.

Laeron: well sir, how about I make it a hundred?

Vendor: Well…you seem to be a nice man. I’ll do it this time. You better have enough money next time.

*Vendor gets the shirt from the inventory, and hands it to Laeron with an Intimidating look.

*Laeron smiles, and he gracefully receives the shirt from the man, and walks away.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:

Laeron would stare at the items for a minute, realizing that one day, he could get these items with enough hard work. Laeron finds some dirt from a nearby area and covers the chest with the dirt. To make it even more convincing, Laeron put a small hole on the top of the hut for sunlight to get in. On top of the mound of dirt, Laeron planted a small oak sapling. Laeron put a blessing on the tree to make it grow, then walks away from the hut, hoping that the owners will come back for their items one day.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you in the common tongue, how do you respond?

*Laeron, panting and tired, looks around the camp

Laeron: Good day to you all, I’ve been stuck in the wild for quite a while.

Trader: That’s too bad, but here is a mug of water if you need it.

Laeron: Great thanks to you sir.

*Laeron reaches for the water

*Trader pulls the water away from him

Trader: Under a small fee of twenty minas.

Laeron: That is absolutely insane! You are mad old man. I would not to drink your water, even if it kills me.

Trader: suit yourself.

*Laeron walks to through the trading camp, looking for water.

*Woman walks toward Laeron, and hands him a drink.

Lauron: What is this

Woman: This is water, be prepared next time.

*Lauron gracefully accepts this drink, and drinks it all.

Lauron: Thank you?

*Lauron is confused as the woman disappeared.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

Laeron considers it for a while, then respectfully declines. Laeron does not like violence as long as it isn’t causing harm to himself or to anyone who doesn’t deserve it. Laeron sits at his house, thinking about how the battle would be if he did join, but then he realized that he isn’t a skilled fighter. Laeron writes out loud into his journal, “I will train on my swordsmanship from this day on.” Laeron walks outside, and attacks the next mob he sees.

Anything else you would like to say?:

I hope I have greatly improved since my last attempt! I really want to get on this server, it looks like a paradise for nerds like me :D

Reasons:

  • The examples in your power-emoting definition are confusing. "B swings a sword at A" is not power-emoting. Also, I'm not sure what this line means: "It is different from power gaming, because Player A has time to respond to this action."
  • Your metagaming definition needs to be expanded to be at least several sentences. Examples are a good way to go.
  • Both of your definitions are dangerously close to plagiarism.
  • Minor mistake in your biography. The Undead, as in the servants of Iblees, the great enemy, commonly took on cities of players with only 8 or so members. Fending off three at once would be impossible. However, if you simply mean zombies and the like, that is alright.

Apart from those few errors, your application was much better in all aspects. I'm glad to see you took my advice into account in this application. You are very close to being accepted, so please don't be discouraged!

Also note we have implemented a slightly new format for applications. It simply adds two questions, so make sure to use it in your next application.

If you have any queries relating to this application, please do not hesitate to PM me on the forums!

You may reapply in 24 hours from the time of this post.

Why not browse the forums or read up on some helpful guides while you wait?
