Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is the act of creating a role, preferably a character, and playing that character in a world created by another person, or yourself.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is the act of knowing information, in-game, that your character would not know. Example would be knowing the location of a specific dungeon in real life because of a friend telling you the information, and then using this knowledge in-game when the character would not know.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting, or power-gaming, is the act of doing something extremely powerful that is either impossible, or not possible by your character. Example would be killing a man in one punch, or flying from one point to another.

Someone gave me a pointer to change this up a bit. Another good example, or what it is, is doing something within game without giving another player a chance to respond. Example would be killing someone without giving them enough time to respond, or anything of that sense.

In-Character Details

Character Name: Deyalivan Toreso

Character Race: Human

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

When it comes to Deyalivan, he is a young man, at the age of 23 he grew up in the outskirts of Solace. He grew up on a farm with both of his parents, and his mentor Drel. Growing up, Deyalivan thought Drel was his uncle, always thought that, but when he turned 16, it all changed. More on that later. His mentor was different. Knowingly, he was a tad weird, but different in the sense of what he was truly there to do. Drel was there to change Deyalivan. Deyalivan started young as a hunter. He started to hunt with his mentor, starting with the simple. Deer, hogs, and other animals. Then it got weird, he started to learn how to stalk people. It was weird at first, but his mentor made Deyalivan not to tell his parents of his work. Drel was there to make Deyalivan a scout, a mercenary, a hired man. Deyalivan never caught what he was really learning. By the time he turned 16, his parents caught on. They read his journal and learned what he was really learning to do. Drel was gone the next day after this happened. This was new due to Deyalivan always followed Drel. Besides help running the farm, he never had a bow leave his side. This is where the story gets interesting.

A few weeks after Deyalivan turned 16 Drel was back, but not the original Drel. He was different, you can tell by the vibe he gave off. Deyalivan was excited and ran up to him and once Deyalivan went in for a handshake and what he thought would be a warm welcoming, he was stricken back unknowingly and was shocked. Drel walked into the house he lived in and Deyalivan heard screams. He went in and his mother was dead while Drel was still standing there with a sword in her throat. His father was tied up and screaming at his face. With a flick of his finger Drel's goons lit the house on fire and walked out. With Deyalivan on his knees just staring at what happened. Deyalivan quickly grabbed his bow and fires it straight at Drel's head when Drel quickly turns around and grabs the arrow. Deyalivan was shocked at what happened grabbed another arrow from his quiver and fired at his goons. Taking one out in one shot and quickly fires another at the other. With only 50 yards between Drel and Deyalivan, Deyalivan takes one last shot and hits Drel right in the left shoulder. Suprised Drel looks back and just laughs. Drel then disappeared in the wilderness. Deyalivan over the next few years gathered what was left of what was his own and then went to explore the kingdoms of Asulon. With the knowledge that was taught to him by Drel, he became a hired mercenary to help fight against the evil in the souls of Asulon and to find the true reason Drel was in his life.

(I am going for the hired mercenary position, not a assassin, so don't get that confused. :D )

(I was hoping if I can get ahold of someone in the future that they could come back as Drel. :P)

What are your characters ambitions?: Revenge against his mortal enemy Drel.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character?

Nothing really. :)

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

*Deyalivan walks towards the dwarf*

Deylivan: Greetings dwarf! What is the wares you have my friend?

Dwarf: Ohh, everything from an axe, to some silverware. I could sharpen those arrows for you if you need?

Deyalivan: That would do! How much would that be?

Dwarf: That would be (insert cheap price here).

Deyalivan: Thank you thank you.

*Deyalivan throws a couple more coins then the price*

Dwarf: Oh, that isn't necessary. But thank you so much.

*Dwarf takes the arrows and grinds them against the grinding stone and sharpens them to a perfect tip*

Dwarf: Here you go! I hope this is exactly what you need!

Deyalivan: I hope this helps you out friend, seems like the city has been treating your rough!

Dwarf: Ah, the lives of a poor dwarf, you understand.

Deyalivan: Sure do, I'll gladly help a friend in need.

*Deyalivan winks and then walks away proudly by the good deed he did*

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Orc: Come on your filthy short stout! Give me those coins!

Dwarf: You can grab them off my dead body!

*Deyalivan gets up very silently and walks behind the orc and while the orc isn't paying attention Deyalivan quickly straddles the orc and holds a sword at his throat*

Deyalivan: You better leave this dwarf alone before I spill orc blood in this Sanctuary. You know you don't want a war do you.

Orc: I am sorry, just don't kill me, I know my kids would like to see me again.

Dwarf: Don't kill the orc! I don't want blood drawn here!

Deyalivan: So this is what you will do, you will grab your items, and you will leave. You got it?

Orc: Fine, but if I see you at all outside of here, you are dead!

*Deyalivan lets go and quickly walks down the closet stairs while the orc turns around, he didn't catch his face*

Dwarf: You heard him! You better leave!

*The orc scoffs and leaves with his items*

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

*While watching the old man fall you quickly grab the the old man before he hits the ground.*

Old man: Oh my! Thank you so much sir! How could I repay you!

Deyalivan: No need sir, do you need help getting to where you are heading?

Old man: I would love some help, but all I need is a new walking stick.

*Deyalivan grabs a branch off the closest tree and starts the sharpen*

Deyalivan: Sit! Tell me a story while I make this for you.

Old man: Well then, I guess I got a few I could share with you.

*As the old man continues to tell the story about the undead taking over his house and able to repent them with no trouble, Deyalivan continues to make a new walking stick with the knife Drel gave him.*

Deyalivan: Here you go! Be careful out there!

*While Deyalivan walks away the old man asks him to stop and hands him a couple coins when Deyalivan turns around to respond*

Deyalivan: Thanks sir but that is no need, helping you was good enough for me. Gives me something to do on this afternoon and the great knowledge you gave is enjoyable for me.

Thou is welcome, Deyalivan Toreso, to the world of Asulon. We could not be happier!

Note- it is tradition to use the royal 'we' and old Canterlot voice
