I’m afraid I don’t have a minecraft forum account =( Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: The act of roleplaying is living and controlling the life of another person or character in what can often be a magic and medieval world. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: The act of metagaming is knowing things your character could not know in any way. It can be knowing the name of someone before they tell you it as an example. Metagaming is also using info that you have received in say ooc chat or from a friend that plays on the same server for your character’s or any other’s own goods in character. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting is not giving everybody else a chance and overpowering your character, like saying Randomcharacter throws a sword at opponent and kills him the second the rppvping begins. It can also be giving your character abilities he never had too. In-Character Details Character Name: Tob_Adem Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Tob wears leather pants that he has camouflaged in dirt and grass to not be spotted by animals in the forest. He is a careful man and he uses therefore a chain shirt if something should go wrong in a travel or he would be pulled into a fight. He also has a quiver with arrows on the back, even though his favorite weapon is the sword (Tob isn’t a man with a lot of money and arrows aren’t cheap). He has a white skin, big blue eyes, brown, messy hair and a normal nose that you wouldn’t say is special in anyway. He is proud of his hair and eyes and never wears a helmet (He says he can’t see anything and that he gets all sweaty). Tob does not know but when he was born, his mother got serious back problems, forcing her to go away to the best doctors of Asulon. She was at last forced to search outside Asulon’s borders in which she was the victim of evil magic which made the grass look like fire and the mountains like giant waves, coming to get her. It eventually drove her mad and she walked off a cliff. His dad therefore raised Tob. He was tall and strong, with a yellow beard and hair. He taught Tob how to handle a weapon. They lived in a one-room apartment that was always dusty because Tob’s father was a man that never had time or experience in cleaning. There were two beds, one under the window and one right across from it, both were in dwarven iron from a friend of Tob’s dad. They were the most precious things they had. In the darkest corner there were always a sack of pillows that they used to sit on and a mouse named “Rasmus” that sometimes came out to see what they were doing, when he felt safe. Tob’s dad realized that it was a dangerous world and every Sunday he would take Tob out in the forest to try to learn him how to handle a sword. They started with learning how to hold it and how to hack and stab but Tob didn’t really get the hang of it until he was attacked by a pack of wolves on his way home. His dad took down three of the four wolves but when the last one jumped at Tob. His body reacted by pointing the sword right at the wolf, making it jump right into his own death. Tob had never killed anything before but this felt satisfying in a weird way. He had killed someone who would have killed him, something that is different that killing a defenseless animal. After this Tob got more motivation and every free afternoon with or without his dad he went into the woods to train his skills. He preferred killing wolves because they were predators, even though pigs and cows made good dinner. Tob has become pretty good at hunting but he hasn’t killed an intelligent form of life, like a human or any other race able to think. That’s a whole different level than hunting animals that just eat and sleep all day long. Tob’s dad was originally a farmer and he worked hard to pay for an education for Tob. So far everything was good, but as his wife didn’t come back, Tob’s dad started to get lonely and angry. One day a soldier knocked on the door and said that Tob’s dad had to join the humans in the war. Tob never really got any friends except a boy named James that he got to know a little when Tob ran the bets in the school-fighting tournament. James always placed small bets on which fighter his stomach told him to. James’ dad was also in the war and Tob had someone to talk to for a while. But then a day James was just gone. The teacher wouldn’t tell Tob anything because James had told her to. He had gone to live with his uncle in the north when his dad died. When Tob heard that his dad had died in war and that he was going to have to move to his uncle in the north he got very sad and he didn’t say a word for a month. His uncle was writing books and he was always home infront of his desk. Tob was used to living in a city and it was weird for him with all the open area and plants. Tob decided that he was against war because it had taken men and women from so many families, including his own. He had nothing to do all day and started taking long walks in the mountains. But one day it didn’t go as planned. Tob met a band of escaped prisoners that captured him and took all his belongings. They forced him to show them his uncle’s house so they had somewhere to stay for the night. After breakfast the next day they killed his uncle, took all his money and books and put the house on fire, leaving Tob alone in the middle of the forest. He wandered around for weeks living off what nature gave him, until he stumbled over the clud sanctuaries, which is his situation right now. He’s a 20 year old adult, hungry and looking to adventure and see the world. What are your characters ambitions?: Tob wants to see the world and find a place to get a house and settle. He is however more depending on faith than on himself for the future. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: I will add a file. Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Tob is very social and says hello to everyone he doesn’t look at as a threat (he won’t stop an angry orc). Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I go over to the dwarf and ask where his from. “I have travelled far across mountains and woods from my little shed. It was burnt down by a bunch of thieves. I had all my money in that house!” I have no home either dear dwarf. But I do have some airions. Take them and use them to start something better than this. Buy some clothes and try to get a ob in the inn. I heard it needed some men.” Tob gives man airions and smuggles in a dirk to the pocket of the man’s jacket “Somebody might attack you for being a dwarf. Hide it in your shoes so the guards won’t find it. Good luck with finding a job.” “Thank you sir.” Tob walks away You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I think that I might step up for the dwarf but get a better idea. The orc would attack anyway because he’s bigger and dumber than me, so 2 versus one is not a good idea. But then I got the idea. I hid behind one of the plants and slowly sneak up behind the big orc before I get out my sword and put it to his neck. “Don’t move.” I said, trying to sound bigger than I am. The orc freezes. I will kill you if you won’t stop harassing that poor dwarf. Now turn around and walk out the door. “I wil ghed an ahrmy and khil you!” The orc screams while he turns around and walks out the door. I help up the poor dwarf and asks if the orc took anything from him “He didn’t ‘ave tim’ mate. Thanks fo’ steppin’ up fo’ me!” “No problem. I couldn’t have let him do that in the cloud sanctuary itself! That would be lack of respect against the gods. This is a place for peace and meditation.” I don’t ‘ave anythin’ t’ pay ye wit’” I wouldn’t need it unless it’s food”. We say goodbye and I feel good for outsmarting someone, even though it was an orc and for maintaining the peace in the cloud sanctuary. “Maybe the gods will be nicer to me.” I said laughing to myself. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I am just about to help him up when an arrow whines right above my head: sssssss BONK it says as it hits one of the trees behind me. I realize the stick was shot at by the thieves that are firing at me and that it didn’t break by itself. I grab the man and drags him down into a small slope while I use my sword for some cover. I then throw myself down into cover just as another arrow hits my arm, making a small cut “Nothing serious” I said to myself while biting off a piece of my shirt and stopping the blood. I don’t have a bow and am pinned down for a few minutes, until the thieves run out to grab the money. I don’t know what to do when I see a bunch of big rocks laying further down in the slope. I crawl down since the archer is probably covering them. When I get there I grab one in each hand. “They’re definitely heavy enough to break some bones.” I say to myself with a grin. Then I make my move. I jump up and throw the stones at the bandit with the money. I hit him in the leg and it looks like it works. “AAAUGGHH” he screams as he falls down. I take some more rocks and throw them at the thieves that are pretty confused. It goes on for some time until I hear horses coming from down the road “Sh#t! run guys! They look like soldiers!” and off they go, into the woods again. I stop the soldiers and hand the man over to them before they give me a ride to a medic to clean my wound. The old man thanks me for saving his life and gives me some of his apples “Thank you. They will taste good now.” I answer, before I fall asleep.
