Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:Victor was born into a wealthy family near Arethor. Afforded most of the luxuries of life, Victor was spoiled from an early age. Part of this luxury was a good education. Victor was taught the basics to a varied selection of topics in Natural Philosophy. Victor had grown up with two brothers and one sister. His sister, Mary was ill the majority of her childhood and it irked Victor to know degree that he could not help her, no matter how much science he knew. Curing Mary became his passion, he would spend days in his chamber trying to concoct some form of medicine that would alleviate her suffering. He was a slave to his tedious work. Victor stopped taking his lessons at 18, so as to devote his time in the finding of a cure. No matter how hard he tried, he could not succeed. Mary eventually passed away, creating a major rift in the Gaffner family.

Victor’s father; Johann, resented the time Victor had spent locked away in his chambers, working away. A once happy family, was divided by grief. Frequent arguments and some unsavoury experiments, finally pushed Johann too far. He banished Victor from the Gaffner mansion, never to come back. Victor was incredibly saddened by this, as he had loved his mother and remaining brothers to a great extent.Victor left the house with a fair bit of money his mother had given him and went in search of a new place to stay. Victor decided to settle down in a residence in Ursakar. Victor decides he will purchase books on a wide variety of subjects and continue his education. One of Victor's favourite subjects to read about was Asulon's plague, he wishes to be at the forefront of innovation to prevent such an occurrence from ever happening again. Now 20, Victor has plans to become a renowned scientist.

Victor is a tall man of about 6"2. He is slight in figure, with a slightly feverish and manic look to him as a result of his constant studying and rejection of the outdoors. As a result of this, Victor is also very pale. He has light brown hair, which he constantly moves to the side so as to not impair his vision. Victor's eyes are of a pale shade of green. Victor wears a long brown trench coat which may sometimes look quite shabby, due to frequent neglect. Victor's personality varies from time to time. He is often awkward due to such a small amount of interaction with people. He is usually amiable to those he comes across, but he can be insensitive. Victor is impulsive in his decision making, and has ambition which he pursues with manic fervor, which can oft lead to problems for him.

What are your characters ambitions?:Victor dreams of becoming a renowned scientist. Victor will study medicine in particular so no one he cares about will ever slip through his fingers as Mary once had.

Open-Response-Questions

Answer at least two of the below questions with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Victor stumbles about Arethor, his thoughts in another place. Not really looking where he is going, he bumps into a guard. The guard glares angrily at him, “Watch where you're going, you lout,” the man warns in a gruff tone. Victor nods apologetically and speeds off down an adjacent alley. Victor hears a voice coming from one of the stalls he presumed to be empty. “Come get yer wares! We ‘ave all manners o’ things! You look like ye could use some o’ my products, sir!” the charismatic dwarf calls to Victor. Intrigued, Victor ventures forth to the stall before asking, “What wares could you offer me, kind sir?” The dwarf’s countenance brightened considerably. “I got all sorts o’ stuff, dear boy! Take a look!” the dwarf exclaims, gesturing at his various wares. Victor eyes some leather bound, dusty tomes. “How much for the set?” Victor inquires earnestly. The dwarf looks ponderous for a moment, “100 Minas and it’s all yers!” Victor reaches into his coat pocket and produces a small bag of Minas. As the currency swaps hands, so do the books. Victor collects his new found treasures, puts them in his rucksack and walks away in his hurried, feverish manner.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?Victor wanders down a road, heading back to his house in Ursakar. Victor stops for a second and marvels at the great unknown above him, the sky. He watches with both wonder and joy at the twinkling of the stars, wishing that he could unravel their secrets. It’s like this, that Victor stays for probably a good half an hour before he decides to depart once more. A little ways up, Victor is confronted by a cacophony of angry voices. He determines that there are two voices, the gravelly tones of a Dwarf and the harsh, gruff intonation of an Orc. Victor peeks behind a hedgerow at the pair, looking as if they are about to come to blows. Not wanting to put himself in harm’s way, Victor sticks to the shadows, sneaking as quietly as possible past the quarrelling duo. Feeling marginally safer outside of the range of the Orc and Dwarf, Victor quickens his pace to get back to his lodgings as soon as he can. As he walks, he ponders a few subjects that he had read in his recently purchased novels.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:Victor’s slight figure walks with his usual quick pace down a forested path, his eyes drinking in the verdant glory of Malinor’s many trees. After a fair bit of a stroll, Victor comes upon a frail old man. Already, the frail man looks unstable on his walking stick, Victor observes the precariousness of the situation in a curious demeanour. Victor hypothesizes something will befall the old man and watches as intently as if it was an experiment of paramount importance. Sure enough , the man’s stick breaks on a rather large root, and his emaciated figure is sent tumbling to the ground. Victor notes the old fellow’s various possessions strewn about the ground in a heap. The Minas do not particularly appeal to Victor, as he has quite enough as it is. Victor snaps back into reality, a sense of guilt for not helping the man washing over him. Victor outstretches his hand, his pale, skeletal fingers stretched to their apex. “Are you alright, sir? You’ve taken quite the fall.” Victor asks in a sympathetic tone. The old man looks up at Victor with a pained expression. “I’ve hurt my hip, do you know of any healers?” Victor nods enthusiastically, happy to have someone to help, “I have studied medicine with a manic ardour, I would be honoured if you would permit me to heal your injury.” The man smiles at his younger companion’s enthusiasm, “You seem to have the determination, I would then consent if you would help me.” Victor helps the old man onto his feet slowly, half walking, half carrying the man to an area where he can set the bone.
