A new face in the Vale

A faint breeze flows through the Vale, slightly nudging the leaves of the trees, bushes, and other plants back and fourth. A white-bark tree lays, obstructing the path, its roots torn up. Though, the leaves of the tree seem to be keeping something in its grasps. First glance it appears to be a pesky animal, though with further expection the lump in the leaves are a young red-haired halfling, in deep sleep. His shirt is mildly dirt with mud, the same with his trousers. He is curled up in a ball, snoring sharply within the leaves, shivering from the cold.

"Zzzz..."

Midney notices something making a snoring noise, and searches 'till she finds it. She pokes the Halfling, and says,

"'Lo t'ere! M'name's Midney!"

Alrim quickly snaps awake, bumping his head roughly on a stick above him. He crawls out of the tree brush, and onto the frosty grass, and quickly back on his feet. Yawning and rubbing his face, he raises his bushy eye-brows at the youngster.

"...Uhm, 'lo der me suppose... did ya have ta wake me up...? Was havin' a nice dream about tasty mead!"

Midney frowns at him.

"Well, I wo'e ye' up 'cause ye' were sleeping' in a bush! Some into' t'e Inn, would' ye'?"

She gestures to the Drunken Sheep Inn.

Squints his eyes towards the inn, then turns his head back to the fallen tree. Taking note that the inn is most likely warmer, Alrim follows happily into the inn, slumping downwards, leaning into the wall. He warms up by the fire, every so often his eyes closing slowly, then forcing them back open again.
