A noise at the gate

You hear an odd noise at the gate that sounds like coughing. It is loud and is rough. When you go to see what is wrong, there is a high elf that looks no older than 13. He looks quite sick and is sweating. His robes are drenched in water, it is cold and heavy. (posted on iPad. I'll edit it later on my computer tomorrow.) (Just noticed the mistake on where I posted. I blame the iPad. Please move to the Normandor forum.)

Kalenz glances to the High elf as he passes.

"Are we lost? Haelun'or is much more fitting for a high elf, no?"

Quavinir the Scout Begins to walk towards whatever the noise is, curious of whatever it may be, though upon making sight of Kalenz, he stops, then slowly backs away hoping he didnt see him, he did'nt need any more conflict today.

*Wise Lorian, Scribe of Malinor, limps through leaning on his staff making his way to the great tree of Normandor when he notices the high elven child on the floor*

"What are you doing boy, the streets are no place for rest,"

Fiyem coughs "I am not here for rest, I am simply too weak to move." he said as he coughed. "I think I am sick."

Kalenz glances to the boy once more.

"Perhaps you should be helped to Haelun'or then? I may do so if you wish... Assuming you are pure and not one of the" He pauses searching for a phrase "Less than satisfactory impu- High Elves in Normandor?"

Kalenz's coat shifts slightly in the wind as he awaits a response.

*Earenniel sees a small crowd forming around the gate. As she gets closer she can see that there is a soaking wet figure lying on the ground. Curious, she walks over to the figure to get a better look. Realizing it is an elf child she kneels down beside the boy.*

"Child, what has happened to you? This is no place for an injured boy. Come inside and I will provide a warm bed and new clothes for you."

*Earenniel goes to lift the boy into her arms.*

The child looks at Earenniel thankfully, "Thank you, I fell off the bridge, and fell into the river." he said. The child sneezes, all over Kalenz. His white robe, now slightly yellow, is waving in the air, his face is now covered in little droplets of saliva. ((Must humiliate Kalenz all of the time...))

*Lucan walks stealthly to the gate to see what is going on, with an arrow knocked into his bow. He withdrawls back, when he deems the young Elf not a threat*

Kalenz steps back and glances to his robes in horror for a few moments and begins attempting to clean the horrid mess from him. This however is quickly interrupted by the even more unacceptable action to him - Earanniel picking up the child.

He looks at her sternly and says "Do not touch the child. A mali'aheral is to go to Haelun'or, despite your pathetic little excuse to exist here it is improper. The child will come with me."

*Earenniel looks to the boy with gentle eyes*

"I shall not argue if you wish to go with this man to be with the High Elves in Haelun'or. It is your choice as to whom you wish to go with."

*Looks back at Kalenz, returning his stern gaze*

"You speak of this boy as if he is property. Let him decide where he wishes to go. If he wants to go with you then I will make no fuss, but he is the one who decides. It is his life to live."

*With that, Earenniel waits for the boy's reply.*

"You know as well as I it is where he belongs. Regardless of your own personal sentiments."

Kalenz looks to the boy. His eyes suddenly fix upon him. For a few moments there is nothing but silence followed by a slight twitch of Kalenz's hand. Kalenz's eyes appear to look past the boy despite being fixed directly upon him. He mutters something to himself and then speaks as if his mind is elsewhere:

"Do make your choice he mutters."

Kalenz continues to look towards the boy intently; waiting.

The child looks at Earenniel then at Kalenz, a small smile of happiness crosses his face, though he shakes it off. He looks as if he is thinking who to go with, Kalenz or Earenniel? He looks quite confused. He opens his mouth and begins to say "I will go with..."

Kalenz maintains his intent gaze on the boy. His brow twitches for a fraction of a second. He fakes a weak smile before speaking quietly:

"With me, no?"

((It should be noted by the observer OOCly a 'phantasm' illusion is occurring. Where an emotion is being pushed upon the target. In this case happiness. Nothing more. Exact details and the RP behind it is occurring in /tells. La Livre du Maggie has not been pushed into such a situation and all is done willingly with OOC knowledge of the situation and avoidance is an option if they so elect. Though through tells and by reading the comment above no will to avoid such has been indicated.))
