Rooseus 0 Share Posted November 4, 2012 Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name: Rooseus How old are you?: 18 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Sweden (gmt+1) Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: I´ve studied English for 9 years. I would say my English is good; never had a problem with it, but I do not have English origin which means my English is not perfect. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Yes, I’ve played on a server called MassiveCraft. MassiveCraft is a roleplaying server but it´s not whitelisted which makes it full of kids that can´t role-play. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: I was looking for a “lord of the rings” server and found this one with some help by Google. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/73561-rooseus-athas-application/page__p__602557__fromsearch__1#entry602557 and http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/73648-rooseus-athas-second-application/page__p__603430__fromsearch__1#entry603430. Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/! : Yes. Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: When roleplaying you become somebody else than yourself, you trying to be this person as much as possible. It´s like being an actor, you really try to live into this person’s life and act as you think he would do. You become one with the person. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is using information that’s not known by your character. This information could be things you heard outside the game. Let´s say 2 friends starting to play on a server, instead of getting to know each other in game they decide to meet at a certain place in game. This is meta-gaming. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power emoting is giving yourself a advantage over the opponent by acting like you are stronger or better than him. You make yourself more powerful than the opponent without giving him a chance to role-play. In-Character Details Character Name: Rooseus Athas Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: South of Asulon in a place called Alras the heavily pregnant mother Beryl Athas was in deep pain, a child was about to be born. A piercing scream was released from her as the baby dropped into the hands of the father; Balder Athas. He lifted his child up in the air and as he looked into the eyes of the baby he said; “Welcome to the world Rooseus, Rooseus Athas”. Rooseus parents were northerner farmers living at the edge of Alras, the peaceful merchant nation. The Athas family wasn’t merchants but once every week they went into the center of the city trying to sell their bread which wasn’t always that successful. They were poor and could barely pay the taxes. The family lived a good life anyway; they had loads of food and often had travelers over for dinner. Rooseus could never have enough of the travelers story’s, he worshiped them and he was dreaming of the same experience. Rooseus was raised as a farmer, he knew everything about it. All the things from how to place the seeds correctly to baking bread which normally was made by the women’s. Except the skills in farming he learned to see people and adapt to their personality, this was because of the huge amount of different people he met his whole childhood. He realized quite fast that this was a useful skill when trading, and he began to sell bread to the neighborhood child’s, in return he was given new and fresh clothes which were something he never had. He soon began to sell bread to adults for minas in return. He was known all over the city and was called “The bread boy”. At the age of 16 Rooseus decided to leave Alras and venture out in the world as a traveling merchant in hope to actualize his dreams and come back with a huge stock of minas. At Rooseus return 15 years later the nation was fallen and taken over by the dwarfs, his parents were dead several years ago. He couldn’t find a reason of staying and continued his journey around the world. Today Rooseus is an old and experienced man at the age of 52. He has a light white skin, long gray hair and beard. He has blue eyes and a height of 190 cm. He is normal sized for a northerner, big and muscular but mainly recognized from his notable cheekbones which has a thick width. This big old man wouldn’t waste an opportunity to learn something new. He is a never stopping merchant who is always looking for somebody to buy his wares. What are your characters ambitions?: Rooseus is always looking for knowledge, knowledge gives him an advantage in every situation. As a traveling merchant you need knowledge about other cultures and cities to be successful. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/254/20121104152751.png/ Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: As a rich merchant you are a target for the villains. Rooseus always carries an axe with him if a dangerous and threatening situation would appear. He does know how to swing an axe and are not afraid of using it. §§§§§§ Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Upon entering Arethor I see a poor looking dwarf calling out his wares; “Iron ingots from the dwarven caves of kal`karik, only 10 minas per ingot!”. As an experienced merchant I know a poor guy like him would do anything to make some money. I walk up to him and bend over, taking a deeper look at the ingots. The iron is damaged and you could see that it taken a couple of hits, that’s probably because the dwarf lagged the ingots on the ground. I take a look in the scary eyes of the dwarf and say; “It´s damaged, I can´t give u full price but I buy 10 from you for 70 minas. A confused face appeared on the dwarf and you could see that he was uncertain about the deal but he had no choice, he probably wouldn’t be able to sell them anyway. He agreed to my deal and I gave him the minas. I know that I would be able to sell them to an orc for a higher price, maybe not here but I would have better luck in The War Uzg. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? After a late night at the Barons Tavern I´m having a walk at the Oren Road back home. Half the way home I come by an orc threatening a dwarf, the orc appears to be a nomad trying to steal the dwarfs golden sword. Suddenly the orc gives the dwarf a kick in the head, the dwarf falls to the ground and that’s when I make my move. I walk up to them and say; “Greetings travelers! I have loads of gold I can sell for you orc”. The orc seems to be unhappy about my appearance reach for my head but am able to avoid his move. At the same time the dwarf made it up and is able to stab the orc in the back as he catches my attention. The orc screams loudly! I pick up my axe in hope of scaring him of, to my suprice he just gone even madder. He takes a step closer and grab my axe. At this point both me and the dwarf are running for our life. When looking over my shoulder i could see that the orc was way to injured to follow us. When reaching a lake the dwarf falls on his kneels of relief. “I´m from Kal`karik, who are you? Where are you from?” he says and take a look at me. When i eased my thirst from the fresh water of the lake I look back at him and say; “I´m Rooseus Athas of Alras”. He seemed to be confused about my answer and say; “I never heard of Alras”. “It´s because it doesn’t exist anymore, it was taken by your people and renamed Kal'Alras” I quickly answered. He tried to tell me something but I took off ignoring him. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick, looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?: With my sack full of bread I walk down the road of Malinor in hope of some great deals. Just as a very old man walk by his walking stick breaks. I let the bag of bread go and reach for the man but fails. He falls to the ground and a bag of minas splits open. Normally I would have taken the minas and left. He was old and probably wouldn’t survive without his money, I just couldn’t do it. I help the man up letting him lean to the fence by the road, I notice that his blind when looking into his eyes which had no glance at all. I break a stick from the fence and give it to him; a smile appears on his face as I give it to him. The coins is easily gathered and given back to the old man. As the man open his bag of coins I look back at my sack lying on the floor, the breads was lying on the ground all dirty and I realized I wouldn’t be able to sell them in the city. I pick them up and turn back around. The old man was still there and counting coins next to the road so I walk up to him and say; “Are you interested in buying some fresh bread baked today, only 1 minas per bread!”. The old man accepts the deal and buys 5 breads; a blind man like him wouldn’t notice that they are dirty. “Thank you sir” I say and leave as fast as I could.
