Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is exactly what it says it is; It is playing the role of someone other then yourself. It is like living another life, in another person’s shoes, experiencing the world in the eyes of a different person.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Metagaming is using information that is OOC, ICly. Ex: In the OOC chat, someone says Malinor is being attacked by Undead, and you instantly sprint there and help, even though you only learned of it OOCly.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting (Or powergaming ,I believe) is when your character does something he/she shouldn’t be able to do. Ex: *Faolin is surrounded by zombies, and using the dagger he hasn’t trained for much he ninja slices them to ribbons*

In-Character Details

Character Name: Faolin

Character Race: Elf (Wood elf)

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Appearance: Faolin has brown eyes, and brown hair. His cloak is green, and he wears a silver pendant he had inherited from his father.

Personality: Faolin is generally a caring and calm person. He is not quick to resort to violence. He enjoys a good laugh. He will certainly help any person in need, and believes strongly in justice. To people who are criminals, or just plain bad, he speaks with a cold, emotionless tone, which suggests instantly that he does not want to prolong the conversation. He doesn’t like the fact that much of the world is in a constant state of fighting, so he’s doesn’t use a weapon at all unless there is no other alternative.

Age: 214 (21 for a human.)

Biography: Faolin was born in quite the average home, in the Wood Elf city of Normander.. He had a loving family, with a mother, father, and a younger brother. No orcs ever came to kill his parents (SUPRISINGLY), and generally his life was peaceful. His parents had a deep respect of Malin, the first elf, but they did not worship him. Faolin and his younger brother, named Glenwing, often played in the large, wonderful tree-city that was their home. An interesting fact, as well, is that they were opposites. Faolin was calm and patient, usually thinking things through before he did them, but Glenwing was impulsive and had a short fuse. But this never changed their friendship.

They developed great dexterity, and Glenwing also became an accomplished archer. Faolin tried too, but it was evident that although he was great but human standards, he wasn’t the best. But what he was the best at was climbing, hiding, and running. His reflexes are, still to this day, exceptionally good. When he was 157, his father had to go on a long journey, to study trees from all corners of Asulon. With Faolin he left a small pendent with a picture of a marvelous golden tree inside, which soon became Faolins most prized possession.

His life went on, for the next few years, to be fun-filled and adventurous. Him as his friends wanted to explore every corner of the whole city, often being found in very….Odd, places. But this began to change when Faolin learned of the Drudic Order. He had always had a love of nature, and of balance, so the Druids absolutely fascinated him. Soon, he began asking around, but, oddly enough, no one told him definitively where and who they were. He became increasingly frustrated, until one day, when he was exploring around the city alone, he saw his brother Glenwing suddenly sprint by, with a pack of Sentinels chasing after him. Not knowing what had happened, he asked a straggling Sentinel what Glenwing had done, and the news shocked him. Apparently, Glenwing had been cheated out of a game, and in his rage, he had shot the man dead. Realizing the horrible thing he had done, he decided to flee. Just in time, too, because already the Sentinels were hot on his tail. After hearing the story, Faolin was sad, yes, but it reminded him that he was reaching the age where he knew he wanted to go out, and begin his adult life. Of course, he still stayed a while at his old home, but every day the urging became stronger. And he knew what he was going to do. After spending a few more years less with people, and more with the birds, the trees, and the animals, Faolin knew EXACTLY what he was going to do.

He was going to join the Druidic Order….

What are your characters ambitions?: Faolin wishes to join the Druidic Order, and be more in tune with nature.

Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: 5v7prq.png

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Nothing really, just that I hope you acknowledge the fact that Faolin is a non-violent character, a type that I think is pretty original.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Dwarf: Standing his stall, with a look of desperation in his eyes, the dwarf yells to the crowd. “Get yer apples ‘ere! Fresh apples, righ’ ‘ere!” Sadly, many past him by, not even giving him a glance.

Faolin: Notices the dwarves apparent poverty, I take pity on him. I look over at his stall, noticing a variety of different trinkets and objects, but nothing sparks my interest much till I see a fresh bag of delicious, ripe looking apples. “Ah, apples! Just what I needed. I’ll take 10, please.”

Dwarf: The dwarf smiles, pleased to have a customer. He says, cheerfully “A’right then, elf. That’d be 20 minas! Come ag’in, eenytime!”

Faolin: Handing him the minas, I put them into my pack and continue on my business through Arethor.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Faolin: I dash forward, hoping to stop this needless conflict. “Orc! Please, do not hurt this innocent dwarf! It’ll be better for all of us, I can assure you!”

Orc: “Stay ri’gh there, elf. Dwarf took mah mina, I will smash him!”

Dwarf: “No, no! Elf, mate, help an ol’ lad out, will ye?!”

Faolin: “First, dwarf, I don’t know you… Second, if you have taken this Orc’s minas, I’d expect you to hand them back, WITH compensation… Unless, of course, you would like to be taken to prison.”

Orc: “Nu, I kill him!”

Dwarf: Gulps, then turns to Faolin and says in a small wimper “Please, mate. Help meh, please!”

Faolin: I sigh, turning back to the orc “Orc, if you harm this dwarf, you would have to be taken to prison aswell. Now, dwarf, and the money back and we’ll be done with it!”

Dwarf: Nodding, he hands the money back, then sprints down the path, away from the orc.

Orc: “Thank, you elf. Druggas not forget it.”

Faolin: “Happy to help.” I continue to walk down the road.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

Faolin: As I see the man tumble to the ground, it doesn’t even cross my head to take the money. Instead, I help the man up, collecting the coins and giving them to him. “Here, good man. I’ll help to the your home, ok?”

Old man: “Thank ye, sonny! I just was meaning teh ask for some bread.”

Faolin: I give him some bread, and help him to his home.

Old man: As we’re walking, he says “ Ahh, I’d never know an elf can be such a kind one! Can I have yer name?”

Faolin: “My name is Faolin. And it is a pleasure to help.”

Old man: “I’ll remember that, sonny. I owe ye one!”

Faolin: I helped the old man into his house, and ask “Can you take it from here?”

Old man: “Yes, yes! I still gots some strength in these old bones! Here, here, have some minas!” The man hands me several minas.

Faolin: Nodding, he takes the minas without complaint, and continue walking around Malinor. Faolin would always help someone in need, and this showed just that.
