A Day Of Shadows

(I started to play this character right before the temp server, but barely started, so I decided just for fun to introduce him to LOTC!)

The cold night of the winter is stirring. The dim forest near by lurks upon innocents of men traveling by. Those two men of a race of Adunian, arm their selves with short swords and bows. Their stilted arrows placed upon their back held by black quivers. They traveled in their trained stealthy manner across the forest floor, whilst large birds were watching them. They had been traveling for a day, first by foot, than horse, and once again on foot. They spoke no words to each other, only once in awhile make their rare grayish brown eyes glance into each other.

The taller and seemingly young one accidently stepped on to a trivial piece of a branch. The crack without delay alarmed the two men. The shorted man unsheathed his black blade and held it up towards his own face, whilst the other equipped a black arrow onto the string of his hunting bow and searched around with his dark eyes. The archer’s sandy blonde hair starts to appear through his dark hood, when a loud clank of steel is created by the clash of the other hooded man’s sword with a un-exposed figures blade. The archer turns seeing his partner slay a man dressed in a blue tunic. The sound of the swiftness of the body falling to the ground seemingly brings more chaos to the situation. Two more men appear from the gloomy bushes and raising shiny axe’s as high as their might would be willing too.

The archer let goes of the arrow, which piloted into one of the man’s skulls, instantly piercing the skull of the man. The archer than threw his bow to the side and un-sheathes his twin short sword and awaits the man with the axe to attack. The bandit seemingly swings down, but the archer only counters the swing with a swift block and rapid push back with the sword, making the axe man fumble down-wards onto the bitter snow. He than slides his short sword into the mans heart, watching the poor cold bandit die in the snow, his own blood staining the icy remains. He turns around to his partner, both hoods are fully drawn off.

Now at a close enough look, the two men resembled each other in sure ways. The sandy blond one, had the same eyes of the much, much older looking one. Together they seemed to look like father and son, and indeed they were. They both look at each other and grin while un-sheathing their blades.

“Son, you have proved your self worthy; there is no more I can teach you” says the gray haired father.

“Well, isn’t that not much to say after the situation we were ju-s-t”…………

The sandy blonde man chokes his line while he see’s two arrows fly toward his father, piercing the man in the chest. His father cascade’s to the ground while he try’s to catch him.

“Leave me boy, there is nothing you can do” His father says while his eyes are starting to dim out.

“NO! Father you must come with me” the young ranger weeps towards his father

“I’m sorry, but this is what Aeriel has chosen for me, and so this is what I’m am condemned to” His voice fades into abyss, while his eyes shut down for eternity.

The sandy blonde ranger, looks up into the forest sky, a tear now forms running down the mans right cheek. Anger mixed with extreme sadness flow through his body. He doesn’t look for the area where the arrow was slung from. He instead take’s his father’s family necklace just like his own and ties it on. He than un-equips his fathers blade from his fathers belt and attaches it to himself.

Castir, is the rangers name. A great known name in his families history. Castir slowly puts his fingers on his father’s lids and close them slowly, letting one last icy tear of the winter drop on his dead father. He stands up, knowing his father would rather not be buried but form with nature. Castir starts running through the forest trying to ignore the sad and happy memories of his father. But instead remember what being a member of the Ravenwood family meant…………
