Concerning Mountain Chickens

A Journal on the Menthal’Prudlik and their Discovery

After leaving Asulon in pursuit of the Unknown, the Noble Races approached the First Isle of Elysium. Naturally, the Dwarves went in search of a suitable settlement, finding it in the mountains of North. While building a hold, one of the first things they noticed were the cliff-hopping birds living in the mountains. They were a large foul that seemed to have adapted to life on the mountain cliffs. On the same token, they were also extremely fat, making it a wonder why they do not fall of the cliffs to their deaths

Considering the plentiful population of these birds, the Dwarves began to hunt them as a food source. They contain rich, dark meat that is extremely tough, yet the taste makes up for any difficulty in eating it. The birds proved easy to catch and domesticate, as they are likely not used to any predators this high up in the mountains. Their eggs are a pure white that fade into the snow from a distance, and their yolks seemingly melt in your mouth. They will eat almost any type of seed you give them, similar to the chickens of Asulon. I suppose they aren’t picky because of the limited variety of plant life found in the mountains

Due to their similarities to the chickens of Asulon, many of the Dwarves have given them the name “Mountain Chickens”. For a more formal name, I looked to the ancient Dwarven tongue and found a name I thought suitable. “Menthal’Prudlik”, The Mountain Pride. The meat of these birds will be served at the tables of Kings for centuries to come. When we are to move on from this island, I will make sure that we take a proper store of these birds along with us

((is that how large the chickens are? If so, I wonder how they aren't preying upon the dwarves right now.))

I would, but the wiki apparently hates me for some reason. If someone else could put it up there for me, it would be most appreciated

((Why do you think I hide from them!? They could eat me whole! But we could train them and ride them into battle!))
