Jistuma 1996 Share Posted January 18, 2013 *In Malinor's courtyard Kravac aproched Kalenz and Polgrath with a small book with a dark leather cover. After a few words exchanged between the two, Kravac handed Polgrath the book. Of the contents, no one but Kravac knew until Kalenz and Polgrath decide to read it himself.* (Unless you have the book IG signed by me with the link to this post, you do not have access to the contents. You can rp seeing the exchange happen if you wish.) "I have found myself in the possession of quite the fascinating book for a short period of time which was handed to my brother Khel. It contained what seemed to be the remains of a lost religion and cult, demonstrating in quite the disturbing scenes of torture and rituals in drawings. Something that fascinated me was the condition in which it appeared to be, the wording seemed ancient, and dust which I believe have been there for years. As I cleaned the dust of the pages with my hand, I realised that none of the pages of the book were in fact damaged. After carefully reading all the book, I found no spot from water or liquid in it as well, and decided to test the book for it’s ability to withhold damage. On one corner of a least important page I wished to rip a piece of the paper to test with water, rock, and fire, and found myself incapable of doing so. The paper would not rip, even as I applied as much strength as I could. Dipping my finger in water I let a drop fall onto the page, and as I expected, the paper was not touched, and the drop simple slided down the page. I wished to try with fire as well, withholding myself from doing so for if I was incorrect, the book could have been gone. I had not tried all that without reason, as in the text of the book there was a chapter that talked of enchanting paper to resist the effects of destruction, and it will be of that which I will transcribe all that I can remember. It spoke of connection to the void, but stated nothing on how to reach it, I believe to stop those unknown to magic to not be able to perform these magics. To enchant it seemed quite complexed, betaking three tasks, the first one being quite evil in nature. 1. Gather the skin of of an animal to serve as the paper. For this the author recommended the skin of Mali, as they would be the finest ones. This is infact not something that should be done, and so the skin of a farm animal could be used. I can not fully copy the many drawings it possessed on which it explained the proper way to skin, a leader worker should have some experience to give. The end result should be the skin without blood or meat and placed in Vinegar to preserve. 2. Forming the ink which will be used to aid with the magic. I did notice that each of the pages did infact have the red drawing upon them with the black writing over it. It was stated that for single pieces of papers like contracts, it should be done on the side not written. A mixture of redstone and coal dust has to be done with the correlation of 65 - 35 respectively in quantity. Mixed well and with a bottle of the purest alcohol ready, set on fire. For a few seconds the mixture on fire should be steered before the alcohol is added. The alcohol would catch fire as well, so only enough to cover the mix should be poured and afterwards the fire blown out. The mixture was then stated as being viscuous, and ready for use. 3. Completing the magic with the drawing on the paper. A sign has to first be drawn in the center of the paper with the form of: / * \ * o * \ * / The form should be memorize and it was stated that with the eyes closed it should be able to be drawn. While I do not believe the form of the mark is important, what I imagine would be important would be to have it embedded into the mind as when casting the magic. Nothing more is stated on this symbol and I fear some parts were once again hidden to stop those wishing to learn from this book alone. What comes next is the magic itself. Fully drenching a brush with the mix, one should connect to the void and visualise water never touching the symbol. A first circle will be done around the symbol in the paper, as the mage brings forth the enchantment onto all sides of it. The paper will be painted on, never to be wet once more again. On the second pass of the brush around the symbol the image of the symbol never breaking should be brought from the void, and on the third passage the image of fire never destroying it. And thus the magic would be created, and the paper never to be easily destroyed. Never was it claimed that it would be indestructible and there much be a force to combat it."
