Ser Athirius paces through the barracks to the command room, swiping two unopened letters from the barracks table and crumpling them both into a single ball. As he enters the command room he effortlessly throws the ball of parchment into the open fireplace, not bothering to watch as it slowly turns black and becomes nothing but ash as it rests upon the hot coals. He slows his pace and comes to a halt at a set of rusting Dragon Guard plate armour hanging upon the room's wall. He lets out a shallow sigh as he runs a finger across, the armour's chest plate, bringing it away coated in a thick layer of dust; All the while thinking of how he has let down his father. The Dragon Guard was dead, and there was nothing Athirius could do about it. He steps back from the armour and slumps himself down in a chair by the command room's table, pulling himself close. He picks a quill up off the oak tabletop and dips it into an ink-pot lying in a small pool of black liquid it where it has been spilt. He picks a slightly crumpled piece of parchment with a stained corner from the center of the table and begins to write.

Upon this day, the Imperial Dragon Guard is officially disbanded. All members are given leave to join other organisations. If no work can be found, it is recommended former members seek Arhadir Owl for work. Vectis Vekon, Tarin Loyola and Tavon Dracaena are to report to myself to receive their new assignment rather than seeking work elsewhere. The five Footmen acting as palace sentries are to keep their posts until further notice.

After signing his name at the bottom of the parchment, Athirius stands from his chair and walks back out into the barracks commonroom. He approaches the notice board and reluctantly tears down the notices about Ser Martin's demise and the laying off of all Dragon Guard Footmen. In their place he pins up the new notice before retreating to his office to gather his things.
