Geo 1415 Share Posted February 15, 2013 The Ritual of Plenty The island string known as Kalos varied from island to island. Whether it be desert, hills or snow. One thing remained certain, they all needed crops to survive. The jungle island of Anthos was certainly able to provide a cool shelter for some crops to grow, however this seemed not to be enough. And as a Moonblade of the Karakatuan Empire returns to the island with quite the catch from his hunt, the Tlatlanni decides that they will sacrifice the ape to Metztli. So that she may bless their crops with many a rain. Word is quickly passed around the island and soon a small group of Kharajyr begin to gather, eager to watch the sacrificial ritual. Eventually one of Metztli's priests appear on the scene as the sacrifice has been strapped down upon the altar by the Moonblade. Despite his cries and screams for help, the conscious sacrifice is ignored and the priest calls for silence of all, to begin the ritual. Finally everything falls to pure silence. Nothing but the harsh giggle of tension that sat between them all. The Kharajyr gave a traditional bow towards the sacrifice and eventually the priest granted them the power to speak once more. They turned to the cackling of a roaring log fire, one of feasible size before one of the Ko' began to cook them up some food. The Kharajyr group burst into wild roars of laughter as they merrily tucked into their feast, accompanied by the loud beating of drums and a /lot/ of rain. The Kharajyr all looked up to the sky as their fire was put out, and saw it as a sign. They thanked the mother moon, the goddess Metztli, for answering their plea of the ritual of plenty. It appeared that the goddess really /was/ still watching over her children, as it should be.
