New Addition To The Little-Folk

Saying that getting to Halfling Island was a challenge would be a gross understatement. Not only had Leena spent almost every Minas just getting to the docks, but once there, she'd had to wander in the rain for hours, trying to find someone of friendly-looking demeanor to ask about a boat that might take her to kin.

Alas, the grand majority running about the docks were frightful, powerful looking tall-folk, and Leena could barely muster up a 'a'scuse me' without stuttering and losing her nerve. The worst was when an Orc, no doubt looking for passage, decided to have a merry time chasing her to the end of a dock and urging her to jump off. Which, as soon as he took a step closer, she did.

By the time she'd swam to shore and clambered back onto the docks, she was soaking wet, shivering, and definately felt the sniffles coming on. It was by a stroke of pure luck that she'd run into another halfling, who, bless his heart, led her to a barrel-boat that accepted halflings only. With heartfelt thanks, Leena climbed onto the boat, emptied her last Minas into the boatman's hands, and settled down for the ride, daydreaming about a warm hearth, good mead, and even better company.

As Leena sits there day-dreaming, a short man descends the ladder from the deck above. Upon closer inspection one would realize that this is infact a Forest Dwarf, clad in brown robes of simple make. Walking past the table, taking a piece of cake, he continues to the front balcony before stopping to face Leena

"Eh?"

Walking over to the Halfling, the Dwarf stares at her with deep golden eyes. Using his staff to adjust the strange wood-like toad on his shoulder, he takes a bite from his cake

"Yer new. Wut's yer name, Valah'ii?"

((Welcome to the Halflings, Leena! ^.^))

Leena jumps, startled out of her daydreams. "O-Oh! Ah..." Well, he certainly wasn't a halfling, but then again, he did seem to be the rather friendly sort. Murders typically didn't ask their victims their names, of this Leena was more-than-fairly certain. She offers a smile, albeit a nervous one. "Leena Poppyboon, sir."

((Thank you muchly!))

"Ah, well then! Karin'ayla, Miss Poppyboon, t'is a pleasure!"

The strange dwarf stands back up

"Yeh may call meh Ol' Tree'ugger."

He leans on his staff, finishing up his piece of cake. Wiping his mouth on his sleeve, he returns his gaze to the Halfling

"Always guud t' see more 'alflin's at any rate. I'm sure yer kin will b' glad t' see yeh!"
