The Merchants Guild

Primary Objective: The Merchant's Guild carries out tasks for the Grand Merchant, there will be several positions in which each will have their own specific duty. A beginner merchant works his/her way up the ranks, and will be able to do more tasks as he/she ranks up.
 

Ranks/Duty

 
Grand Merchant:"The Grand Merchant” oversees the economy. They are responsible for maintaining a positive balance into the Dwarven Kingdom and also, they’re to make sure that everyone pays their taxes in time, if implemented. The Grand Merchant is in charge of keeping the capitol’s vault and stockpile stored, organised and secure. The stockpile is for general use of the kingdom and for trade with other nations. The vault is for storage of the wealth of our nation, seldom taken from. It is the duty of the Grand Merchant to visit frequently with our allies and other states of interest to conduct trade agreements of resources in need. It is also the duty of the Grand Merchant to define the pricing of all kingdom’s goods, services of the kingdom, homes, mining permits, and wages; taxes and tariffs if implemented. Therefore, it is important that this dwarf be
mina-wise.
 
Head Merchant: The Head Merchant is the Grand Merchant's assistant, he/she carries out the same roles as the Grand Merchant, however all final decisions must be made through the Grand Merchant and they cannot make final decisions on their own.
 
Traveling Salesmen: The traveling salesmen is a delivery man, they deliver items to other nations or within the nation. All traveling salesmen must take orders from a Head Merchant or Grand Merchant for what they should deliver and to where.
 
Advertising Salesmen: Just as the name suggests, the advertising salesmen will be advertising for the nation. They shall travel the roads and make postings on what the nation has to sell. Any out of the ordinary advertising methods must be consulted with the Head and Grand Merchant.
 
Shop Salesmen: These salesmen will be selling the nation's good in their respective shops. Pricing on food/minerals will be already set , and they cannot make changes. Their only objective is to make sales for maximum profit. It is recommended that the advertising salesmen see eye to eye with the advertising salesmen to have maximum efficiency.

I am afraid not for long, my age numbers only 83 years. But youthful energy is a must when selling goods and trying to convince potential buyers that they need these said goods.

Aye, I've been a merchant all my life. Devoting my time to Armakak and his will.

How long have yeh been in da' Kingdom?

I'm 413 years old, and climbing! I wasn't introduced into the dwarven Kingdom until after the lands of Aegis I'm afraid. I'd say 300 years, more or less.

Why should yeh beh selected fer' dis position?

I believe I should be selected because I have the right mentality for a Head Merchant. I know how to give orders, but also know when to consult my higher ups. When I am un-sure of something, I'll always bring it to someone's attention and confirm, in the event I don't do that anyways. I also believe I should be selected for this prestigious position because of my vast amount of connections throughout the kingdoms. I am on very good terms with the Royal Family of Salvus, The Hightowers. This can serve well and open up a lot of trading opportunities for the Kingdom. On a side note Moruk, I do hope you see past my ignorance of words in the past, and urge you to let me serve by your side. I'd serve you with all the respect and life in my body. I'd never let you down!

Aye, I've been a merchant since the earliest days of Asulon. Before I returned to my dwarven homeland, I ran a sucessful mining shop in Hanseti. Once I moved back to the Kingdom, I ran another mining shop in Karik.

How long have yeh been in da' Kingdom?

As my family left the Kingdom while I was a young child, I lived among humans for many years. I returned to the Kingdom as an adult, about 60 or 70 years ago, back when Paragon Kjell ruled in Mount Ire. ((Late Spring / Early Summer 2012, IRL))

Why should yeh beh selected fer' dis position?

As a Goldhand, the merchant life flows in my veins with the blood of my fathers. I've a knack for the transformation of fine ores and minerals into minas. My two previous mining shops have both been successful, and I know I could do it again, either inside the bustling halls of Kal'Azgoth, or out in the world of the humans and elves, bringing the fruits of dwarven craftsmanship to the rest of Anthos for a tidy profit.
