Calling for all Willing purses...

I recently arrived in the City of Horengrad with nothing more than a broken sword and five minas. I'm still here... only without the minas, and with a dream. To restore and open the Library at the corner of Row Street and Topside Avenue.

Books are my passion and I wish to bring them to Oren Capital so everyone can know the joy of knowledge as I do should they wish it. Broke as I am, I can not realize this dream on my own, so please I ask the citizens of Oren to share the gift of education with all.

Either with your help or on my own, I will one day own that building, and fill it with books. If you wish to help me I will need:

30 Horens to purchase the old building.

30 Empty Books

30 Ink Sacks

30 Feathers

-or-

30 Books and Quill

1 Bed

5 Chests

30 Signs

30 Blank Maps

-or-

30 Compasses

Any amount of paper

Thank you in advance my friends, and fellow citizens of the Empire,

~ Myoni Hartsdottir

(( Its Myoni's dream to surround herself with books, bibliophile scribe and all, just a cry for help in a sea of swords swinging.

Walking past the notice board with his guards, Augustus Blackmont stopped and approached the average posting. He read it with a bare minimum amount of attention but felt strangely drawn to the cause. Whistling for ink and paper, he had a response written, which was posted in response to the original request.

"To Miss Myoni Hartsdottir,

Per your request for economic support, it is in the interest of the Lord Augustus Blackmont of the Dreadfort to donate a shipment of  [thirty-two] iron ingots, to be used at your discretion to fund the library. It will be sent to you as soon as possible. He hopes that this resource will be put to good use for the advancement literature in the Empire."

A new letter is pinned to the notice board...

"On behalf of myself and the world of Literature I would like to thank the generousness of Oren's Nobility and Military for their donations to my cause. In thanks to Ser Charles Greymane for the purchase and donation of the Library and Lord Augustus Blackmont for his , I will be naming the establishment in both these men's honor and will announce the opening of the Blackmont Greymane Inscribements and Literature as soon as possible.

Thank you Oren,

Myoni Hartsdottir"

Jonathan Black is walking past the notice board as well when he abruptly stops and begins to read it. He feels drawn in as well; he reads over every word? When's the last time he had seen a library? As in, one with books? Now, when was the last time he had seen someone get their head cut off? A illiterate child roaming the streets?

He had made up his mind and wrote a reply.

"To Miss Myomi Hartsdottir,

I, Noble Ser Jonathan Black, feel it is of the utmost importance for the capital city of Oren to have a sufficient library for its subjects. It is the will of the Creator that we understand the world around us for His glory. As such, I will donate the ink sacks and perhaps more supplies in the near future to you. I'd like to remind you to keep the content of your library appropriate to an Oren audience, however, as it is of great importance that heretical writings find no foothold in the Realm. I believe you already understand this, however. I wish you the best of luck and will have the ink to you as soon as possible."

I have decided that I will be selling maps of Oren in addition to literature, as I still enjoy my travels and I will do my best to create them as I can. As well I would like to thank Ser Black for donation of Ink to my humble store, and with that I will be announcing that books will be -sold- rather than rented, and all proceeds will go to the creation of new books as well as payment of authors and Mapmakers (and keeping me alive to sell them!). I will be making my home in the book store in one of the adjacent rooms.

I will also be offering my services as a scribe and writer as well as a teacher if needed. I take great heart in capturing the stories of Oren's heroes and their triumphs, and so the first book I will have available is Lord Blackmont's Conquest of Seventis. I will not turn away any Oren literature that is of quality no matter its subject, a man of Religion should be a man of wisdom, and the conquest of knowledge is a wise pursuit. But following the request of my donors, I will stamp any books that contain heretical or otherwise pagan ideals for their content.

Thank you for your continued support my friends,

Your's Truly,

~Myoni

Nicodemus cannot help but smile, reading the notice board. He was once a voracious reader and collector of books as well, though his focus has narrowed with time. Nicodemus feels a sudden twinge of guilt at not being able to donate much. He walks home and decides to pen a note to the woman.

(The city is called Abresi :/)

((You probably should make a topic on it.))

Bishop Edward marches to noticeboard to leave a note of his own. It reads:

"Good day Myoni, it has come to my attention that you own a library, I would love to know the whereabouts of this library if you may. As I am the pastor of the Reims Cathedral, please report any books with heretical references to the church of Oren. These books will be confiscated immediately, I hope this note reaches you safely."

The letter is folded up as it is pinned, a fresh stamp of the Reims seal lies on it, sealing the paper. The letter is signed by Edward.
