Definitions

In your own
words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from
elsewhere!:

 

Role-playing:
Taking up another name and creating a life for your character. Essentially, to
act out a character you create.

Meta-gaming:
Taking information from the outside world into the game or using texting chat or modern slang in game. for example if I were to tell a friend in skype to save me from some bandits and say where I was and he used the information IG that would be meta gaming because he is using out side information that his character would not know. so basically Meta-gaming is taking any out side information that you know and using it in character.

Power-emoting:
Forcing action upon a player or making your character superman where your guy never dies and can dodge about any swing thrown at him. for example if someone was to try to attack me and just said "swings at your body taking off your arm" it would be power gaming but if he were to put the word attempt into this action it would follow rules. Basically  power gaming/ emoting makes it so the this person always gets their way and is against the roles.

Full Name:
Kalin Ashford

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Kalin Ashford was born on a mid summers eve in the land of
Orin. His father was a farmer from Salvus who deiced to steal down to the
countryside and make a farm to live a peaceful life with his family. Kalin only
had one brother named Matthew who was ten years older than him. Kalins early
childhood consisted mainly of him sitting on the porch of their farm house,
looking out to his father and brother in the fields.

        When Kalin turned 7 his father took him
out for his first day of field work. Day after day Kalin would go to sleep with
blisters, but this hardened him and made him strong. When he was was nine,
nothing would grow and the fields could not produce anything that year. One day
when Kalin was getting some feed for the chickens he over heard an argument
between his brother and father. Intrigued he put down the feed and snuck over
to the window of the house and tried to make out as much as he could but all he
heard was something about the city and the land being all dried up. The
following week his brother went missing with no trace.

        For the next ten years Kalin took over
most of the operation of the farm. Strange things began to happen though,
Animals would get spooked in the middle of the night and food would just
disappear. One night his father felt very ill and had a fever so Kalin went out
to fetch some water from the well. When was half way there he saw a figure
standing on the boarder of the farm. He cried out to it, but it ran into the
brush. Forgetting the water Kalin ran back to the house and grabbed a kitchen
knife and sat by his father’s bed. He woke up the next morning to find that
nothing was taken that night.

        For the next week everything was back to
normal his father said that he was fine and not to worry. Kalin decided to take
the trips into town since his father was sick and week. When Kalin returned he
found the farm house and barn on fire. He left the cart and ran for the well.
He tried to extinguish the fire with bucket after bucket, But he was not fast
enough. The celling    of the barn
collapsed trapping the animals inside. Leaving the barn he rushed for the house
but as he was running he saw the same figure he saw a week ago looting his
cart. Kalin rush to the figure and knocked him down with all his force. The man
fell and Kalin quickly held him there and turned him around to see his face. As
he look at the face he realized that it was his brother and Kalin quickly let
go of him.

        He was about to ask why he would do something
like this and where he had been for the past ten years, but before he could
even say a word his brother kicked out his legs and Kalin fell and everything
went black. When he woke everything was burnt to the ground. Kalin was stricken
with grief as he went to the house to search for remains of his father but
found nothing left but ashes and his iron sword. Kalin stood there there and
vowed that he would find out why matthew would do this and kill anyone else
involved. From that day on Kalin has been traveling from town to town, city to
city, until he found himself in the city of Salvus.

Ambitions for the Future: Kalin does not plan much for
the future, but just wants to live in the moment and to find his brother.

Personality: He is quiet, but is usually
dark and seeks justice for the wrong doings of others. His grim attitude makes
many resent him.

Skills: He is stealthy, good at bartering, decent with a
sword, and he is very strong.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Tall and built up with muscle
with a scar on his left arm. He is bald and has a full beard. He usually wears
basic cotton and leather clothes. He has blue eyes and has dark brown hair, but
none on his head.

about your character: From living on the farm he lacks a basic education, He has a
hard time reading and can not write.

1. Whilst in the mighty human
capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

 

Answer: Kalin Says nothing and follow the man, the man begins to scale
the wall so Kalin picks up the closest rock and tries to throw the rock to
knock him off the wall. The rock hits the man square in the back and the man
comes crashing to the ground. When he hits the ground kalin rushes to him and
puts a knife to the man’s throat. “don’t move and tell me who you are and why
you’re here” said Kalin. The man said nothing and spit in kalins face. Kalin
presses the knife a bit drawing abit of blood. The man begins to panic and trys
to jerk out of kalin’s grasp. Kalin’s hand jerks and he accidently slits his
throat. Kalin sighs and wipes off the blood on the mans jacket and walks away
and goes about his day.

 

 

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you
come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable
old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

 

Answer: Kalin crouches low and sneaks up behind the two men. He tries
to knock out one of the men with the butt of his sword. The bandit falls to the
ground with a thump. The other man jumps in surprise and drops the dagger.
Kalin rushes to the man and lifts him up by his colar. “who are you and who do
you work for?!” shouted kalin. The man began to cry and muttering something
about his mom. Kalin sighs and slaps the man trying to get him to talk normaly.
“stop crying and I will think about not kill you” said kalin. The bandit calms
down and begins to talk normaly. “My name is barren and my brother and I don’t
work for anyone” said the bandit. Kalin sighs and throws the man on the ground
and kicked him in the side of the head. Kalin looks up to the old man and says
“their fate are in your hands now kill them or don’t I don’t care”. The man
just stood there looking up at kalin saying noting. Kalin just walked away not
caring what would happen to the two bandits.

 

 

3. You are standing within the
mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of
general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

 

Answer: Kalin walks up to the stand and looks over some goods until
his eyes land on a elven dagger and elven rope. “how much for the rope and
dagger?” said kalin. The man looks at the dagger and ropes and thinks for a
minete. “500 mimas for both” said the man. “How about 300 mimas and you have a
deal” said kalin. “ are you trying to rob me blind” said the man “this blade
alone is worth at least 400 mimas”. Kalin thought for a long time then decided
to pull a clever trick. “I will give you 350 mimas and when ever you are
traveling through the country side I will give you a room in my farm house and
enough food to last you for 3 towns” said kalin. “deal” said the man and he
quickly handed over the items. Kalin smiled took the items and marked his home
on a map for the merchant. Kalin put the items in his bag and went to the inn
and slept a very happy man.
