Out-Of-Character Information
Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate.

Minecraft Account Name: Chapatrap
How old are you?: 14
Time-Zone: GMT 0+
Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes, they seem fair enough.
What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have spent the last year or so Roleplaying in the Forum RP section of this very forum. I also have an account on the RPGuild, which I spend less time on. I have RP'ed on Minecraft servers before but not for a while now.
How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: A friend told me how bad it was and I am curious to see whether or not he is true. I am almost certain it is not true.
Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: Two bad, immature apps from a year ago:
http://www.lordofthe...d-applications/
http://www.lordofthe...-my-second-app/

Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above):

Have you read the Dwarven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: It was quite hard to get a hold of the relevant lore, as it looks like the Wiki hasn’t been updated in some time, so I am going off purely what it says in the Application Guide thread on Dwarves. Forgive me if the lore is wrong but I’m going by what it says in the Dwarves! thread in the forum.
Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

Role-playing: Taking control of a character, either premade or made by you and living out their lives, their futures, what they were doing yesterday and how they did it.
Meta-gaming: Using out of character information in Character. If I for example met Jimmy in RP but I had never met him before IC, I can't go 'Hiya, Jimmy!'
Power-emoting: Or Powergaming is pretty much doing impossible things or doing something to another character without letting them react. An example would be me meeting Jimmy, tying up Jimmy and throwing him into a car without letting him fight back and without explaining where the car and rope came from.

In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Rodkas Rockquarry
Current Age: 105
Sub-race (if any): Mountain Dwarf
Clan (if any): Irongut
Past / History:
Rodkas was born in the mining colony Kal'Dwain (before it was destroyed), only son of Veldin, a mountain dwarf and Curin Rockquarry, a Forest Dwarf. Sadly, Curin died in childbirth, so Rodkas was raised solely by his father. His father and mother were both miners, straining away in the mines for months on end. In fact, Rodkas was born in the mines, which probably was the cause of Curin dying in childbirth. From a very young age, the young Beardling was in the mines with small wooden pickaxe, next to his father, mining away little pieces of stone. It was at this young age Rodkas discovered shiny things. Diamonds, Lapis Lazuli, even the occasional Emerald. When the minecarts passed by, full to the brim with precious metals and gems, Rodkas’s eyes would follow them. At the age of 24, Rodkas’s tiny brain formulated a very silly plan to take an emerald when the minecart passed by. When the minecart did pass, Rodkas walked alongside it and stuck his pudgy in the cart, which was filled with gems and took an emerald. Of course, this was seen by quite a few Dwarves and he received quite a few slaps for said incident. Although Rodkas was punished and swore never to do it again, he still holds this obsession with shiny things and treasure to this very day.

Of course, not all mines last forever. After almost 50 years of continuous mining, the mine system soon ran dry and to make things worse, the Drake attack came. Rodkas and Veldin only survived by cowering in the mines until it sounded safe. So, the entire mining operation was shut down and was relocated to another mine. Unfortunately, Veldin Rockquarry were not involved in this relocation programme and was sacked. With Kal'Dwain in ruins, Veldin moved himself and Rodkas to the wilds, a few miles away from a small Dwarven town within Irongut land. Now, luckily enough, Veldin Rockquarry, Rodkas’s father, found a job in the local lumber industry, cutting wood. By now, Rodkas was in his adolescence and like most Dwarves at that age, he got bored pretty quickly. The lumber cutting only employed Veldin, so Rodkas was left wandering around the small town and the surrounding countryside, exploring. He passed his time wrestling, persuading the local innkeeper to give him alcohol and exploring the countryside. Despite being an Irongut, he always felt a bit out place, seeing as his mother was a Forest Dwarf and he didn't really get on with many people.. Rodkas, because of the pure boredom, became rather bad-tempered. Wrestling matches were usually only on during the evenings, so he was stuck looking for something to do. Veldin did his best for his son but he could see the young Dwarf getting grumpier by the day. When he turned 85, Rodkas decided what to do. He left his home to explore. With somewhat relieved goodbyes from his neighbours, Rodkas set off across countryside, with the clothes on his back and a crude, home-made stone axe his only possessions.

Rodkas went across the Dwarven Kingdom, dodging the skirmishes and groups of Orcs that seemed to be increasingly frequent across the land. He lived simply, passing from town to town, doing odd jobs for locals in exchange for food or a place to stay. He didn’t know what he was looking for. He just wanted it to be exciting. Being the young and inexperienced Dwarf he was, he didn’t find anything. By the time he was 97, Rodkas had given up and gone home, bitter and disappointed. He has stayed there for some time, working at the lumber mill in replacement of his father Veldin, who hurt his back while wrestling one evening and is now confined to hobbling along for a good 100 years or more. The call of the wild is calling Rodkas back, however. He longs to be back in the Dwarven countryside, adventuring, roughhousing, having a good time and womanising. The rallies calling for young Dwarves to fight the Orcs and Sabudai almost persuaded him to leave, if not for his father telling him to stay. Veldin cannot keep his son back forever. Young Rodkas Rockquarry, only just an Adult longs to explore the continent, meeting Elves, fighting Orcs and drinking with Humans. But overall, Rodkas wants adventure. He wants to find treasure, become famous, become…rich.

Ambitions for the Future: Rodkas wants to live life to the fullest, in a rather grumpy way. He wants to explore Asulon and find fame and fortune. He would like to meet new people and go to new places. Overall, he wants to find treasure.
Personality: Rodkas is, to put it mildly, grumpy. OThers have called him irate, quick to anger, a short temper. But grumpy is a big factor. If a child bumps into him, he'll be on the poor critter, red faced and screaming at the top of his lungs. However, when he is a lot happier with a few pints of ale in his system, almost a different person. Although having few friends, he is very protective of Dwarves in general and proud of his Dwarven upbringing. He is capable of swinging an axe and will rarely back down from a fight.

However, he still has a curious side. If there’s an undiscovered cave, Rodkas will usually be the Dwarf pushing everyone aside and running inside himself. As such, he can be very head-strong and rash. Because he has only escaped his adolescence, he can pretty immature occasionally. He likes to think of himself as being older than he actually is and expects everyone to realise this.
Skills: Due to being a Dwarf, he can handle a pickaxe and a drink better than most. His best skill is probably his eye for gems and money, like a magpie. His legs are short, so running long distances without frequent rest isn’t on Rodkas’s agenda.
Appearance:

Any other details you wish to share about your character: Rodkas is an Atheist, thinking all the ‘gods’ and religion is just silly trickery and things to tell young Beardlings before they go to sleep. Being young and stubborn as he is, he will make rash decisions that will most likely get him injured or even killed. Hopefully not.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____

1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do?

Answer:
Rodkas, pickaxe on his shoulder, smiles slightly. His shaggy head goes from left to right, checking for perhaps a waiting beastie or some other ore. He hangs his now cracked stone pickaxe from his belt and carefully pulls another, improved pickaxe wrapped in cloth from his pack. Iron Pickaxe in hand, Rodkas drops his pack, filled with cheap ores and cobblestone, onto the ground in front of the bridge. He walks slowly, foot touching the small bridge. Although it seemed stable enough, Rodkas had spent enough time in the mines to know not everything was as it seemed. He walks carefully, one foot at a time, listening carefully. The slightest shift in the ravine at this point could be fatal.
The bridge shakes slightly as he nears the middle. Rodkas almost jumps from his skin when a rock drops the bottom of the bridge and now he realises it won’t last long. Rodkas breaks out into a jog, pick still in hand. The weak bridge was beginning to crack at Rodkas’s feet and he panicked. Rodkas ran full out to the other end of the ravine, the bridge beginning to collapse around him. He jumps the last few feet hangs from the ledge. He glanced down and saw the last of the bridge being swallowed by darkness. A few seconds later, the crash echoed up the ravine as the bridge landed heavily onto the ground.  Rodkas quickly climbed the ledge, using his pickaxe as help up. Now he faced the diamond ore. ‘Batter be worth it’ he murmurs as he plunges his Iron pick into the ore.

2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do?

Answer:
Rodkas laughs heartily at a joke told by another dwarf sitting nearby, chugging down the warm ale. He finished with a large, unsanitary burp and slams the mug onto the bar, demanding another drink. He glances towards the crying Beardling and frowns. ‘Ye wan’ a drink, wee laddie?’ he growls, staring the young Dwarf down. His breath, heavy with the sickening smell of alcohol, goes straight up the poor young dwarves nose, causing him to cough loudly, interrupted with a sob halfway through. Rodkas doesn’t notice the two shady dwarves approaching and instead gives the Beardling a pat on the back. ‘Ye’ shan’t be worrin’, wee laddie’ he smiles. ‘Wha’ever yer’ crying bout’ can be fixed wit’ a good ale!’ he smiles suddenly, grabbing his ale and pushing it in the Beardling’s hands. The Beardling doesn’t even attempt to grab the ale and it drops to the ground, forgotten about. The Beardling cries louder and Rodkas frowns. Why was this young dwarf crying? Did he lose a family member? Or a favourite toy? But he was clutching the small wooden hammer….

Rodkas felt a tap on his back that distracted him from his thoughts and turned to see a pair of dwarves staring at him, one with a knife in his hand and the other with a fake-looking smile on his face. ‘Aye?’ he asked, unsure what the newcomers wanted. He glances at the Dwarf with the knife and frowns even deeper, wrinkles appearing around his brow. ‘Aye, my yung’ un ‘ere, Flak, ‘as been missin’ fer days now. Thank ye’ fer findin’ him’ fake smiles one of the Dwarves, nodding towards the Beardling. He grabs the Beardling by the hand and roughly pulls him from the bar stool. The Beardling drops his wooden hammer and cries loudly. No one else in the bar notices, of course, being too drunk or talking loudly to friends. Rodkas jumps down from his bar stool and lifts up the wooden hammer. ‘Wha’ do yas’ think yer doing?’ he growls at the Dwarves. ‘If tis’ was yer’ Beardling, ‘e wouldn’ be crying ‘is wee eyes out!’. The Dwarves fake smile drops and is turned to snarl, sharp yellow teeth appearing behind his lips. ‘Be careful, ye stupid dwarf ye! Ye shan’t get involved’ he snarls, drawing a knife too. The Beardling yowls loudly, this time attracting the stares of a few other regulars.
Things were quickly swirling towards a fight as Rodkas grabbed the first thing he could find. The mug of ale, sitting on the bar. He throws the ale into the face of one of the Dwarves, who screams as the alcohol goes into his eyes. The other dwarf lands a punch onto Rodkas’s face, hitting him in the temple and giving him a brain shake. Rodkas stumbles backwards into his bar stool and falls, smacking his head off the stone ground. The Dwarf roughly grabs the Beardling by the arm and grabs his friend, who is yowling with pain, towards the door. Several of the dwarves shout drunkenly as the shady Dwarves leave but none make any move to follow them. Someone lays Rodkas up against the wall, where he lays for hours, dazed and confused at what just happened.

3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react?

Answer:
Rodkas turns his bearded head at the bar owner. ‘Wha’ de’ ye’ think yer’ doin’ oot ‘ere?’ asked Rodkas, curious at the fact a barkeeper was in the middle of the Dwarven Carverns and not in his tavern, serving mugs of ale or breaking up fights. The bar-keep keeps staring and grinning, in a rather creepy way. There was something not right here. Rodkas stares at the bar-keep, a rather puzzled look on his face. The barkeep keeps staring, that same grin on his face. Rodkas shakes his head in confusion and turns to continue wandering. He jumps back in surprise of seeing the bar-keep in front of him, the same mug of ale in hand, the same smile on his bearded face. ‘I cannae ‘ave an ale, I am…busy’ he says, still unnerved. How did the bar-keep get in front of him so quickly and without him noticing? Whoever this person was, it wasn’t a bar-keep…

The bar-keep’s head turns to the side and the smile is replaced with a frown. ‘Ye don’ wan’ an ale?’ he says slowly. Rodkas shakes his head. He was starting to get annoyed now. ‘Go…away’ he says through gritted teeth. The Bar-Keep’s frown turns to a scowl. Not any ordinary scowl. His face twists into a horrible scowl, the kind of scowl you would have to perfect in front of a mirror. The mug of ale disappears from his hand and the bar keep shows his true colour. He was now holding a knife, the mug of ale behind him in the darkness. Rodkas gulps and slowly reaches for the Pickaxe on his back. The scowling dwarf moved in unimaginable speeds and dug the knife into Rodkas’s arm. ‘AH, yer fecking bastard, yer!’ swears Rodkas loudly, collapsing to the ground, clutching his arm. The sounds of the dwarf running into the darkness echo around Rodkas, who was swearing and calling him every name under the sun. Rodkas rises, the pain in his arm subsiding slightly and with all his might, pulls the dagger from his arm. The dagger had a black hilt and was slick with dwarf blood. The wound was an evil looking black colour and seemed to be closing up as he looked at it. Clutching his arm, the dwarf hobbled back to safety. Back to home.
(( This isn’t canon, by the way. I just thought I would beef it up a little bit ))
