His mother worked as a barkeeper at the local tavern and his father worked as a blacksmith, forging and selling the finest armor, weapons, and tools. He didn’t make much due to the amount of blacksmiths in the market square, but with his wife’s salary at the tavern, they had enough put Yulri out of the slums. Yulri’s education was limited to his father’s homeschooling, learning to read and write and sometimes he was taught history of Kal’Karik. And when he didn’t barter with the dwarves at his father’s market stand, he would cause mischief in the city’s streets with his friend Nandor. When they were done with their trickery, they would relax on the rooftops, often talking about the wildest things. Nandor would often bring the conversation towards the city’s army and how it would be to enlist once he was of age. Yulri would sometimes think about such affairs at night while attempting to fall asleep. Once of the age, Yulri enlisted into the city’s army with his friend Nandor. Yulri would then about a years worth of military training when his father took him out and forced him to work in the city’s mines at the season of 3. His friend Nandor joined the city’s army and later became a Commander. He lead an exhibition to take care of bandits attacking Dwarven merchants in the mountains and died in combat. Yulri would then mine for a good deal of his lifetime. He would mine by day, taking every shift he could work, and forge by night, becoming his father’s apprentice in his blacksmith job. And once work became too much, he would turn to the local tavern where he would drink his cuts and bruises away with a fine Blaze’s Brandy. But the more he worked, the more he found himself at the tavern. Lucky for him, that same tavern would be the place where he met his wife, Eileen Ang’dyny Itir. She was the most beautiful and respected dwarf in the city, all men respected her, even those who don’t respect respected her! She had gorgeous amber eyes with red braided hair that was decorated with the most ravishing gems. It was love at first sight, for him at least. It took awhile to convince her to marry him. He brought her Red Roses and Blonde Blossoms everyday after his mining shifts, he even learned to play the lute for her, singing the most romantic songs to her at the tavern. And when he was in his fifth season, she finally said yes. But in their sixth season together, a band of slum theifs took Eileen’s life. Yulri never bounced back from her loss and he now spends most of his nights at the local tavern, drinking his sorrows away. He quit his job as a miner and took the blacksmith job when his dad died of Ki’katta. He now lives a lonely life of smithing for the city and late and frequent tavern visits. Ambitions for the Future: To quit his job as a blacksmith and enlist in the army once more but not as a soldier, but as one of the army’s blacksmith, forging the finest armor and weapons for the army Personality: Before his wife’s death, Yulri was a kind and cheerful dwarf, whistling tunes as he worked and taking the extra working hours for his father. But when his wife was killed by slum thieves, he became a bitter, rude, and lonely dwarf who angers a bit too easy and has no friends. He back mouths the bartender, stole gems from the mines that reminded him of his late wife’s eyes, and curses at the city’s law enforcement. Overall, though, he is a tough dwarf who takes orders from no one. Skills: His skills started out as fighting when he enlisted in the army but it soon would become mining when his father forced him to work in the village mine. Mining would be his primary skill throughout his life with the additional blacksmith apprenticeship. But when his father died, his smithing skills improved when he quit his miner job and became the village blacksmith. Smithing is the only thing he does now-a-days. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do? Answer: “Oy! Would ya look at tha size o’ tha dimond!” Yulri tips his head over the rock bridge, kicking a few rocks over into the ravine. He looks up, takes a deep breath, and sucks in his beer gut as he edges towards the bridge. He turns to his side and starts to shimmy towards the precious rock. He starts to chant to himself: “Doan’t look doon, Doan’t look doon” and of course he looks down, seeing the depthness of the ravine again and almost loses his footing. He regains focus and continues to move across the rope bridge singing a dwarf tune to calm himself down. He then notices the rock bridge is about to give in, he curses a dwarf swear and makes a run for it. And as he gets closer to the shiny rock, the bridge catches up to him, almost crumbling beneath his feet. He dives for it, almost landing straight on the other side but is hanging on the edge of it by one hand. He musters up the strength to climb up the edge and mine the shiny rock. He then turns around and remembers the rock bridge broke and there's no way across. He sits down and weeps while drinking a flask of ale. 2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do? Answer: Seeing the danger of the situation, Yulri would stand up, fists raised, and tell the two dwarves off. They look at each other and just laugh, and once the laughing session was over, the other dwarf took out his sword from behind his backs and brought all attention towards Yulri. He started to panick being he was out matched and defenseless, he started to randomly throw mugs of ale at the shady dwarves. He missed every throw due to the lack of coordination from the ale he was drinking. In other words, he was drunk and once again, out matched and defenseless. The dwarves continued to edge towards Yulri with fire in each of their eyes. “Oy! Get away fae him!” The young dwarf says and then charges towards the dwarf with the dagger and starts to attack him with his hammer. The dwarf just kicked him and lost all attention towards Yulri and started to edge slowly to the young dwarf. Yulri would then tackle the one with the sword and confiscate his weapon. He would then swing it aimlessly a few times, drop it, and run out of the tavern with the young dwarf around his shoulders, laughing and screaming. 3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react? Answer: I’d first yell “Oy! Get oot! Ye get nae right bein’ here! Ye’ll get yer’self killed!” “Bar ah thaot ya miners wid enjoy some ale?” “O’course we wid! Noo gie me that ale an go back an gat’ tha rest o’ dwarfs some!” The crazy bartend would give Yulri the ale, smile even more, and run back to his tavern to get some more ale. Yulri would laugh to himself and gulp the ale down and continue his adventure through the Dwarven Caverns. He would then dress up as a different dwarf so once the crazy bartend would come around again, he would score himself some more ale.
