Important: All Halflings And Future Halflings Read

 Share

Recommended Posts

Alright, so as many of the Halflings know, we've hit a little rough patch with losing the Elders, the Sheriff, and SuperSodaPops who were almost the face of Halflings. We aren't dead yet, not by a long shot, but can we just ask a few things from the new Halflings about, or those wishing to become Halflings. We're not going to dictate you're a clone of the average Halfling, but you can't go around breaking lore and such. The reason Halflings are so much fun is because we all stand to a social understanding to be, more or less, on the same field. In light of recent events we have written this short long post. Please do read it all the way through before commenting.

First off: Read up on lore, this is something I learned the hard way, and is why I struggled as a Halfling at first glance. Reading up on lore will tell you a basic history of Halflings, who we are, what we look like, how the common Hobbit acts, etc. Again, you don't have to be a spitting image of the "Ideal Halfling" but don't be too far off, understand? Reading "LoTR" and "The Hobbit" will also give you a type of understanding, with also watching the movies (even though the books are better!) Actually, I encourage you to be otherwise a bland farmer. We need some new faces, maybe a teacher? A doctor?

Secondly: We ask as Halflings you restrict adventuring at the moment. That doesn't mean you must sit in Lenfarthing with your only entertainment being to count grass, but we've (literally) had more halflings in Salvus than Lenfarthing. What's even worse is that some Halflings have never lived or even been to Lenfarthing, which leads into some un-lore like Halflings. Ya, go to Salvus and steal the pillows, fine, but actually be a Halfling. There's more than enough newbies who take being a Halfling as being a "funny mini-human" which isn’t exactly the type of thing we look for, nor is it following the lore.

Thirdly: Being a Halfling is not like being an Elf, Dwarf, Human, Kha, or an Orc. As a Halfling, you are apart of the community in a large way. Halflings are not nearly as large as any other race, so your words mean a lot. You want to throw a party? Say so. You want to make an adventure around Witchwood? Go ahead! You want to overthrow the Elders? No, you will die. Ha, anyhow, you can do what YOU want, as long as it's fun. fun fun fun fun, that's a word you may not be able to find. Hobbits hold under the idea that "why do anything if it's not fun?". Being a Halfling is to create laughs ands share laughs with others. If you have fun bleeding, or making others bleed with a weapon, don't be a Halfling. You're a Halfling to sit in a burrow drinking tea, talking about the new crops or the "tall 'uns" news, and at night to dance and drink ale.

I somehow feel you are saying this about the Ferrett family.

Not just you, although you are included there's way more halflings out than in Lenfarthing. On an unrelated note... Fish are no longer allowed in Lenfarthing.

There are eight of us and the reason we are not in Lenfarthing is because there is nothing for us there. We were offered land by a House in Oren faster then a burrow.

Well, now that there are actually people in Lenfarthing would you consider moving here?

Guess you not a lore-like Halfling if you decide living with humans is better than Halflings just because of time.

Richard, please stay out of this.

Richard, we would have moved to Lenfarthing if there were people there to give us burrows, which there were not. And we cannot be homeless.
