Ooc Information On Magical Subtypes

This is a problem that I've wanted mended for a bit....

Many of the magic subtypes have a real lack of description for anyone to begin learning self taught. Self teaching requires you to know OOCly what the magic is about, it's limits, abilities etc, and slowly have your character learn of it through IC methods like books and such. Those who are taught by teachers find all of these things 100% IC.

What I want to know is if there are any plans to write more specific things on each magic subtype within the wiki or on the forums by the lore team or magic team so that self teaching users might be able to better form their characters and avoid pging. As of now, it seems the descriptions are scarce, if even existent. Thanks in advance for your consideration and thoughts.

If you think of it in a different matter, how would your character know the information if you do not know it yourself OOC? Self teaching is not only means learning from books, but searching yourself in character about the bases of the magic by talking, listening, discussing things with other characters. Also because of the fact that normally magic users do not want to just give away their magic, not many actually write books about it, so self teaching would still be very very very hard IC.

As for the information you require for the subtypes, they are explained briefly, and part of the magic guide has been releaced for the dark arts and the arcane, yet the other types have not been releaced yet.

Also, most types can not be self taught, like the druid, cleric, monk and frost witch magic. For you to learn these magics you have to be part of the group. This leaves arcane, shaman magic and necromancy, but since the shamans are all orcs, an non orc would not have much chance of gathering information about the spirits and how to gain contact with them, it would be almost impossible to be self taught, even if some have done it. For necromancy, a guide has been done explaining all parts of it. This leaves us with only arcane, of which there are some types but it all starts the same:

1. You would need your character to connect to the void.

2. Your character would have to create something in the void.

3. Your character would remove from the void and bring to the realm.

All arcane magic works that way, but to create something in the void, the character will have to have great knowledge of what he is creating. As such this would only fit into the subtypes now.

Evocation is the creation and control of elements: fire, wind, earth, water, electricity.

Conjuration is the creation of living beings, like squirls, toads, rabbits, etc.

Alteration is changing something in the realm. Telekinises and enchanting are part of this.

Illusion is the creation of non real sense (sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste, and emotions) by creating them in the mind of someone.

Runesmithing is the creation of runes and making it enter in contact with the void. It can only be done by dwarves.

The wiki and a guide are being done, right now the guide only contains the dark arts and arcane magic, it is found here: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/85046-magic-guide/

[edit] If there is any follow up question I am sorry that I will probably not be able to answer in time as I need to get some sleep. Another member will help you if it is as such.
