Definitions

In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions
from elsewhere!

Role-playing: Creating a fake character that you play throughout its “life”

Meta-Gaming: For instance if I see a character name
behind a mountain I can’t say “oh lets go see how the view is on top of this
mountain.” In other words if I in real life know information it doesn’t
necessarily mean my character in game does.

Power-Gaming: If I’m an assassin I can’t say “sneak up
behinds the guard and slits his throat silently”. I have to give the
character/person in game time to react to my actions.

In-Character Information:

Complete the following biography on your character:

Full Name: Riondil Seni

Current Age: 257
Lineage: Father was a cross between a High Elf and a Wood Elf, and my mother
was a pure Nothernor. Both died in the war in Aegis.
Past / History (includes childhood, major-events, and etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

Born during the war in Aegis I was an
oddity when it came to children of my lineage. My hair is a dirty blonde and my
eyes a darkish blue. My build slightly broader than the average human, the only
thing that gives my elvish descent away are my pointed ears. By the time I hit
thirty I realized that like my father I was blessed or rather cursed with the
slow aging that all elves have. My childhood was lucky. After my parents died in
the war I was orphaned on the streets. I survived mostly by stealing. While
stealing from a bread shop one day when I was about 10 I ran out into the street
and came face to face with a local Lord and his squat companion a dwarf. The
lord was just an average human but seemed to bear himself with a regal manner.
He looked me up and down and said “my look at you smart, quick, and a strong
little runt.” I try to hide the bread but the dwarf hobbles around behind and
to see what I was hiding from him. “And it appears a skilled thief, how would
you like to come with me and have dinner for the night”

Knowing better than deny a lord I
follow him back to his manner on a hill. I am bathed then given clothes. I
begin to notice the room around me. Above the fireplace is the portrait of a
boy, slightly bigger than me and looked vaguely familiar. Not really caring I
throw on my clothes which by the time I got them on were slightly larger than
me and headed to the main dining hall. After a rather awkward meal we all sat
back. The lord started looking at me in the most peculiar way. Not wanting to
meet his gaze I looked down in my lap and began to twiddle my thumbs. I looked
up at him as to not be rude and then it hit me I pointed right at him and
exclaimed “You’re the boy the in that portrait above the room aren’t you!” he
smiled at me and said no that instead that was his recently deceased son. He
began to tell me the story behind this rather random dinner. The dwarf sitting
next to him was going to be his son’s trainer along with a few others. His son
was going to be a great knight when one day in a training accident he was
killed. He now has no one to take care of the estates and no heir. So as not to
let the family fortune and land that’s been in his family for centuries he
needed to find an heir. Well to make a very long story short that heir if
everything works out would be me. I was shocked nothing like this ever happened
to normal people, only in fairy tales.

So from that day forwards I was
trained in the art of being a proper knight, not only with the sword but the
pen and tongue as well. At the age of 18 a tragic event became me and my new
found family. A band of bandits came to our house and started to raze it.
Acting quickly I throw on my training leather and long sword and bow. By the
time I got out of the now burned away manor they were gone and they left with
them my foster father lying on the ground. I quickly ran to him taking his hand
in mine. I felt something wet on my face but I didn’t reach up to swipe it
away. He looked at me with piercing gray eyes and started to cough up blood. He
said to me I need to find Ragnorak Torrinand and his brother, he will take me
into care until my training is complete and with that he died. After burying my
father and getting the small belongings that I owned I began my trek to find
this mysterious Ragnorak Torrin who would take me into his care and continue my
training.

Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph
which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and
do not break character or lore at any point.

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure
stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no
good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: I get up from the bench where I was enjoying the warmth of today’s sun.
The streets aren’t very crowded this time of day and it seemed peculiar for
this man to be out at this time. I stretch my legs in preparation for anything
that might come and begin to trail the man. On the way past the guards I take
one by the shoulder and force him to walk with me. I explain the situation
calmly and tell him to run ahead to the keeps gates to warn the guards and I
will stay to follow the man in case something goes awry. The guard nods to me
and cuts right where there is a shortcut to the gates so he can cut ahead. I
trail him till he is at the castle gates. The guard had done his job well and
there was a full team to meet the anonymous man. He stops just out of bowshot
and waits for the guards to hail him. The guard I pulled aside steps forwards
and asks “what business do you have here peasant, now be off with ya” the strange
man doesn’t move but simply offers himself up to the guards. Immediately this
arouses my curiosity and move over to help the guards. I ask if I can watch the
man in case something wrong but in the back of my head I know that this is
either a very clever assassin or a fool. They give me permission and lead me to
where the man will be kept. On the way in I catch a quick glimpse of his face
and notice a piece of gangrene flesh and part of his bare bone, and quickly as
it was there it was gone. As we entered the shadow of the keep I know right
away I had probably gotten myself involved in something much larger then myself
and that I probably shouldn’t be here.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large
clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable
old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits
- they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armor and an
iron long sword, how do you react?

Answer: Not doubting my years of experience and expertise with a blade I step
into the bright sunlight to confront the bandits. Sensing my presence they both
turn around to confront the possibly new threat. I ask them what seems to be
the trouble. Without answering they both look at each other than at me and
charge swords flashing in the sunlight. The first one throws a dagger which I
quickly swipe aside with my blade. By the time I brought my blade to bare the
two were already upon me. Whipping my blade forward I meet the first frenzied
but unskilled attacks with some well-placed parries and blocks. Having them off
balance I begin to push towards the first man. The first I dispatch quickly
with a few short thrusts, he went down with relative ease. While concentrating
on the first man the second managed to jump me from behind. We both end up on
the ground him on top my sword gone from the struggle. He looks me in the eyes
and asks “Any last words?” Seeing no way out of this one I close my eyes and
wait for the end. Suddenly I feel his weight pulled off me, I open my eyes to
the old man forcing his sword through the bandits guts. After cleaning his
blade on the bandits cloak he walks over to me helps me to my feet and says to
me “you still got a lot to learn kid.”

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a
small man standing behind a colorful stall. You approach the stall and notice
that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling
just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you
to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of
choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: Immediately the long sword grabs my eye. I ask permission to test its
weight. Given permission I grab it and heft it off the wooden stall. I give it
a few swings to test its balance and weight. The length fits my build perfectly
and the make is of exceptional quality clearly from a master smith. I must have
this sword; it would be a lovely addition to my arsenal. I examine the hardened
iron for imperfections or cracks. Deep in the many folds of expertly crafted
iron where the smith had molded it I can tell its strength and workmanship was
beyond comparison to anything I had ever seen before. I look at the man tell
him what an incredible sword this is and how he came by it. He told me it was
given to him by a strange man in black robes and an old wooden walking staff.
He told me he got it for a very low price. Immediately I knew this peddler had
gotten it for a bargain, clearly it was worth a lot more. I ask him for triple
what he got it for still not what it’s really worth but more than his asking
price. He immediately agrees with a look of bewilderment, confusion, and
happiness on his face. I walk away happy and he comes out it with a large bag
of coins not knowing the better.

Personally, I rather liked your app, but there are some flaws that jump out at me.

  • You are partially Elf. As a result of this, you are hit with the curses from both races, human life length and elvish infertility.
  • Your definitions need expansion, especially Roleplay. Examples help.
  • Your ORQs should include dialogue, people speaking back and forth, so we get an idea of how you would actually talk in game.
  • You should expand on how your parents actually died, or eliminate that altogether. It's a common cliche.
  • Not necessary, but it helps a lot if you color the questions differently than the answers.

Remember to wait 24 hours after this message is edited before reapplying, and feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
