Full Name: Throdrik Greythorn

Throdrik was born in the icy cold northern island of Vyranniel to Asther and Almara Greythorn. When he was just two, his mother died stillbirthing his brother in a freezing winter that occurs permanently in Vyranniel. As a result of this, he was effectively raised by the Mournstone’s, looking up to Balerion as his rolemodel and example in life. However, Balerion bettered him in almost everything. Throdrik didn’t care though. He just was in awe of the young Mournstone throughout his childhood and as soon as he was old enough to hold a training sword, his father put him through training to become a Bannerman of the Mournstone’s. Throdrik was an abysmal swordsman at first, but forced practice from his father, Asther, meant he slowly became better until he ended up a fairly good swordsman, be his style very unorthodox. When he competed for a dragon’s egg, he got through to the final test but was beaten out by a more experienced contender. After that Throdrik vowed he would become good enough to win a dragon egg of his own. He spent his spare hours when he was not tending to the Mournstone family’s needs, he was training with other bannermen.

 

The colds of Vyranniel are bonefreezing. One who was used to the fair summers and moderate winters of Anthos would most likely die in the constant blizzard of the north, and as a result of that most children of Vyranniel die as an infant. Usually the toughest make it through. Because of his mother’s death, Throdrik has vowed never to father a child on the island purposefully, but that has not excluded a fling or two with the blacksmiths daughter. One day his father gathered the Greythorn’s together and announced they were returning to Anthos once again as their forefathers had once done. He said he would not force anyone to leave, but had said his son Throdrik must accompany him. Throdrik, although he had no choice, would’ve gone anyway and as the Vyranniens boarded the boat to Anthos, he looked back on the frozen wastes and wondered what was in store for him wherever he was going.

Ambitions for the Future: To protect his liegelord and perhaps extend the Greythorn line.

Personality: Very rough and cold hearted, Throdrik is a Vyrannien through to the cord. He respects his elders completely and will die for House Mournstone, as his father taught him to in his training as a boy. He has a deep love for the cold, and personally cannot stand too much heat, however he does like a nice fire at night. The cold of Vyranniel has toughened him and his heart, and most of the women on his island of Origin were snapped up by the Mournstone’s. Hates things he doesn’t understand, which is a major flaw in his personality. This has lead to him also despising magic, especially combat magic as he believes it is stupid but useful in some cases.A lot of restraint and a neutral outlook on life have made him very obedient. Looks up to Lord Mournstone like a brother having grown up with him, and wants to impress him as they travel to Anthos. Throdrik has always tried to impress his father, Asther Greythorn, but his dad was always tending to the needs of Lord Mournstone so his mother cared for him until she died birthing a stillborn child. Throdrik rarely talks of this however, and neither does Asther.

Looks much like his Father, Asther Greythorn but younger. He has brown hair which isn’t really tended to. It gives his face a rather rugged look of which is common in his family. He also has a rather unkempt beard which he trims every so often to make sure he looks formal enough in Anthos. He has armour which was once his father’s, passed down to avoid the expensive cost of a new set. He keeps hidden a large dragon claw scar that goes straight across his chest, from the games on his island. He has a rather rugged look. He is six foot on the dot. Not the most handsome fellow and wouldn’t attract the princesses of the realm, but some might find his hardy appearence attractive. Throdrik is also missing a finger on his right hand, his pinky to be precise and has no feeling in his other. Very muscled and constantly trains, striving to better himself constantly.
