House History:

The tale begins with the first sons of Horen. Viktor I, one of his many children, found his heart to belong to the colds of the north, and so, he travelled by boat, known as The Feared Skull, a guttural boat, to unknown nordic lands. A few months after, he arrived to the island of Vyranniel, or Mournain Vothranax. This island was half frozen, the southern shores of grass and taigas blessed by a dry, and only a chilly breeze. They set a camp there, and they hunted the different critters. Viktor soon founded the house Mournstone, along with his first-born, while his second son founded House Greythorn, which would be bound to serve the house of his father.

A few years later, Vikram I, grandson to Viktor, founded Vastaron, a permanent city  on the shore of Vyranniel. At the same year, a secret hidden in the north of the island was made aware to it’s inhabitants; Lizards. Not the lizards you see on the river at night, running away from the clumsy fingers of the children. Giant lizards, that could fly in the sky high, and destroy the mightiest cities on the land. Dragons, they were called, or Vorthinax in the tongue of the Mournstone, the Vyrannian.

These Dragons were fierce, angry, brutal, yet wise and knew when, and how to strike. The Mournstone began an order called “Krivallos-Vorthinos.”, Which meant “Fire Slayers”, a group of Mournstone and Greythorn allied to slay the Dragons. They succeeded. Soon the Dragons fell and were subdued to the mighty weaponry and fiercedom of the Mournstone and their banner house. They kept some of the dragons and their eggs, and they began a trial named thereafter “Fire Trial”, or “Vorthin’aval”, which was that a teenager was to kill, in order to prove his land was truly  that of a Northern Man, A young hatchling of a Dragon. So, did the Dragons became but another trivial value in the culture of the Mournstone and Greythorn. So their history carried on.

Afterwards, the history on the Mournstone bemists, until the age that something chaotic happened. The northern shell of ice began weeping, and flooded the shores and streets of Vastaron, this is also the time when the Undead became a true threat to Aegis, in which Tamara IV, along with his son Vikram II and Viktor IV, and an Elf he adopts in the boat, a refugee orphan from another northern continent, the elf Rerowin, travels to. Here, Tamara is squired directly by Pampo Perea, whom soon knights him. Soon after he’s entitled as Knight Commander of the Oren Knights, and he leads so until he leaves, putting the title on Grimbeard’s hands. By the time of the Phoenix Rebellion, Rerowin became Steward of Galahar, Renatus’ Capital. However, soon after, the champions went to the Nether, and with it, the Mournstone left again to Vyranniel, ashamed that they had lost their homes, once again... They would return, in almost two centuries.

When the people had turned to Anthos, the Mournstone returned, not for strive or greed... Vastaron was lost. There had been an even larger flooding, a flooding that didn’t flood the streets, but sunk the entire dryland of Vyranniel under the seabed. This shattered the Mournstone and Greythorn alike, as many were lost, and only a bunch were saved, in the four boats the Mournstone could save. Balerion, the son of Vilras II, son of Vikram II, arrived first, and accounted before Uthor Silverblade and Lucius Blackmont, obtaining two baronies in the respective duchies. Thus, the House Mournstone was reborn in the Anthos land.

However, soon the Oren empire as known since Asulon crumbled, with the Horen leaving, and Quentyn II leaving with them, Balerion was found with nothing but dread. And thus he took the title of Ser Dread, and was made noble of the Flay Kingdom of Galahar. He kept, however, the title of Ser, knight of the Lion Knight, and he made his own signature armor, the Black Tower, he called it, and it was as black as night.

The Black Tower - Balerion’s Armor

Balerion’s Armor is finely crafted by Balerion himself, as it is considered idiotic to let another smith craft your armor in the North. This armor is known for it’s scary build, and it’s black steel plate, which seems to be as strong as Carbaurum. Balerion, whilst wearing it, reaches the height of 7’1 feets, hence it’s name.

The Mourneblade - Hektor's Sword / Scimitar

Forged by a Kraltan smith; After years of training and fighting with his Halberd, it shattered. Hektor was not saddened by the weapon's destruction, he was rather glad. The weapon symbolized his father, which he hated, and when it shattered it was like killing him all over again. He set out with some money to have a new weapon forged. But this time a sword.

House Greythorn

The Greythorns were first founded by the younger son of Viktor I, Voldrik I. At the time they were sailing to the island they would call a home, the Mournstones lacked any sort of varied population, and Voldrik had carried over many refugee women and men with him, and as they followed and obeyed Voldrik only, he made a house, comprised of these men and Voldrik himself, and thus Greythorns and Mournstone began intertwining, and whilst not combining houses, they all share the same blood.

House Greythorn’s sigil and flag, is, as it’s name says, a grey rose with big spiky thorns, and usually, when carried into battle or skirmish, they drip their enemy’s blood onto the thorn symbol, to make it look as if the thorn has hurt someone. The Greythorn, as the Mournstone, took the Trial Of Fire, and they were also dragon slayers; actually Voldrik III was the leader of the Dragon Slayers, and is to date the one with most dragons killed, having killed three by his own hand with no aid. The Greythorns are completely respected by the Mournstone and they were not forced to become Mournstone’s banner house, but Voldrik insisted to form the house, and such it began.

To current date, Asther Greythorn leads the Greythorn. He’s a battle-hardened warrior, and being one of the oldest men of Vyranniel living, yet still wielding a sword, he has become “Master Asther” to all, Mournstone and Greythorn alike.

Greythorns are “Mostly” different from Mournstone in that they seem to outbest Mournstone in weaponcraft and warcraft, and they seem to have become much more violent than their brother house, thus becoming true northern warriors, whilst the Mournstone are fierce, they prefer more simple lives than the adventurous Greythorn.

Roleplay Name: Rodrik Mournstone

Age Intended: IRL 16

RP ??

Roleplay Experience: I have been roleplaying on two minecraft servers. One of those being Lord of the Craft. I started playing in July of 2011 back in Aegis, however I skipped most of Asulon due to real life issues. Other than that I have been roleplaying on World of Warcraft from time to time.

Small (From One(1) Paragraph to whatever you want. No walls of text.) Biography: The four ships with the remaning Mournstones and Greythorns left the desolated Vastaron while Rodrik sat on the rooftop of one of the last houses yet to be consumed by the violent waves that threatened to destroy it's foundations any second. He stood and observed in fearfull awe at the neverending abyss, the ships being the only gateway out of this hell. The ships that were also slowly sailing away.

After that event Rodrik's memories are mostly fuzzy. He remembers hanging onto a log while his body was slowly softened by the seawater, he remembers eating wet bread that was drifting with him. But most of all he remembers the sight of a neverending supply of water, which was poisend by the treacherous salt that always found a way into his many open wounds. He drifted like this for weeks, months maybe. His mind slowly went to places no sane man would dare tread.

By the time solid land was within view Rodrik's mind was wary of what he was seeing was true. Only wheh he felt himself being thrown againts the sharp rocks of Anthos did his broken mind register the pain. After such a long time in the sea Rodrik's body was close to falling apart. His once toned muscles were reduced to the density of whale blubber and his once leathery like skin broken apart by even soft scratching. The rocks left deep gashes within Rodrik's humid body and the saltwater flowing into places it has no right to be in. Cast aside by the sea he now desperatly wanted to return to, he was left an abomination of what he once was laying upon the rough seaside.

He awoke in a small hut. Carried there by the fisherman who wanted nothing in return. Upon healing from his terrible wounds he sought out to find the family he was separated from so long ago.

Character Relations To The Family: Rodrik is the younger brother of Balerion.

Roleplay Name:Hektor Mournstone

Age Intended:19

Roleplay Experience:Since August of 2012, I'v also been playing D&D since I was 7.

Small (From One(1) Paragraph to whatever you want. No walls of text.) Biography:Hektor's father was a man named Terot Mournstone, Brother Vilras II. He wasn't notable or brave, and even called a coward. Hektor hated his father, and for a good reason. Terot Mournstone beat little Hektor every time he was insulted.

This made Hektor tough, and fierce, when Hektor turned 16 he ended up beating his father senseless and leaving him to die. Hektor has little care for most, and only respects strength. Hektor, like his father used a halberd. The Halberd reminds him of his father, which makes him angry, and want to get stronger. ((This is all subject to change if it doesn't fit with current lore or anything else))

Roleplay Name: Alice Mournstone
Age Intended: 13
Roleplay Experience: I've played on the server for nearly a year now, and had been roleplaying many years before that.
Small (From One(1) Paragraph to whatever you want. No walls of text.) Biography:
Alice is a calm young teenaged girl who enjoys the simpler things of life. She only vaguely recalls what her mother looked like, as her mother was slain when Alice was seven. Though she lost her mother, Alice has remained quite upbeat and can usually be seen to have a smile on her face. As well, Alice is usually soft spoken, not one to speak out until asked to. The only exception to this would be when she sees a friend being teased or is among people her own age.

Now that Alice is thirteen, she is slowly becoming less and less shy, though she remains a happy and calm girl. She dislikes not being resourceful, and always strives to improve herself in some way or another.

((Wouldn't the House be relatively inbred at this point from the years of isolation in Aegis?))

Please, read our lore, namely, Greythorn lore. And... We're all inbred in our ways, as we all come from one man and one woman, Horen, and we're only 5-10 generations away from him.
