Role-playing: This is where you take on a different personality as a character in game.

Meta-gaming: This is using out of character information whilst you are in character. For example, if you know that a battle is taking place because you heard people talking about it on something such as Teamspeak or Skype and you then go to the battle without knowing about it in character. This would be defined as meta-gaming.

Power-emoting: This is doing something such as telling your opponent you have a so-called ‘’God’’ sword which kills them in one hit, giving them no chance to defend against it.

Full Name: Gavin Belmour

Gavin Belmour was born in the town of Ildon, his family serving the House Silverblade. They were poor, and worked as plain farmers and janitors in his castle. Gavin grew up with his mum, dad and his little sister, Georgina . Him and his father practiced as archers under the knight of Flay, Brutus. Brutus was a few years older than Gavin. Him and Gavin became mates not long after they moved to Elysium, Kalos and all the way to Anthos.

His family settled in Furnestock. Him and Brutus lost contact until Gavin became a squire. Gavin became a squire under one of the knights, Ser Bronn Silverblade. Him and Brutus practiced often around the woods when House Flay and House Silverblade combined. Gavin was a quiet boy, so he never got knighted. He became quite rebellious and left his job as a squire. He told Brutus to come with him, but he decided to stay with his family. Gavin, enraged, left and tried to make a shop in Salvus. He continued to farm at his family farm and sell his goods at the market. He was quite confused for a long time... he didn’t feel attracted to women. He never told anyone about his odd attraction to men, until he found Ben Kearney. Him and Ben shared an intimate moment until he was captured as a slave at Trog. Since then Gavin’s been awkwardly quiet.

 

Ambitions for the Future: Gavin wants to continue his business at Salvus, but now that it’s led by the Dwarves, he wants to improve his relation with the Dwarven nobility.

Personality: Gavin is very quiet and awkward. He’s a peasant, and grew up being poor. He is thankful for every mina he gets. He’s very religious, follows the Creator, and gets nervous quite easily.

Skills: Gavin is a good farmer and knows how to cook. He enjoys reading and has been taught how to read and write by his mother. He is alright with a shortsword and pretty good with a bow.

Answer:

 

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s (( King’s* ))palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

 

Answer: Gavin unsheathes his bow, taking out an arrow while he looks back at the guards “Knights, there’s a suspicious man coming up the stairs!” The hooded man looks down, staring at Gavin, throwing a knife at Gavin’s knee. Garin attempts to dodge it, but gets a slight cut at his right knee, kneeling down, growling in pain as he aims the bow. The man, now running up the stairs, is being chased by guards. Gavin lets the arrow go, aiming at his back. Gavin barely gets the shot as he hits his bottom back. The man falls forward, and the guards drag him downstairs. As they pass Gavin, they shout “Kaila! Get this man patched up! He got this idiot caught for us” A woman appears walking downstairs with a medical kit. Gavin looks away as she cleans his cut and bandages it. Kaila packs up and leaves, throwing a little wink his way. Gavin looks away in disgust “Ew”

 

 

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

 

Answer: Gavin only cares for his own well-being, so he stands behind the cottage, listening to the conversation. “Listen, lads, I’m not wealthy... at all.. ye- n’- n’ I have no land except this cottage... I live a-alone..” The guards smirk, chuckling “Reaaaalyyy” It sounds as if one of them pulls out a scroll “Former Bishop of Savoie, Jacob Fontes, has 3 bastard children with a noble elf Varin’la. Also known to have large land in the south west near the orc lands” Gavin hears the man scream, sighing. He could’ve saved the man. But he didn’t. He knew he didn’t stand a chance.

 

 

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

 

Answer:  Gavin is looking for a new quiver. He sees three options, one very long, but would hold about 10 arrows. The other two are pretty similar, both short and fat, would fit about 20 arrows. The man offers about 85 mina for the fat short ones, and 60 for the long one. “So...” Gavin picks one of the shorts ones “This red one. How about we lower the price and I’ll give you this piece of freshly baked bread” he takes out a hot piece of fresh bread. The merchant shakes his head “How about TWO pieces of fresh bread?” Gavin nods, passes over two pieces of bread and 70 mina as the merchant throws him the quiver “Good huntin’”
