Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the
event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

____

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards
the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?

Answer: I notice this shadowy figure and decide that no chances must be taken
when it comes to the safety of the emperor. I shout out to the guards, calling
them by name as know the guards of Abresi well. I pursue the shady figure and
tackle him to the ground. I then pin his arms behind his back and hold him down
until the guards arrive to take them away for questioning.

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

Answer: I notice that this man’s life is in immediate danger and waste no time
in assisting him. I run towards them brandishing my longsword overhead letting
out a ferocious battle cry. If they are surprised I get the tactical advantage
over them for the first few seconds of combat, eliminating the advantages they
get from numbers. I dispatch the first as quickly as possible whilst with my
off-hand I shove the old man out of harms way. I then tend to the second bandit
hoping that he is still surprised and I am able to fight back effectively.

If they are not surprised and have already noticed me I shout to the old man to
run. I then step in and hold off the bandits for as long as possible before
fleeing the scene myself.

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind
a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

Answer: I approach the man with a friendly smile and a cheerful greeting. He
has a variety of long and short composite bows available. I say to the man
“Hello, my name is Drew and I am an avid archer and I wish to purchase one of
your many fine combat bows” He replies with “We have a composite short bow for
one hundred and fifty minas and a composite longbow for two hundred and seventy
five minas” I respond by saying “That seems a little steep for an ex-soldier
who fought in the war, what wood are the bows made of?” He replies by informing
me that they are made from the finest spruce wood crafted by Abresi’s best bowyer.
He then turns back to me with a look of disgust. I respond by telling him I
only have 250 minas with me and make an offer for the long bow. If he accepts
my offer I gladly pay the man, take my goods and walk away. If he declines my
offer I realise he won’t go any lower and leave to find another stall with more
affordable goods.

Sadly I have had to deny your application, here are some suggestions on things you could improve on:

  • Your definitions are incorrect and/or need to be expanded on with added examples.
  • Your biography is too short. Go into detail about your characters past and how he acts and was raised, things like that. So that your character is more fleshed out.
  • You also didn't have any lore in your biography again. Thus I think you need to go and read it once again.
  • All three of your ORQs are too short and need to be expanded on greatly with dialogue.

Please wait at least a full twenty four hours as of this post's edit (seen below) before posting your next attempt. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. Good luck with your next application.
