Definitions

 

In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:

 

Role-playing: Stepping into the shoes of a character you create, and living the life of said character.

 

Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is the use of knowledge gained from outwith of RP, notably OOC and /tell's.

 

Power-emoting: The use of emoting to give you the upper-hand in RP, and give them only one choice.

Complete the following biography on your character:

 

Full Name: Seth Omally Stubbing or use his nick name [ Stubbs ]

 

Current Age:18

 

Sub-race (if any): Human

 

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Seth Omally Stubbing, or Stubbs for short, was born to a broken family. His mother was brutally slaved by Orcs, and was sold to a wealthy nobleman in Anthos. Seth never knew this though. All he knew was that his mother had been abducted, taken from the burning house his family lived in before that fateful night. His father fought the bandits, but was stabbed several times by the large, green villians who dragged his mother from the burning house by her hair. The green villians never found the boy, hidden under the floor boards, with his fathers bow and arrows. He choked back his tears as he watched his family die infront of him. After they were gone, he ran into the woods, looking back only once to see the roof collapse onto the floor.

 

His worked his way through the thick undergrowth before coming across a large capital city. Abresi. He made his way in, under the tarp of an apple cart. In the town, he lived in the slums, using his bow every day to feed himself. He had very little to worry about, becoming stronger each day as he fought against the other orphans on the streets for supremacy, but they didn't have his bow, or his arrows. Slowly but surely, he grew up and found his way into travelling caravans of Archers, until finally hearing the summons to the Army of Oren. He had found his calling in life. He was going to kill every last Northern demon he could, and if any Orcs got in his way and made him do what they wanted, they would also taste his arrows ferium heads.

 

Ambitions for the Future: To save his mother, if she still survives.

 

Personality: He's a very strong character, his personality is one of seriousness and sorrow. He will always help those in need, and fight for his rights. 

 

Skills: Very good bow skills, having used it since his childhood. His sword skills being basic, but also useful, more trained with a dagger.

 

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):

Seth Omally is a 5ft, Northern male. He masks his face and hides in the shadows most of the time, away from the other men and woman of Anthos. He is very distrustful, and this is shown through his appearance. A black face mask adorns his face, and brown tatty clothes cover his ragged boddy. Brown hair lies lazily on his head, with bright blue eyes. 

 

Any other details you wish to share about your character: A nightstalker most of the time, Seth Omally will only join a group if needed or required.

1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? 

 

Answer: Stubbs follows this man, cautious as he watches him making his way towards the Emperor's palace. He pulls his bow from his back, then picks an arrow out of his tunic, nocking the arrow in the bow...but as he does so...the man enters the palace. He can do nothing more. He goes to inform a guard of the man, and his shady intentions, Seth will not get himself involved unless neccessary. 

 

 

2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?

 

Answer: Seth would rise from the bushes, a valiant hero in the night. His bow, locked and loaded on the mens backs, looses an arrow with a ferium head, hoping to pierce through the bandits heavy armour. At this, Seth would go back into the bush, and await the other man to come inspect, his friend being incapacitated by the large arrow protuding from his back. As the bandit would walk towards the bushes, overlooking Seth, he would stab upwards with a blade from his boot, in the weak spot of the mans armour with enough force to either stab the mans throat or knock him back. At this, Seth would hope the old man would come and slice the man from behind, thus ending the petty scuffle with the villians being throughly broken. Stubbs would inform the man to send word to the Lord High Sherrif of Oren, to deal with these two miscreants.

 

 

3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).

 

Answer: Seth lives off the land, having spent years in the woods as a boy, becoming tough

Your power-emoting definition is incorrect, and while I believe you understand what meta-gaming is, your definition is missing a little piece that I would like to see added to it. If you are unsure how to fix your definitions, I would advise you read this page. It will tell you all you need to know about meta-gaming and power-emoting.

 

While your biography was not bad, there are a few things I'd like to point out. For one, having parents killed by orcs (or in this case, having one abducted) is a bit cliche. I would advise you alter that, although you won't be denied for this alone. One thing that confused me, however, is why your character is suddenly so passionate about killing the "Northern demons." Did something trigger his hatred for them? Also, if this is his calling, it should probably be a part of his "Ambitions for the Future."

 

You must have an image of your skin in your application so we know that it is suitable for roleplay on this server.

 

Your ORQ's could use a bit of work. For one, your first and third ORQ's are too short, and could use some expansion. Your second ORQ contains a bit of power-gaming, killing his enemies with essentially no resistance is akin to killing them without giving them a chance to respond in roleplay in this situation. Also, you are technically performing villainous actions in the second ORQ by attacking them without proper provocation. This would require a villain application, which you do not have.

 

As a whole, I would advise you try not to think of your character as a hero, and more as just another character. This will help you a lot in the long run, I can almost certainly promise you.
