[New Players] Creating / Starting New Characters

I'm remaking this thread so I can update it, change some things, and make it easier to update when need be. Most of this post is written by Cyndikate, so thanks to her! Here is a link to the old thread as it will be in the archives.

Attention to all newer players:

If you have been recently accepted and implemented on Lord of the Craft, and you would like to switch, create, or start a new character, keep in mind that you do not need an additional application to do so, with the exception of Kharajyr, which is one of the restricted races that do require applications. All you need to do is get a skin and set name and you're set to go. That's all you need to do.

Players are free to play multiple characters on a single account, or you can use two different accounts for different characters. It is up to you really. Click this link to learn more about character cards!

In addition to this, new players are highly advised to not play multiple characters simultaneously as it requires a lot of commitment, and care to avoid metagaming, and managing separate knowledge from different characters. Instead, they should stick to one character at a time until they are ready to switch characters, or they are experienced enough to avoid accidentally metagaming with either of their characters.

If you do plan to play multiple characters, make sure you separate your character's knowledge from each other. Make sure they do NOT interact or communicate with one another, or perform any RP action that would benefit or be a detriment to one another(such as making your character get revenge for your other character.). This is metagaming and can get you banned. If you cannot treat multiple characters as separate entities, and are incapable of separating what they know IC, then don't play multiple characters.
