So, we all have the new launcher and I noticed not everyone has the knowlege to downgrade and switch back and forth between versions. So I made a short guide that I hope helped out a bit.

Your screen should look like this when logging in, you're going to want to go down and click on New Profile which should be in the bottom left corner. The screen should look something like...

this. You should come up to this screen and you'll probably have your version (towards the bottom) set to "Use latest Version". Click on this and you will be presented with the option of this and many other versions of previous times. Click on release 1.6_2 and save the profile. You can name it whatever you choose.

Your thing should mirror mine almost. It's just the vanilla profile.

This is what your minecraft should look like and your profile should be named what you named it previously. Press play and you should be done.

Just to show it works. Hope you can understand the tutorial as I'm doing it while doing homework on my iPad Mini. If you have questions drop a comment and me or someone else will try to answer to the best of our ability. YOU NEED THE NEW LAUNCHER FOR THIS (you should probably have it I hope)

Excellent, thank you! I'm not the greatest at figuring out that sort of thing, your guide certainly helped.
