  2. THE HAUCHMETVAS OF PRINZENAS EMMA ISSUED BY ON THIS 18TH DAY OF JOMA AG UMUND OF 503 E.S. ✧──────────────⊱🜂⊰──────────────✧ OF THE MANY JOYS AND GIFTS that one can experience in a lifetime, none can truly be as delicate and wonderful as the passage of one’s youth. It brings the Crown no greater joy than to invite its denizens to witness the youngest of the Royal Household undertake this journey. Maturing to grasp the concept of her destiny and a greater understanding of our people and the gravity of her position, the title of Princess Royal shall be bestowed upon PRINCESS EMMA ANASTASYA. The Crown has, with help of the general populace, friends, citizens, and allies alike, helped mold our princess into the woman she has so gracefully become. She, in her expressed teachings and tutoring, has studied the stars and constellations to select for this event the perfect date: specifically the night with which the Moon matches her zodiac, and it and the surrounding stars find themselves in a perfect placement for this fateful occasion. Thus, in honor of her decision, the ball’s theme has been named “Glimmering Cosmos”, and guests are urged to dress accordingly, clad in gilded, star-studded outfits. A grand feast in addition to entertainment will be offered to the guests, alongside arcane performances and song. ✧──────────────⊱🜂⊰──────────────✧ Her Royal Majesty, AMAYA OF VENZIA, Queen-Consort of Hanseti and Ruska, Princess-Consort of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duchess-Consort of Carnatia and Vanaheim, Margravine-Consort of Korstadt, Rothswald, and Vasiland, Countess-Consort of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Torun, Toruv, Valdev, and Werdenburg, Viscountess-Consort of Varna, Baroness-Consort of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, Thurant, Venzia and Astfield, Lady of the Westfolk, et cetera Her Royal Highness, EMMA ANASTASYA, Princess of Haenseti-Ruska, Duchess of Karlsburg
  3. I do not own ANY of the artwork. The original artists are credited. [John Martin c. 1841] MY UNFOUNDED ACCUSATIONS have required me to refrain from my pen and confine myself to the boundaries of Merryweather. But I can not be imprisoned, and I cannot be silenced. I suppose that many would have preferred just that—just another silenced woman, as it were. I inquire the citizens of Aaun, who supposedly yearn to be “free of political burden and secure peace,” how safe do you truly feel? All those that the crown deemed as outlaws have eluded their clutches thrice. Firstly, Ottomar von Augusten, a vampyric creature and recognized terrorist. Then, it was the Queen Mother and myself. When those entrusted with keeping those they arrest are unable to even prevent their escape, can you still harbor faith in their capability, in the face of an impending threat of war? Your crown alone cannot assure your safety, especially when the most imminent threat festers within the heart of your kingdom, orchestrating its demise. I refrained from uttering their name outright, but I shall do so now. If they can act so boldly, I, too, will proceed without fear. The Margraviate of Stassion has continuously fostered intentions to bring your kingdom to ruin. If ever was there an act so impudent, a testament to everything I last said, it was their boldness at court just days past. By constructing a narrative that elevates their fallen comrade to a martyr, they create a conflict that benefits them, regardless of the outcome. Firstly, in the event that the Kingdom of Aaun and its Heartlander allies heed the plea contained in their hastily composed missive, rife with grammatical lapses, Aaun shall place itself in a conflict it cannot prevail in without aid. Those who rally by them will rally under the banner of “self-defense”. Aaun lacks military might; what it possesses are decentralized militias raised by their vassals. In the case of Stassion, these militias’ loyalty often lean toward the lords of their vassal territories, whom they regard as their true sovereigns, more so than the sovereign of their own nation. Should the Kingdom of Aaun lose this conflict, the lords of Stassion shall not be far behind, close at hand to take up the mantle and reclaim the kingdom they lost so recklessly half a century ago—a goal they have pursued since that bygone fall. Secondly, if Aaun remains dormant and disregards the pleas of these Stassion men, they will see it as a grievous injustice. They will allege their King and his council have failed to protect the well-being of their kingdom’s denizens. This perceived injustice will incite a rebellion, for if the people cannot find protection in the Crown, they shall be compelled to seek their own means of defense. The events of the Harvest Revolution shall echo themselves once more, and Aaun, by failing to learn the lessons of the past, shall have crafted their own heaven and hell on this very realm—the age of the Usurper upon us once again. Thankfully, despite both these outcomes, if there is one thing Stassions are remembered for, it is not winning wars. When the realm hears the drums of war, will the people of Aaun gather arms for a man who contributed naught to their kingdom, nor to them, but only to the will of the house that ruled him in life? Will they stand united for a lord who thinks only of the legacy of his fallen lineage over their welfare? Will they be sure that their own King even wears his crown—or have the Stassions taken that as well? For the same King they serve, who is too young to even hold a voice of his own or represent the wishes of his people, sentenced his own mother and blood to imprisonment. And if blood is not safe—something so dear and sacred as House Dresnay proclaims—what, then, shall be done to the people of Aaun? Your days dwindle, men of Stassion. The world has borne witness. The world knows your true nature. You hurl only jeers in my presence because you know what will become of you should you dare strike first. You know what will come for you. Fear courses through you, and I sense it. I heard how a man of Stassion challenged the King's courage before his entire court. I heard how the men of Stassion fled when he answered. If you wish to speak of balls, here we stand—solve the issue yourselves like the men you claim to be, instead of fleeing behind the safety of your masters. You are right; what honor is there in butchering innocents? Only Iblees benefits from the senseless deaths of Canonist men. Is the loss of innocent life not the reason you call for action? Does the death of Louis Dresnay actually mean anything to your people? If you are so certain the King of Haense has no courage, here is your chance to show the world that you do. To the Margrave of Stassion, the Prince of Nothing, if you have been receiving my gifts, I pray you use them to put an end to your own prolonged life, as well as your lineage who has drained the energy of the realm for far too long. I WATCH, AND I WAIT. HER HIGHNESS, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater

  5. A SOLUTION TO THE BEAVER DAM [The view of the river Lahy, sketched by Princess Emma] WRITTEN BY THE ON THIS 10TH DAY OF JULA AG PIOV OF 501 E.S. ✧──────────────⊱🜂⊰──────────────✧ A PROBLEM LEFT UNCHECKED only begets further problems, a truth recognized by all. While the harsh winter still persists, raging in our capital, the LAHY STRAT has remained clogged for far too long, keeping the water flow backed up. While some might see this issue as trivial, its unseen effects promise to produce far greater issues for our capital if left unaddressed. Due to the beavers that have made the river their home, half of the entire river has dried completely, from Mondstadt to Malkovya, leaving all native river life in that area dead and dried up in its wake. Mondstadt’s water wheel has stopped indefinitely, impending its ability to mill grain for the Crownlands—whose farming is already hindered by the nikirala. Furthermore, it is preventing water from flowing into Malkovya’s territory and into Hyspia’s waterfall. As long as that dam remains, and the lakewater begins to dry, Hyspia too shall find their wildlife affected. The nature around us cannot be ignored; doing so will only harm us. Valdev is the heart and the rivers that surround it are its arteries. And without the arteries, the heart cannot live. I implore the emboldened and the passionate to join me in ridding the city of this environmental threat. Together, we can rehabilitate the beavers while restoring the waterflow to our kingdom, thereby creating a beneficial outcome for all involved. Should you find yourself interested, reach out to yours truly. ✧──────────────⊱🜂⊰──────────────✧ Her Royal Highness, EMMA ANASTASYA, Princess of Hanseti-Ruska, Duchess of Karlsburg Her Royal Majesty, AMAYA OF VENZIA, Queen-Consort of Hanseti and Ruska, Princess-Consort of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duchess-Consort of Carnatia and Vanaheim, Margravine-Consort of Korstadt, Rothswald, and Vasiland, Countess-Consort of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Torun, Toruv, Valdev, and Werdenburg, Viscountess-Consort of Varna, Baroness-Consort of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, Thurant, Venzia and Astfield, Lady of the Westfolk, et cetera
  6. I do not own ANY of the artwork. The original artists are credited. [Artemisia Gentileschi c. 1623-1625] I WRITE FORMALLY TO ANNOUNCE my resignation from Lady Chamberlain of the Clementine Court. With a heavy heart burdened by the weight of unfinished affairs, I depart, yet bear no remorse in my wake. I have, in service of this nation, undertaken deeds surpassing my many predecessors over half a century, thereby creating a foundational structure that shall foster both order and practicality. I wish naught but earnest success unto all the enlightened members among the court, who aspire to guide our noble assembly towards yet another golden era of prosperity. Yet—if I permit for this affliction to fester unchecked, we shall find ourselves without a kingdom to prosper. I need not utter names, for the ones whom my words are directed are well aware of who they are; the shadow of recognition falls upon you all. Your recent accusations, though delivered with fervor, are void of substance and misconstrued. I make no attempt to malign your character, for your actions serve as the canvas with which your character is painted, visible to all who observe. Your resurgence, nearly half a century following the disappearance of your lineage, can only be attributed to your keen eye for opportunity. Your pathetic ambition only revolves around what your forefather so flagrantly lost, and your methods are akin to that of a parasite. A parasite that clings to the very fabric of this kingdom until it is absorbed into your dominion. I have watched and known of your true intentions since your reappearance in Petra, where you proclaim yourselves as royalty, reclaiming a kingdom that was stripped from your grasp and dissolved from your incompetency to rule. And now, your hubris outshines the jewels on your false crown—perched upon the foundations of a kingdom already constructed for your benefit. It is through the downfall of your family’s realm that this one persists, and thus, the legacy endures. No empire was built in a day, but your progeny taught the world that it could be lost in one. For a house whose elevation transpired through the mere numbers of guards you bring, I beseech you, where were these steadfast sentinels in the face of tragedy? Where were they when the King, whom you swore to shield, found himself ensnared within the watery confines of the palace? Where were they when the very heart of the realm was sieged, leaving both commoners and nobles destitute of their homes? And where, indeed, was this house? While every other peer extended their helping hand, your kinsfolk reveled. Unperturbed within your walls. Deaf to the kingdom’s anguished cries — Preoccupied with hunts and frivolity. Yet now, you claim you speak in His Majesty’s best interest, with smiling faces that conceal the evil that lurks within. This house stands as a testament to its own interest, driven by self-serving motives. What you label as ‘threats’ against your consort were in truth the opportunity to partake in the noble duty of contribution; a task that graces those estates aspiring to nurture not only themselves but the kingdom they have pledged themselves to. Do you not demand that your contribution serve your own interests only? This only became glaringly apparent on the day you arrived at the gates of Merryweather with your gaggle of troops, brandishing threats. Threats that echoed your intent to force your way into my home should you not be granted entry. I suppose you believe the reins of this realm rest firmly in your hands, as all hasten to appease you. Continuing this facade of feigned concern for our kingdom proves futile. The world’s watchful gaze now looks down upon you through the very heart of your deception. I implore the people of this realm, the council, and the king to open their eyes to the undeniable truth. We witness your persistence and insistence on this image of authority, one that calls back to your long-lost kingdom, as though we still dwell within your fallen realm. Perhaps it is time to cast aside your lies and reveal your true nature to the world, for I find it unbearable to live in a nation where your lineage persists in drawing breath. I must thank you for your vital role as a pitiful conclusion in the annals of history, a final remark at the end of another man's legacy. Two distinct paths are laid out before you, as I shall convey to you personally. UNTIL THEN, [St. Jerome and St. Catherine of Alexandria, anonymous ; ca. 1480-90] I PRAY YOUR ASCENSION TO THE SEVEN SKIES GOES UNDELAYED, HER HIGHNESS, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater
  7. TO ALL OUR KINSMEN IN ARMS Issued by THE CROWN On the 10th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1943 A depiction of the flood, in traditional Whitespearian style. “And I am the Lord GOD without peer, and My works are the holy works, and My labor is the virtuous labor, and all the strength of the Virtue shall serve the righteous laborer.” (Virtue 4:9) THE DENIZENS OF WHITESPIRE must undoubtedly find themselves awash in fear and despair, their hearts torn asunder by the wailing of the creatures as waves descended on their homes and the panic that ensued in its wake. We were faced with a grievous tragedy, one that has etched its horror onto me and the rest of Whitespire’s citizens. I will never forget the noxious stench that clung to the twin pyres of the deceased as we burned them. I will never forget the innocent babes I held, forsaken within barrels and baskets, forsaken by desperate parents in an attempt for their salvation. Yet, amidst this tragedy and the countless casualties, a blessing did emerge. We bore witness, firsthand, the potential within the hearts of the people in Aaun when joined together as a united force. Upon forging a sacred bond with our fellow comrades, united in pursuit of a noble cause, our spirits have found solace. This encounter has taught us that true reverence does not lie in merely locking eyes with one another, but in fixing our gaze upon a shared horizon. Fellowship is born only when we stand as one, tethered to the same rope, clambering to a common peak. In our hour of need, we draped each other in protection, nourished our souls, and kindled the warmth of camaraderie beneath Merryweather’s embrace. Above all, we stood with one another, as a brother would for his kin. Our evacuation was quick, and those within our reach, we rescued with unwavering diligence. I beseech the people of Aaun to take heed of the impact wrought by their humble deeds, and to envision such endeavors tenfold, for the betterment of our kingdom. I invite you all to rid the streets of this incessant flooding together, hand in hand in unity and resolve. We gather inside the city, carve out a passageway in the walls and streets for the water to escape in the moats around the city, then begin rebuilding the damage caused by the flood. ✿ SIGNED, HER EXCELLENCY, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater, Lady Chamberlain of Clementine Court
  8. ON THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE ESTATES Issued by THE LADY CHAMBERLAIN On the 9th of Harren’s Folly, 1941 THE ACT OF ENNOBLEMENT, whatever the era or nation, is always an act of great privilege, holding the promise of loyalty and service to the Crown. However, through careful observation, I have seen great decadence enabled amongst our lords—some who, in times when the nation ought to be thriving with progress, have instead choked under the weight of their own indolence. And this cannot stand, for due to the laws of the past, contribution to the Crown is moreso encouraged than it is enforced. This is not the past. We live in different times under a different continent, where the standards ought to be raised higher so that we might see every one of our houses thrive. And what, I ask, is the worth of a house that fails to uphold their vows to the Crown in exchange for a life of decadence and indulgence? Thus, I pen this proposal to add the following amendments to our Great Charter, so that these needs might be met. I bring the following under the consideration of the Crown, and for the Royal Diet to deliberate: I. According to Section III of the Great Charter, a noble estate is “[...] afforded the sole authority to raise militia in the service of their own Estate”. However, due to the vagueness of this statute, the walls of our vassals remain heavily defended while the city of Whitespire itself lacks all military presence; especially at times when that city, the seat of the Crown, is left vulnerable to attack. Therefore, to centralize forces under the service of the Crown itself, let the militias of the Estates be in service to the Crown first and foremost, thereby connecting them to the Legion of Aaun. II. All of the nobility, the Estates and the Peerage alike, ought to be held to specific standards, the likes of which shall determine their standing and rank: Service to the military; including the involvement of noble houses in the Legion and the Knightly Orders, and strong presence when the kingdom is in need of a rally. Service to the government; whether that be serving on the privy or city council, or attendance at the Royal Diet. Service to the courts; including involvement in any of the Offices of the Clementine Court, or a council position within it. Service to the faith; including, but not limited to, service within the church or the Abbey of St. Jude. Finally, service to nation; which regards general involvement in events, court proceedings, and church masses. Each of these services should be expected to be fulfilled by at least one house member. Failure to meet these standards and by proxy, lack of contribution, would result in demotion or revocation of titleage and land under the jurisdiction of the Crown, foremost, or Royal Diet, as stated in Section II, Statute II. III. To ensure that these expectations are met, the authority of enforcing these standards should go to the Grand Peer, conducting occasional audits regarding each house’s performance. SIGNED, HER HIGHNESS, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess-Consort of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater, Lady Chamberlain of Aaun
  9. THE TRIALS OF THE LANGKETTE Penned by The Princely Couple of Merryweather On the 11th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1940 The final brick is placed on the spires of Ulrichsburg, just the first snow melts atop the Langkette peaks. The village that lies beneath its base bustles with activity, and with all the interiors of our hallowed halls furnished, we can officially welcome guests to the doorsteps of Merryweather with joy and celebration. We find no better occasion than now to celebrate the namedays of the three princely daughters—Adelheid Klara, Alexandra Mathilde, and Ana Maria. From our daughters, we expect nothing but perfection. Thus, this celebration shall display their prowess and strength, ensuring they might excel in the future that lies ahead of them. The young ladies of Merryweather must prove themselves worthy of the revelries and refreshments that await them in the feast hall, just as they shall prove themselves before entering our good society. An array of competitions shall await them, spread about the Principality, games reminiscent of their Waldenic and Ruskan heritage. First, a challenge of archery, followed then by the ancient Highlandic sport of log tossing. To then complete their trials, each girl shall take their turn walking on a high tightrope over the mountain pass. SIGNED, HIS HIGHNESS, Heinrich II von Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Baron of Corwinsburg, Lord of Blackwater, Lord Vandalore HER HIGHNESS, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess-Consort of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater, Lady Chamberlain of Aaun
  10. THE NAMEDAY OF PRINCESS EMMA ANASTASYA ISSUED BY THE ON THIS 7TH DAY OF VZMEY AG HYFF OF 492 E.S. With hearts uplifted and ever-joyous spirits, the Crown extends to all denizens of the realm a cordial invitation to partake in a grand celebration honoring the seventh name day of Her Royal Highness, Princess Emma Anastasya of Hanseti-Ruska. All shall gather in the gardens of the Esrova Prikaz on the 7th eve of Grona and Droba to honor her with festivity and cheer. As per the wishes of the Princess, a miniature rendition of the Highlandic Games shall unfold: firstly, the spectacle of log throwing – a true test of strength that pays homage to the storied warriors of our realm, followed by a bout of archery. Ice skating, too, shall grace the festivities, wherein the Princess and her mother, the Queen, will guide the attendees to a rink constructed just for the occasion. And lo, as a glimpse of twilight blankets the heavens above, the Princess, who has received tutelage from the Court Astronomer throughout her youth, will partake in an enchanting session of stargazing to ponder the constellations that have enthralled her thus far. Finally, as the moon crests the Northern sky, Her Royal Highness shall extinguish the candles adorning her cake beneath a tapestry of glittering stars. Her Royal Majesty, AMAYA OF VENZIA, Queen-Consort of Hanseti and Ruska, Princess-Consort of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Solvesborg, Slesvik and Ulgaard, Duchess-Consort of Carnatia, Karosgrad, and Vanaheim, Margravine-Consort of Korstadt, Rothswald, and Vasiland, Countess-Consort of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Torun, Toruv, Valdev, and Werdenburg, Viscountess-Consort of Varna, Baroness-Consort of Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, Rytsburg, and Astfield, Lady of the Westfolk, et cetera. Her Royal Highness, EMMA ANASTASYA Princess of Hanseti-Ruska, Duchess of Karlsburg
  11. A PLEA TO THE NAPPERS Penned by Princess Emma Anastasya On the 17th of Joma and Umund, 491 ES This is to the Xionists, who I heard whose name was called Xionists. Everybody knows that you took that man away. So, I am going to get to the point and just ask that you kindly bring him back. I know; you are probably going to say no to me. But you are already reading so you might as well listen to what I am saying because it might make you change your mind. Now, you say that no one likes you, is what I am getting. And that might be true only because people do not like the bad things that you do. Why you do these bad things is confusing to me so if you truly took the time to think about it, it would also be confusing to you as well. For starters, why would other people liking Godan put a sour taste in your mouth? If you feel a sour taste in your mouth, perhaps you should eat different foods. Sweets like pastries and cakes are not sour, but if you wish for something healthy to eat, then maybe you may have some strawberries or even meat (from animals, of course). All this would be better options to other than taking Lord Weiss’s brother away. Some of you must have brothers too. Maybe you have sisters instead. How would you feel if somebody took them away from you? You would feel sad, would you not? And if someone was doing this to you yourself you would also feel very bad - and that is how Father Weiss is feeling. Godan teaches kindness, and doing to everyone else how you want to be treated. Why would you hate something like that and put your anger on other people who do not have things to do with you? So I ask you to please reconsider and do not take away Father Weiss’s arms and legs. This will hurt him, and he will not be able to walk or use his hands. If he cannot do that, how will he eat? How will he get back home? If you have already taken his arms and legs away, please put it back where you found it. If you really still want an arm and leg, just do not take his because I will make some for you instead. When you follow all that I say, I will send you a basket of mina and goodies. This will only be sent to you if you vow to be good. If not, my grand-uncle has a weapon of thunder and he will strike you with it and show you no mercy. SIGNED, HER ROYAL HIGHNESS, Emma Anastasya Barbanov-Bihar, Princess of Hanseti-Ruska, Duchess of Karlsburg
  12. THE FUNERAL OF JAMES I Penned by The Lady Chamberlain In the year of our Lord, 1938 TO THE SUBJECTS OF THE AAUNIC CROWN, Though the kingdom celebrates the much-anticipated reign of our new king, our Royal family has, no doubt, been riddled with nothing but immense grief. As if the Lord Alba’s passing was not enough of a blow, the passing of His Majesty was a tragedy come too soon. Thus, the Royal Household sees fit to send our king, JAMES I, off into his next life with a funeral befitting of a man as great as him—he who served this nation of ours with nothing short of dignity, honor, and diligence. All subjects of the kingdom are invited to congregate in the square of Whitespire, where his life and illustrious legacy shall be commended before all to behold. With this event, the year-long period of mourning shall draw to its conclusion, as we see the late Monarch into his transition to the next realm. HER ROYAL MAJESTY, Adela of High-Peak, Queen-Mother, Viscountess of Valence HER EXCELLENCY, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess-Consort of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater, Lady Chamberlain of Clementine Court
  13. THE REFORMATION OF Penned by The Lady Chamberlain C. 1936 Let there be no doubt that the Clementine Court does owe a great debt to the women who took the mantle of forming its structure. If not for the efforts of the former LADY ALBA, LADY MELINA-ISABEAU OF HIGH PEAK, and MISS JULIETTA HAVERLOCK, the court most surely would not have survived this nation’s transitionary period onto this new continent. That said, we now arrive at a new day. Following the reestablishment, we on the Alban Council have had ample time to watch the functionality of the court under this formation. The structure lacks just that—structure. The majority of our courtiers have taken advantage of its lenient form, offering little to no contribution at a time when the court needs it the most. Therefore, the Lady Chamberlain hereby offers an immediate restructuring of all responsibilities and duties to ensure that our courtiers do not grow content in their leisure and indolence. In no way is this meant to replace the foundation made by my predecessors; it is merely an improvement. THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE CLEMENTINE COURT I. The Clementine Court shall receive a formative order; a chain of command so that each courtier has someone to defer to. The Council of Alba shall serve as the head of the courts, and all without a position to lead shall be categorized in their respective sects. II. It shall be the utmost duty of the Clementine Court to redefine for our citizens what it means to be an Aaunite. A common link must be found between the Kingdom’s many cultures, and utilized to create the perfect national identity for our people to take pride in. Through establishing culture and tradition, this identity the court creates shall strive to be one based on poise, ambition, and ingenuity—all the traits that ought to be seen within our subjects. III. In the latest organizational overhaul, our establishment is undergoing a transformation into four distinct departments to meet the demands of this new cultural mission. The Office of Cultivation, dedicated to the arts, will be a hub of creativity and cultural enrichment, nurturing talents in various forms of expression. The Office of Entertainment will focus on events, celebrating joy and revelry, ensuring that merriment and mirth are always in abundance. The Office of the Household will uphold the spirit of servitude, diligently attending to the needs and requirements of our esteemed patrons. The Office of Enlightenment will focus on intellectual pursuits, pursuing knowledge for the benefit of the kingdom and the human mind itself. As part of this restructuring, redundant positions will be phased out, making room for more relevant roles that align with the vision and goals of each department. This reconfiguration promises to bring about greater efficiency, productivity, and a harmonious balance throughout our institution. IV. To avoid cases similar to the one of Lady Allessandra Amador, let those who hold a position within the Clementine Court be barred from holding positions in courts outside of Aaun. Not only will this ensure that their focus remains on the duties of their position, but it will ensure that their loyalties remain to the Crown. V. Positions within the court shall offer citizens closer access to the royal household than is normal. Therefore, let all holding a position within the courts be subject to dark spawn testing, to ensure the safety of the crown and all who serve it. To provide further elaboration, the duties of all positions within the court will also be outlined as follows: Her Royal Majesty, Edith of Reinmar | Her Royal Majesty, Adela Alstion @EnderMaiashiro @ncarr HEAD TO ALL THE COURTS The Queen and the Lady Alba1 are the pillars to which all its members must defer. The Consorts hold direct authority over their court's structure, culture, functions, and traditions, with the ability to appoint whomever they please. Given their respective stations, the incumbent Queen shall have more direct authority than the Lady Alba, but in the case that the Queen is absent, the Lady Alba shall hold this authority in her stead. 1) Given that there is no current Lady Alba, considering the death of HRH, Prince Henry, and the succession of HRM, Edmund I, the Viscountess of Valence shall assume the role of a Queen-Mother, while Edith of Reinmar assume the role of Dowager Queen. These are both Dowager roles, and the two shall hold such authority until a new Queen-Consort is invested. Her Excellency, Aleksandra of Vidaus @Moenah HEAD TO THE COUNCIL OF ALBA Whosoever takes this position shall be appointed the most senior member of the Council of Alba and given the laborious task of managing the court in the interest of the Consorts, aiding in its functioning and prosperity. Given these immense responsibilities, it is of the utmost importance that this member not only be competent in the protocol of the court, but also hold a striking sense of leadership, considering they shall hold the highest authority on the Council. THE COUNCIL OF ALBA In the dawn of a new era for the Council of Alba, a transformative directive has been set in motion. Beyond merely providing counsel, members of the council are now called to take an active role in the effective management of various court departments. The expectation is for each council member to exhibit exceptional proficiency in their respective areas, ensuring that their expertise and guidance translate into tangible results. With this paradigm shift, the council's role evolves into one of active leadership, fostering a cohesive and well-structured governance. By integrating their wealth of knowledge and experience into departmental management, the council will play a vital role in fostering efficiency, collaboration, and progress within the realm. This progressive approach embodies a commitment to achieving unprecedented levels of excellence in every facet of the court's operation. Gone are the days when this esteemed position was solely reserved for consorts of the highest standing. Instead, merit shall be the key determinant for appointing individuals to this crucial role. Candidates vying for the position must demonstrate not only a deep understanding of court protocol but also possess extensive knowledge of the needs and aspirations of the people of Aaun. A Royal Councillor must be attuned to the pulse of the realm, understanding the intricacies and challenges faced by both courtiers and citizens alike. By promoting individuals based on their competence, wisdom, and empathy, the court aims to create a more responsive and compassionate governance that addresses the genuine requirements of the realm. This transformative approach is set to enrich the fabric of the court, allowing it to function more cohesively and effectively while earning the respect and admiration of all. Mirroring the previous requirements and duties of the Councillors of Alba, a few select Royal Advisors shall sit within the council, their duties to offer wisdom and guidance to the Consorts and Chamberlain as needed. Though they shall be required to attend the meetings of the Council, they shall hold no executive power. Her Ladyship, Isabella Varoche @neii HEAD TO THE OFFICE OF THE HOUSEHOLD The Majordomo plays a pivotal role in maintaining the household's cohesion and functionality. They oversee staffing, including ladies-in-waiting/handmaids, manage the court purse, and allocate palace rooms, ensuring essential requirements are met, thus holding high precedence regarding the staff of the court. However, the Queen and Chamberlain take precedence over them if involved in the court's day-to-day running. Those under the Majordomo's authority include; Governors and Governesses: These courtiers are tasked with the care and education of both the children of the court and of the Royal Household. As such, they must be exceptional in intellect and know the virtue of patience. Ladies-in-Waiting, Royal Valets & Maids of Honor: These courtiers are designed to be personal companions to whichever members of the Royal Household they are assigned to. A more detailed description of their specific duties shall be published shortly, along with a call for recruitment. The Servantry: Though the duties of a servant have gone long overlooked, make no mistake; it is because of the servantry that the Hand of Horen remains functioning. It is the duty of all servants to maintain the halls of the palace. Butlers and maids shall remain on call at all events held within the Hand, ready and able to cater when needed. Her Ladyship, Melina-Isabeau de Rosius @liz HEAD TO THE OFFICE OF ENTERTAINMENT The Reveller assumes the critical responsibility of organizing and designing the entertainment schedule throughout the kingdom. Their duties encompass managing events during the Aaunic social season and overseeing productions at the renowned theater, The Plane. This multifaceted role necessitates extensive knowledge of the creative arts, including theater, music, and dance, as they are crucial elements for delivering exceptional and worthy entertainment experiences. Those within the Reveller’s authority shall be; The Master of the Hunt [HH, Prince Heinrich II Alstreim]: A courtier tasked with the management of the Royal hunts and private artillery. They must be skilled in the art of hunting as well as upkeep of the royal wood so that the Royal Family can hunt with ease whenever they wish to do so. The Court Chaplain [Bishop Mikhael of Buron]: This position shall head all religious matters concerning the courtiers of the palace. The Chaplain does not necessarily have to be the cardinal of the region, but they must be certified by the church, and responsible for organizing charities, baptisms, prayers, and rites of maturity. They may also be called upon to offer religious advice. The Sector of Music: This general sector shall be composed of all the court's musicians, minstrels and bards. These individuals shall be tasked with composing songs for the court, and ought to be available to be called on during events. The Sector of Theater: This sector shall encompass the entertainers of the theater, including playwrights, actors, and stagehands. To keep The Plane a lively hub of entertainment, all within this sector must be responsible for holding regular productions, the proceeds of which shall fund further entertainment. The Sector of Dance: This sector shall be composed of the most skilled dancers of the nation. Be they a choreographer or performer, it is imperative that courtiers of this sector be well-versed in not only ballet, but forms of dance from all over the realm. They shall be tasked with creating studies of these dances, as well as holding performances in The Plane. Sister Gisele of Merryweather @clonky HEAD TO THE OFFICE OF CULTIVATION The Bellwether shall be charged with the culture of the court and the nation itself. They document fashion, national culture, and court decorum. Laundresses are fashion makers that work under the bellwether. The bellwether also leads fashion auctions and sales within the palace walls, which makes them also a manager of the court’s monetary expenses and profits, secondary to the Majordomo and Chamberlain. Those within the Bellwether's authority shall be: The Mistress/Master of Robes [Miss Ida de Villain]: A courtier who must have a keen eye for fashion and its ongoings as they will be charged with keeping up with the trends of not only the city of Whitespire, but the nation as a whole. They shall be assigned with assistants, aptly named the Laundresses, tasked with aiding her endeavors of Aaunic couture. The Sector of the Arts: This sector encompasses all the court’s painters, sculptors, and general artists. While upkeeping the paintings found on the walls and halls of The Hand, these courtiers will be called on to provide the Royal Household and members of the court with personal commissions. Mister Cunimund hal’Cingedoz @Ibn Khaldun HEAD TO THE OFFICE OF ENLIGHTENMENT The Curator has undergone a significant update, assuming a more expansive role that now includes overseeing all publications and texts within the court. Their responsibilities have expanded to encompass the intellectual arts, working in close collaboration with the esteemed Royal Society of St. Godwin and the Northern Geographical Society (NGS). In this enhanced capacity, the Curator plays a pivotal role in curating and preserving knowledge, literature, and intellectual pursuits within the court. Their expertise and guidance contribute to fostering a thriving intellectual environment, ensuring the court remains at the forefront of knowledge and learning. Those within the Curator’s authority shall be; Head Librarian [Witold Jazloviecki]: This courtier is responsible for overseeing the entire library inside the Royal Hall of St. Godwin. It is an arduous task to oversee such an abundance of information, the Head Librarian must be skilled in management and have extensive knowledge of the tomes in their arsenal. Documents and works transcribed by the courts and Curator shall be sorted in the library. The Lady/Lord Archivist [Ser Alaric deNeurem]: The archivist is charged with upkeeping the more intimate ongoings of the royal household including births, special events, and changes in power. The Master Alchemist [VACANT]: This scholar shall be charged with all alchemical studies for the betterment of the nation, as well as overseeing other alchemists. Simply knowing alchemy itself is not enough, for the Master Alchemist ought to be capable of different types of the craft, considering its knowledge is so vast. They shall be tasked with providing regular studies for the court. The Grand Mage [Willem Wick]: This scholar is a licensed mage with extensive knowledge of multiple forms of the supernatural, aiding in the interests of the court. Similar to the Master Alchemist, the Grand Mage shall also oversee the licensing and works of other mages of the court. Both the alchemists and mages of the court shall be provided with ample room to practice their craft. The Court Herald [Richard von Leopold]: A retainer of the Queen not only tasked with upkeep the daily duties of the Council of Alba, but one tasked with announcing courtly initiatives, festivities, decrees, and national news to the common folk of Aaun. To meet these demands and responsibilities, the Court Herald, with the help of the Curator, shall be charged with printing a yearly newsletter detailing these very things. The Sector of Scholars: This sector shall encompass all the philosophers and scribes of our nation. To make sure they remain productive, they shall be charged with making regular publications of their findings and discoveries. ON THE MATTER OF WARDSHIP Alongside the formation of a structurally sound Council of Alba, and further the Court of Aaun, the same must be done for courtly education. A system, built to uplift youths of the Kingdom by their assignment to high-standing members of the court and senior members of the Royal Household. This new system is broken into two distinct sects, the first of which being the Maid of Honor, given only to girls of at least five years of age of noble standing. Maids of Honor are tasked with aiding their assigned Royal companions in day-to-day life alongside their education. The male counterpart of such a position shall be known as a Royal Valet where young lords serve alongside Princes of the Household. The second of these two sects is the traditional Ward, with similar parameters of the Maid of Honor role whereby the recipient of such a position—regardless of gender—must be at least five years of age. However, they needn’t be of noble standing nor shall they be assigned to any person of the Royal Household. Instead, a ward will be educated by the member of the court they are paired with. In the special instance where a ward is assigned with succeeding the Grand Mage or Court Alchemist, they may ascend from wardship at the age of sixteen given the complexity of such a role. Members of the court are allowed three wards in total at a time, while members of the Royal Household are allowed two Maids of Honor/Royal Valets. Each of these positions are awarded to youths of the Kingdom, meaning, upon the age of majority (16-21 years of age), they may ascend to higher positions at court. An illustrious age accompanies this new directory, representing a step towards a more efficient and dynamic Clementine Court. Together, with careful consideration and collaboration, we can secure the court's continued success and honor the legacy left by those who forged its path. Should the vacant positions of the court or the duties of its many elaborate sectors interest this dear reader, do not hesitate to send word to the Lady Chamberlain or a member of the Council of Alba. May peace and prosperity reign in our beloved land. SIGNED, HER ROYAL MAJESTY, Edith of Reinmar, Queen of Aaun, Princess-Consort of Alstion, Duchess-Consort of Corazon and Balemena, Countess-Consort of Enswerp and Whitespire HER ROYAL HIGHNESS, Adela of High-Peak, Viscountess of Valence, Dowager Lady of Alba HER EXCELLENCY, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess-Consort of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater, Lady Chamberlain of Clementine Court
  14. THE LEGACY STRENGTHENED Penned by Marlene von Alstreim On the 6th of Harren’s Folly, 1932 On the 5th of Harren’s Folly, 1932, a mere year after the nuptials of the Prince and Princess, the House of von Alstreim is titillated to announce the birth of not one but two children. After an especially healthy pregnancy, the Princess delivered the first boy with ease; but observing family, physicians, and nurses were just as surprised to find her still in labor. Mere minutes later, she delivered the second son. Both bore proudly the color of reddish Alstreim hair like their father and the curious gazes of their mother. Subsequently, while the order of birth is unspecified, one was named CORWIN ULRICH VON ALSTREIM (@Mannyy) after two great patriarchs of the Merryweather bloodline, and the other JOHANNES LOTHAR VON ALSTREIM (@Balthasar) after the first Queen of Sutica and his father, Heinrich Lothar. And after much deliberation over the unexpected nature of their bringings into the world, the Princely couple have decided to withhold the honor of naming an heir so the boys might have equal claim to the throne, free to choose a life of their will. As the boys grow, they shall be observed delicately until they reach the age of maturity, where a grand trial will be held. Whichever boy proves themselves more capable and adept then the other will get the honor of being named the COUNT OF WHISPERWOOD. This choice, although not taken lightly, is to ensure that the selected son has the best interests of Alstreim and Waldenia at heart and is able to grapple the vast world with the same greatness as their ancestors, rather than them growing slothful and expecting such a grueling role to be granted to them. But for now, far from the competitiveness of adulthood, the Princedom of Merryweather and the Rhine invites those close to gather with both sons of Waldenia and the House of von Alstreim in a lighthearted celebration to pay homage to the mother and infants. Beckoned as a “Postpartum Party”, the Princess of Merryweather requires all those who attend to bring a gift for the boys or herself as they gather in the Whitespire garden for drinks, card games, and handsome conversation. SIGNED, HIS HIGHNESS, Heinrich II von Alstreim, Prince of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgrave of Alstreim, Baron of Corwinsburg, Lord of Blackwater HER HIGHNESS, Aleksandra of Vidaus, Princess-Consort of Merryweather and the Rhine, Landgravine of Alstreim, Baroness of Corwinsburg, Lady of Blackwater
  15. "Next child," The infant's aunt murmured, holding her up by her armpits, "Ea'd better see an 'Aleksandra'." Growing curious, she would raise her hand to see if the child could be held by the scruff of its neck.
  16. ALEKSANDRA had awaited an invitation like this for years, spinning in place as it arrived in her hands. Quickly, she threw herself into work; the Ruthern had to ensure Alyona would not be without the perfect gift.
  17. [Karl Pavlovich] “... You know, you truly have taken after me.” Those words from her father brought an eager and joyous smile to ALEKSANDRA’S face. What better glory could there be than to remind the world of her mighty namesake? She was able to take pride in all things, so long as she carried his approval. Hearing him compare her brief accomplishments to her other siblings never failed to instill some excitement in her soul. However, approval was not so easy when it came to her MOTHER. To look down at her daughter and see all the worst she despised about herself and her husband churned her stomach at times. She was born just as indignant, and perhaps a bit more violent — violence hashed out indiscriminately, towards even the most minor of inconveniences. She was nothing like the angelic sister her mother adored so much. And the Ruthern was skilled at concealing just how much she hated that fact. Following her death, it was then that Aleksandra felt as if she had somehow taken her place — as a daughter, at least. All responsibility the late Elizaveta had was instead pushed to her brother. But unlike him, Aleksandra had something to prove. She could show her mother now that she was the strongest, the most competent, the most graceful. Worthy of all love and praise. If she used her intelligence to find an alchemical cure for her mother's ailment, she would get that. That was all she wanted. To be so constantly competitive in all that time somehow changed her, perhaps for the better. Analiesa told her that day that she had taken notice. Why, then, couldn’t she have only waited until it was done? How cruel of her mother, to cut her own life short right before her eyes. Her eyes turn to the rope with nothing but horror.
  18. "Thank GOD for nepotism." Uttered the Ruthern as she held this latest Hearsay to her chest, lifting her head to the heavens and praising the Lord for her mother's royal blood.
  19. WASHING OUT THE SINS KRUSAE ZWY KOONGZEM Issued by the KINGDOM OF HOONSETI-ROOSKA On this 16th day of Joma and Umund, 466 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK, Now that I am a mighty ruler, I am learning that it is best to be very humble. Because I have a strong head, people have just misunderstood me and think that I am mean. They are right, but I went to confessional and prayed this part of me away. So, it will not happen again. To create peace and not chaos in Hoonse, we have come to agree that Mariya can be Lady Palatine, and then we will hold a court to make new jobs. Her mamej is sick and she has no one but her brothers to play with. We will change this and play with her. I think this calls for a Glad Face. [!] A drawing of Aleksandra’s smiling face took over the whole page. Now that I said that, I have some penance to make. Dear Colborns, I am apologizing for my threats and my joke. The shop I bought the gift for Carlus from was a dud and I found out later that they made a sticky paste that goes underneath the hat because when I went to get something else it was sticking on my hand. They will be brutally punished for this. Dear Last Palatine Regent Aaunite Prinzenas Julietta of the Haverlock, I am apologizing that you’re always crying because of me. I don’t hate you because you are from Aaun. I don’t hate you. In spite of what you heard, I can actually be very nice. Watch this: I was really trying to help you by searching the lands for a cure to you being sick. I guess it did not work. And I got mad that you were not accepting the nice thing I did for you, so I grabbed you. That was not nice. I am sorry. To make up for this, my hands will be stricken with a rod until they realize what they have done. I will do this in the next court as penance. In the future I can see you forgiving me like Godan just forgave me. And we will see about holding a fake tea party between Ooun and Hoonse since I know now that you do not like tea. Now that I have said my apologies, everyone will go back to being glad and happy and we will all play happily. IV JOVEO MAAN, Her Majesty, Aleksandra I, Koenas of Hoonseti-Rooska Her Excellentecy, Mariya Karenina Barbanov-Bihar, Lady Palatine of Hoonseti-Rooska

  21. A NEW ORDER KRUSAE ZWY KOONGZEM Issued by the KINGDOM OF HOONSETI-ROOSKA On this 11th day of Gronna and Droba, 466 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK, Over the time of this Saints Day, the Koenas Elizaveta first of her name chose to step down and crown her sister Aleksandra the first of her name as her successor. Some people may like this and some people might not. But that is why I, Her Majesty Aleksandra the first of her name am here to tell you that this is the best thing that could have happened to all of you. I remember how I felt when my sister got very sick. I was sad. She was not playing with me anymore. So that is why I went to Godan to pray and this is the reason she made it. Also in this time i was doing everything that I could do to hold Hoonse together. I was trying my best only to be talked over and skidd-andered. She saw how smart I was and she chose me for a reason. She was not the only one who chose me but fate said that this day would come. Fate said that I was bound to be successful. This is why I will share with Hoonse all the things I am planning to do. All those who do not know how to read will be taught how to read. I will summon my tutor and we will use the Bravahn classroom to learn. Everyone who does not know how to read will be given the same text books that I used to become very good at reading so they can become just as good as me. Reading and writing is very important. I will order a bouncing castle for every child that is very loyal to the crown of Hoonse. This way any party that we hold anywhere will be made 2 times better. Then, I will have a true crown made for all the Koenases and Koengs of Hoonse to come. We will now have court more often to see how everyone is doing. A new council will be made too since it is very hard to trust people close to you. The Grand Lady Amador will keep her position. She did nothing wrong. Together our enemies will be crushed under our boots. I know the names of every traitor and every plotter. My eyes do not only see in front of me, they see over the whole city. So no matter where you go or what you do, I will know. And like the traitor you are you will face the punishments. There will be no place left to hide. All your plots will crumble to my knowledge. And if you are reading this my eyes have already got you. Think fast! These are my eyes: If you want my crown really bad you will have to slay me yourself. So you better go ahead and try your worst. I am all of me. Here’s a picture of how frightening I can get. But I can also be kind if you are loyal and make the right choices. If you do that last part then you will have a fun time. Thank you. IV JOVEO MAAN, Her Majesty, Aleksandra I, Koenas of Hoonseti-Rooska
  22. THE DRUZSTRA BASH The Birthday Celebration of the Lady Aleksandra vas Ruthern penned by the Princess Royal, due to the young Lady’s inability to write On the 6th day of Joma and Umund of 463 E.S. SANGKRUV I RUTHER, As the newest generation of our great nation sprouts before our eyes, it is with great merriment that House Ruthern opens its halls to host the fifth name-day celebration of the young Lady Aleksandra vas Ruthern, inviting all the youth of the nation, common and noble. Attendance from the citizens of the Kingdom of Hoonse, however, was emphasized by Her Ladyship to be mandatory (or, at the very least, highly encouraged). The guests of Vidaus are promised only the highest of delicacies, as both cake and refreshments will be specially provided by The Little Acre bakery. Gifts are highly appreciated—encouraged, in fact. Her Ladyship was very adamant in expressing that she would not be satisfied unless she received at least one new disc for her state-of-the-art jukebox or jewelry of some kind. Heavy emphasis was made on the former. Guests are highly encouraged to bring to the bash their own snails, as the young Lord Viktor var Ruthern prepares to revitalize the art of the Snailula, recently learning of its existence. Paint will be provided for partygoers to decorate their chosen champions, and between the other games provided, shall have the time to train them to become the fastest in the realm. Rumors whisper of a brooding figure lurking about the Duchy known as ‘the Destructor’. Should he be spotted, the Lady Aleksandra first warns those looking for trouble on the eve of her celebration, and notes they shall be swiftly dealt with. Those looking for fun, however, may find the myth a charming sort, allegedly able to entertain them with lightning from his hands. Celebrations will begin in the halls of the keep, whereafter festivities are set to move outside into the gardens and tourney grounds, where guests will be greeted by the famed ‘bouncy house’, an invention popularized at the Princess Royal’s own bash years ago. DRUZ GJERNZ AG GRYVNZ, Her Serene Highness, Analiesa Josefina Ruthern Princess Royal of Hanseti-Ruska, Duchess of Karosgrad, Duchess-Consort of Vidaus, Countess-Consort of Metterden, Baroness-Consort of Rostig, Lady of Druzstra Her Ladyship, Aleksandra vas Ruthern
