[[IGN:]] _Helmet_ Your name: Galathol Cobbett Would you be willing to financially contribute to such a cause? Yes Please, write some ideas you have surrounding such an idea: Neutral territory. It likely will not last the moment the Empire shatters from infighting. Planning for this eventual dismantling would be ideal, so that it could serve as a ground to reseed the continent with our diverse peoples. Magic and Alchemics and other shenanigans such as this should not be focused on as much as any other profession. Your Signature: G

Blasting Potion Recipe Amendment/Clarification
Helmet replied to StingyParrot's topic in Recently Outdated Lore
To play devil's advocate, symbols tend to represent concepts, not exactly literal effects. This could range from fire actually spreading on something flammable, to trees punching through rock to get at water/nutrients to continue 'burning' through them. thus, the 'Burning' could mean the expansion of force (strength/rage), at the cost of instability. while i'm all for clarification by defining drake's tail oil as drake's tail + oil, blasting potion is the very last one in need of a buff by making it cheaper lmfao -
The helmed man, good friend that he was, immediately ripped down one of these letters and forwarded the spam to Arthur Burke. @xo31

I think this does address some of the inherent flaws with kloning's reincarnation, & makes it more in line with other CAs with revival mechanics. Probably better than leaving it as is imo. Give primnya a chance here. I am definitely probably biased however, as this is a tawkin buff. Also yes, the aurum burning effect is a nothing burger. buff/change it so it matters, or get rid of it.

how many fingers am i holding up also out of the 3 000 templar trophies you have on sigrun, which one is your favorite and why? can be one you had in the past but lost, too.

[!] Many simple, white papers were scattered throughout Azuras. I, Galathol Cobbett, require material for another innovative project of mine. All that is required is one ingot of Starsteel. I shall offer 1700 minae in return. Write a letter to myself should you be interested. [IGN: _Helmet_]

this is intentional 👍 the 'other magical item' isn't needed, just throw a T3 spell or higher at the thanhic steel item beforehand then smack it with your 1 arcanium item repeatedly. if it's a raw thanhium item, skip step 1 and go straight to whacking. This amendment by no means declaws arcanium against thanhium, it just tones down how hard and quick of a counter it is.

You can still do this if it passes, just be careful putting all your eggs in one basket

Additions are BOLD and ITALIC Removals are struck out Arcanium Refining Redlines Reasoning: While i do not contest Arcanium counting as a T5 enchantment, it seems a bit overtuned when matched up with Thanhium. Each Arcanium object effectively counts as three separate T5 spells in an object, in which you only need one or two to completely destroy a comparatively far more valuable Thanhium item. On top of this, the Arcanium isn't even destroyed in return, it just disables itself for a day. Lowering that interaction down from three T5s to three T3s seems not only more fair but also makes the lore more consistent in my eyes. According to Thanhic Steel's absorption chart, three T3 spells is treated similarly to one T5 spell. If Arcanium is a T5 spell's worth of mana stuffed into metal and lasts 3 strikes against Thanhium before going dry, it would be reasonable for it to be split up this way. https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/189547-✓-world-lore-arcanium-gift-of-the-void/

Additions are Italic and Bold Raw Thanhium Redlines Refined Thanhium Redlines Reasoning/OOC Notes: Increases the risk of having many thanhium items while not necessarily getting rid of their benefits. Imo I don't think thanhium is worth using (and this would just be another reason NOT to use it), but at the very least we can stop the mindless hoarding of it. Ultimately the threshold of spent thanhium items to cause a cascade can be changed to 3 should 2 be too restrictive- the number itself isn't too important.

fills the niche of the 'fire bow' very nicely in it's own LOTC-ified way using heat and existing materials. +1

just make this a sub-culture lmao

[✗] [Amendment] CORE POTIONS: weak potion recipe batch sizes/cost adjustments
Helmet replied to Helmet's topic in Denied Lore
I respect u for this take however I think it would be way too easy to spin it into something it's not meant to be if these potions no longer need a FA, like modern-day glowsticks. Alchemy in it's current state is regulated at least a little due to the fact that it's an FA, and needs to be taught by someone with a TA, and making these little things open lore would muck up the feat me thinks -
Additions are BOLD AND UNDERLINED Removed stuff is STRUCK OUT Luminosity Potion (Common | T1) Giving credit to its name as, this is quite literally light in a bottle. It is often employed by spelunkers and miners in order to navigate throughout darkened caves with a mere vial of alchemic liquid as opposed to carrying around entire lanterns. Land's Nurture (Common | T1) A concoction made as a means to facilitate and nurture regents and creatures that normally could not survive in certain climates, often employed by botanists or herbalists in order to keep their various herbs alive in less favorable environments. Reasoning: Luminosity Potion - More or less worse Arkenlyte. Being able to make MULTIPLE for a far cheaper cost would be good, especially when people can just bring a lantern/cast mage light, a spell several magics including housemagery have by default. Land's Nurture - I don't think I've seen a single person use this. Cutting it's cost down while increasing it's batch size to 3 feels correct, as usually crops are grown not individually but together- thus necessitating the use of multiple counts of land's nurture.

[✗] [Amendment] Lets Nerf Tawkin Again, Harsher PK clause edition
Helmet replied to Tentoa's topic in Denied Lore
I'm a fan of this amendment overall because i LOVE culling the weak, but i'm not sure what the lore justification would be and if this is the right way to go about bettering the thematics. On one end, yeah it's probably evil/goes against the order of things. But on the other, why would they (as in Aengadaemonics/god or what have you) hate you for this? And why should we deny the people their funny little guys, when Alchemy is known for being morally neutral overall? Perhaps homonculi/klones need to become more grotesque some how as opposed to putting more red tape on it if we're looking to reinforce it's themes of being taboo and unsettling. Bigger PK clauses tend to result in less people committing overall, rather than people changing how they RP me thinks. Maybe we can rewrite the basic Greater Mutations instead, which would apply to Homonculus CAs and Klones? They seem a bit too 'normal' for medieval genetic rewriting. Let them have grotesque aesthetics that CANNOT be overwritten, while not stepping on the shoes of people who just want funny lil NPC chimera creatures. +, this would let people identify what a homonculus/klone is capable of BEFORE they fight them, should the aesthetics of the mutations be on display. As examples, give people/homonculi with augmented senses bulging, bulbous eyes with no discernible iris or with Heightened Dexterity fellas, simply extra (aesthetic) joints which would better explain the blunt dmg weakness thing. imagine every mallet strike along your arm hitting a funny bone as opposed to just the elbow. An exception would be Natural armament as it's already got physical tells. good on it. -

[✗] [Amendment] End the Tyranny of the Juliet Potion
Helmet replied to blackhand7's topic in Denied Lore
I think this is a LIL biased as the echolocation thing is a MArt + they are wielding thanhium, a rare ST material along with potions. The only things exclusive to homonculi are the mutations. Giving potions/ST materials to the paramount/zar'ei/pale lord evens the playing field immediately, as consider the following: 'oh, smoke whispers? throw an air purifier. or I, as a Zar'ei with wings, can literally blow away the potion's effects by flapping them.' 'oh, he has thanhium? let me 2 tap it with this rod of arcanium i stole off a dead voidal mage.' All of a sudden blud is just an uruk with a worse seer passive that won't be hurt by malflame. He will either be cooked, or the playing field will then be even, and this ain't even counting any of the MArt abilities the others may bring to the table if we equally gear both sides. Prep time counters prep time. Regardless, I do agree that we need more ways to pk homoncs, or make juliet's potion more available somehow. maybe a void ritual. Making the juliet potion worse ain't gonna help. -
-/+ 0 What I think should get a 'no' : Crank crossbow/longbow compatibility. I think keeping non-plate piercing bolts/arrows would be preferable and make more sense, as the wood is incredibly brittle. Even if launched out of a crank crossbow/longbow and NOT fragmenting, it'd just break apart on whatever plate it hits me thinks. Having it be able to pierce plate, even if it shatters afterwards, would imply it's iron-sharpness or something. additionally, 'splinters in the wound' sounds less like a downside and moreso a buff/creeps into Morion's niche of fragmentation. I believe it would be more fun for people to struggle with getting through platemail with the wood, so that more interesting strategies need to be used aside from 'get arrow, shoot guy'. Maybe you use a potion or spell to weaken the plates, then shoot through it. Also, arrows are already /used when fired according to material compendium. I'm unsure if this applies to player signed materials as well, so you may correct me if i'm wrong on that. What I think should pass : The unvague-ification of the post is needed, and letting blisterbark work on other kinds of greater vampire is cool :)
