  4. Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL CROWN ✠ HEED, LEAL SONS OF HOREN; . . . and have it be known by our Imperial Writ that Earoslav of the House of Rostova is henceforth, in perpetuity through the will of the Crown, afforded the stewardship of the former lands of the Ravenstates, excluding the County of Stirland - hereinafter referred to as only ‘coronet’ - through the instrument of vassalage, bearing the title of Duke of Krukiv. It is for their steadfast loyalty to the House of Horen and the Emperor of Man, and their storied connections to the lands enfeoffed, that we deem the Duke of Krukiv of the sobriety and sound mind necessary for bearing the responsibility of this coronet. In addition, the Imperial Crown affirms the Rostovan claim to the Amador Counties of Mondstadt, Vendere, Crestfall and Gravelhold, to hold and to keep under the same prescriptions described herein. The rights of vassalage are recognized and confirmed forthwith upon the promulgation of this instrument, afforded now and to Earoslav Rostova’s generations, passing the titles, lands, and coronet to a designated heir at the time of death, abdication, or otherwise. The obligations of vassalage are inscribed to be compulsory for now and all ages, unless they are amended by strictly written and promulgated consent of the Emperor, to be as thus; ✠ Collect and administer taxes, be it over land, housing or commerce within their coronet, ✠ Uphold law and peace within their coronet, in accordance to Imperial and local laws, ✠ Pay the negotiated tribute to the Imperial Crown, ✠ Counsel and advice in times of peace, ✠ And raise levies, donate weaponry, and make resources available in the Empire’s defence. 5. Coarse coughs into a bloodied napkin. He had smoked from eleven to nineteen, unsupervised as the boy had been. A foul grip on his torso threatened to burst his lungs right open, posture held upright by a stick. Of all the things that kept him stood, that cane fell short of she. Trembling hands over a crumpled parchment. The greatest years of his youth slipped away grain by grain from his nervy grip, down and to the shore at his feet. They fell as he did, down stairs and onto clinic floors. But she, like the tide, washed it all away into the sea. Heavy eyes toward a cloudy sky. His whole body had felt a part of it; of the clouds and the breeze, of the sun and the cold tiles of the rooftop. Like many, they ought’ve been his last moments. But swift like the wind, she had gone. It was until now that he understood her inaction. Selfishly did he only remember these, and not the rest. They hadn’t been the pretty things, nor the happy things, but rarely had any of it. She had been present in them as much as he had. Though ego had kept him from voicing it, he had always held the same respect for her, even as she built a high pedestal for him to stand on. To both their follies, all that she had turned her head up in appraisal made a distance too far for him to reach and raise her up along with. It was a silent regret upon that plinth, to realize he was truly the last.

  7. An elder pharisee receives word far too late, but just early enough. The yellow of his robe, the hue of the Horizon, presses down upon his wisened, scraggly form like a celestial thumb of a hand hunching his back forwards in exhaustion. Wistful eyes sag with dark circles, downturned to the stacks of paper on his office desk. Despite himself, there were no tears nor seething groans, but only a drift of nostalgia. Nimble arms fold around his midsection as he sees the island of his home, the eagles' nest, and the faces of Emilija and his sisters and his brothers and his father. They all judge in their particular ways, some not at all. Time had marred their expressions beyond recognition. He could only trust himself to remember his eldest. He saw that face on every birch tree, on clean marble tiles, on elaborate flower crowns. Even if they wouldn't allow him presence and jubilation, he did, and privately celebrated her nuptials. At least his father couldn't deny him that. He dares to stretch his gangly bones from his seat and head south to the markets, a skip in his step. He'd send a gift.
  8. … as preserved by… Issued and averred by the office of the IMPERIAL ARCHCHANCELLOR His Imperial Majesty, Tiberias I Horen, Emperor of Man & His Imperial Highness, Hadrian Tiberias Horen, Imperial Crown Prince ON THE FUNCTION OF THE IMPERIAL PRIVY It is through the Imperial Crown’s delegated authority that the councillors and advisors of the Imperial Privy handle executive matters of governance at the Emperor’s will. The creation, amendment, and derogation of Privy seats may only be made at the Crown’s convenience, as long as they suffice in addressing all means of administration to ensure the realm’s prosperity and bureaucratic efficiency. The councilors of the Imperial Privy are expected to fulfill their duties to the Crown without bias or being clouded by their own personal or familial ambitions. Their duty is, first and foremost, to ensure that His Imperial Majesty’s vision for the Empire is implemented and that his dictates are followed to the letter. They are also expected to advise the Emperor or Archchancellor when called upon to do so. Furthermore, the Imperial Privy has a responsibility to attend to the maintenance of the Empire and the Emperor’s personal holdings. 17. Expansion on an Earlier Promulgated Curial Declaration. . . To the Faithful of Canondom, As assuredly as the mandate of divine justice is the prerogative of the Temple of the True Faith, the ‘Covenant’ of sacrilege is again as before foiled decisively in the field of battle, and the day draws ever nearer when the Tribunal of the Holy Host shall preside in New Valdev and account for the disobedient their manifold crimes against the Lord and His Church. Let it be known that the obstinate and stiffnecked foes of the Lord and His Church shall be afforded the damnation of their unrepentant lords. The stubbornness of the Excommunicated has cost the common man and gentry who are called to serve them in arms not only the peril of their very lives but also the standing of their soul. Because what shall be the defense of those who have marched against the Church in arms when stood before the Pearly Gates? That the loyalty to a lord temporal, disobedient and unrepentant, had, after all, surpassed loyalty to The LORD Himself? It is folly to follow in the sealed doom of another's. No righteous man need shed their lifeblood and suffer the loss of their estate for the sake of the Excommunicant. To those for whom obedience to the Church is regarded, who with prudence review the nearing times, know that Mercy is the domain of the Lord and subsequently the mantle of His Church still. Be it known that every Household, noble or common still in defiance of the Church need not follow in the extinction of their lords. To those who see the Lord's justice is nigh, the Temple of the True Faith extends amnesty and return to graces to its Faithful flock. To those vehement in their hate of the Lord's Ministry, they shall be tried duly, and the inheritance of the wicked shall become the bounty of the righteous. Until such a time as closely hastens as when the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska, the Kingdom of Balian, the Kingdom of Hyspia and the Commonwealth of Petra, in their perpetrated attacks on the Most Holy Temple, are defeated in battle and brought to heel before the Lord, the gates of redemption shall not remain barred to those within the domains who know that the morrow is the dominion of the Lord and His Justice. The Divine Right to Rule of the sacrilegious princes, deriving the entirety of its vested authority from the Lord and His Church, as per Scripture and Horenic tradition, is rendered obsolete as a result of their Excommunication and belligerence against the Church. The regal and princely Crowns of the aforementioned are bereft of their divine mandate, that very power that substantiates them, and possess no prerogative to lord over Horenkind; HENCEFORTH, the oaths of vassalage sworn to Excommunicant Joren Manfred of Hanseti-Ruska, Excommunicant John of Balian, Excommunicant Therin of the Petra, and Excommunicant Amarantha of Hyspia, are hereby through the Apostolic Right derived by the Laurels of the Exalted, by Decree of the Pontifical Curia representing the Pontifex in Absentia, declared null and void, for a vow made before the Lord cannot be perpetuated in defiance to Him, and shall no longer bind a vassal to their criminal suzerain in loyalty of arms and/or service. Therefore the order, and not mere request, though by free will remaining ultimately a choice: To Landed Noble Houses of the covenant, to contact: Enrique Cardinal Du Loc ( @tasty_cheesecake), James Caridnal Rhosmark ( @Malins Welcome) or Auris Vourkehardt (@Tainga), to discuss the terms of amnesty and realignment and the consequent accommodations and/or land grants, depending on the size of your vassal/family/title, in either the Pontifical States or the Kingdom of Numendil. To Commoners, Gentry and Unlanded Noble Houses of the covenant, to contact: Cornelius Fellowmere (@Norgeth) or Auris Vourkehardt (@Tainga), to discuss terms of amnesty and realignment and the consequent procurement of housing and employment in the Pontifical States or the Kingdom of Numendil. Leave while you may the path of destruction, for the righteous and Faithful need not suffer in vain. Failure to accept proffered mercy will bear great consequences not only on your soul but on your title and house. In Faith, The Pontifical Curia THE PONTIFF LIVES GOD IS WITH US! SECTION VIII CANONIZATIONS It is through the Apostolic Right bestowed unto Us through the Laurel derived from the Exalted, that this Holy Church recognizes the miracles of these following persons and raises them to the Sainthood; SAINT FRANCISCO OF HYSPIA Sancte Franciscus, Ora Pro Nobis! Patron Saint of the Hyspian People, Martyrdom by Pagans, and the College of Cardinals. Symbol: Red Parrot. MIRACLES During the times of the Hyspian Schism, the then Cardinal Francisco was captured and taken to the lands of Norland, where he was beheaded for being a strong defender of the canonist White Hyspian faction that fought against the pagan Red Hyspians. The moment his martyred blood touched the ground, it rained at an instant, leaving witnesses in awe. Posthumously, during a mass for the safety of the missing Co-Sovereign Julian of the Hyspian people, the name of the Blessed Francisco was invoked, and by divine inspiration the search party was able to find the missing Sovereign, who otherwise would have remained lost. SAINT RHOSYN OF THE PETRA Sancta Rhosyn, Ora Pro Nobis! Patron Saint of Peacekeeping, Diplomatic Meetings, and the Female Priestly Vocation. Symbol: White Lamb. MIRACLES During the escalating tensions between the then Kingdom of Aaun and the Sovereignty of Ravenmire, Cardinal Rhosyn was divinely inspired in her speech, achieving a nearly impossible peace and bringing forth a period of prosperity and unity between the canonist peoples. While on pilgrimage, the Cardinal and her entourage were assaulted by a sizable group of necromancers. To defend her flock, and while bound and captured by the dark forces, the Cardinal chanted a protective sermon. As she did so, she was enveloped in a bright light, casting away the darkness that surrounded her, and allowing enough time for the others to flee. All that remained of her body, as she was raised to the Skies, was her rosary. At the monastery of her namesake, that of the Venerable Rhosyn, during the consecration of the location, those present were overtaken by a vision. Her last moments were seen, witnessed by the Chancellor Ledicort Vuiller, the Cardinal James and Bishop Godfrey, and a holy relic - a ring - was miraculously revealed, offered as a memento by the Skies. SAINT HIGH PRIEST CAIUS PRIMUS Sancte Caius Primus, Ora Pro Nobis! Patron Saint of the High Priesthood, Inquisitors, and Martyrdom by the Dark. Symbol: The Mercyflame. MIRACLES St. Caius Primus has such a vast degree of miracles assigned to him, that the Curia and Synod of Bishops are still actively compiling an exhaustive list to do them justice. Accordingly, we cannot provide an exhaustive list of miracles at this time, but his canonization is in full canonical and legal effect. It is thereby that the Court of Mont Lemon, through which the Holy Mother Church exercises its diplomacy, seeks to restate the Sovereignty of Hyspia’s union to the faith, as a monarch ordained by God’s most sacred institution to rule over their people. And, as well, ensures the efforts to spread faith and unity betwixt the goodly people of Horen continues its steady march. I I O N D E F E N C E Sovereign Xiomara I of Hyspia spoke before the Holy See her oath of defence, in the name of the Holy Mother Church, when crowned and invested as thus. And, similarly, the Mother Church in its ecclesiastical capacity, swears therefore to defend the Hyspian flock, should any threat of the kind arise. 22. The Apostolic City Accord Penned and Promulgated on the 19th of the Amber Cold, 214 S.A. . . . or. . . The 19th of Sigismund's End, 2010 A.D. [!] The following missive combines a first person perspective and results of a meeting regarding the attack on the Holy See. A cry rang out in the city square of Vallagne, interrupting a meeting of the Petrine Laurel. “The front of the Holy See was just blown up! We barely got out of there - and Cursed children claiming to be from Celia’nor say this is the start of a war against the Church!” Upon hearing that, Therin commanded his knights and swords of St. Emma, to mount their horses and ride off so they may investigate and render aid if required. They arrived to find the front of the Church in a horrid state. Covered in ash, though one clear symbol was left behind: A Silver Phoenix of Celia’nor was etched into a nearby stone. After a short survey of the surrounding area, the young King declared “We ride for Celia’nor. I don’t believe they were truly involved and they must be informed about what happened here.” A quick ride to the Leyu’sil led to a hasty meeting being called. An explanation of the attack was offered to the Celia’nor officials present, where they clarified having no knowledge of the incident. Therin would let out a sigh of relief, later admitting to the group “Well, either I was right, and you weren’t involved, or I’d be wrong, and everyone I brought with me would all be dead.” Soon thereafter, a plan would form between the Commonwealth, Celia’nor, and the Mother Church. The following would be published across the realms of Aevos; Given the information and the false accusations the Principalty of Celia’nor, The Holy See and the Commonwealth of the Petra denounce the attack upon the Church and the cursed children who caused it. Additionally the following is agreed upon and takes effect immediately: I. The Commonwealth of the Petra, the Principalty of Celia’nor, and The Pontifical Territories known herein as The Signatories agree to capture them the ones responsible for the burning of the Holy See and hand them over to the Church’s High Court for appropriate procedure through their judicial apparatus. II. The Commonwealth and the Holy See shall be permitted to perform joint patrols along with Celia’norian authorities to seek those responsible, within Celia’nor’s territory. III. Celia’nor shall be permitted to assist Petra and the Holy See in joint investigative efforts, the former’s delegation led by Jarad Mah’nel and Aganar Kalgan-Silveira. IV. The Signatories agree to honor each other’s sovereignty. V. The Principalty of Celia’nor, and The Pontifical Territories agree to a pact of non-aggression and extradition for the duration of five Elven/Saint’s weeks. Signed, HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, Therin Adil, by the Grace of God, King of the Petra,Marquise de Val d’Estenou, Count of Temesch, Torm Marian, Brasca, and Moere, Viscount of Mies, Baron of Garmont, Vallagne-en-Petra, Eagles Peak, Hrenthorne, and Resmore, Defender of Liberty Her Royal Highness, A’eollaja Ibarellan, Archprelate of the Talyiinist Faith, Lady of Sohae Sulli, High Councilor of Religious Affairs of the Principality of Celia’nor His Excellency, Viro’nir Reuen’thal Ithradryl, Lord Marshal of the Celia’Diraar, Grandmaster of the Silven Order, Lord Justicar, Progenitor of the Ithradryl talonnii, High Councillor for Military Affairs of the Principality of Celia’nor His Lordship, Jarad Mah’nel, Lord Commander of the Celia’diraar, Emissary of Celia’nor Progenitor of the Mah’nel Bloodline HIS APOSTOLIC EXCELLENCY, Legatus a Latere, Justice of the High Court, Ledicort Alexander Vuiller ('Reverend' Fatha' Theodore K. Bless us with words spoken, and gestures made, for the goodness of Thy flock whole, be they whence they are, for they are all of Thy body. Take us on Thy Path to Virtue, Amen. ✠ That the Mother Church, in its eternal duty, has stood as spiritual guide is a truth well-known, yet it finds itself now in some state seen only centuries-past; it has seen temporal holding, and temporal office, and temporal lords all set beneath its purview. It is thus found by the Sacred See of Lemon Hill, by writ of the Laurel of the Exalted, that the Pontifical Territories must reach toward its fellow man of Canondom, and open the Gates of Saint Tylos once more. So are the secular dictates, and courts, and titles of the Pontifical States established and affirmed; ✠ ON THE FUNCTION OF THE APOSTOLIC NUNCIATURE Whereas the Synod of Bishops has long stood as spiritual ambassadors of the Lord God and his Holy Mother Church, their place is with their flock and fellow. Thus does the Nunciature function in its primacy to act as diplomats and aides of the Pontifical States and its Lemon-Court, whereby it sees in absolute measure to the health of bond between the Mother Church, and its fealty-states, and all the Princes of Canondom. ✠ ON THE FUNCTION OF THE LITTLE CURIA Whereas the Pontifical Curia has long stood as spiritual aide to the High Pontiff as Vicar of the Lord God, their place is to preside over matters of Spirit and mind. Thus does the Little Curia function in its primacy to preside over the temporal courts and cultural affairs of the Pontifical States, that those pledged to the Lord God’s Vicar direct might see their lands and bonds strengthened under his goodly purview. HIS APOSTOLIC EXCELLENCY LEDICORT ALEXANDER of VUILLER ✠ OSTARIUS Who acts as presider over the affairs of the Pontifical States as regards its distribution of honorifics and petty titles to foreign and internal entities. HER APOSTOLIC EXCELLENCY ILIA AENETH of EKAIN I I I T H E P R A C T I C E S O F T H E A P O S T O L I C C O U R T CORAM NOBIS On the practices of the Apostolic Court when residing within the Court of Mont Lemon. AS REGARDS THE CODE OF DRESS That the Priesthood of Owyn and its rites have long maintained codices of garb and formality, so too must its court-equivalent uphold these holied prescriptions. It is thus that representatives of the Court of Mont Lemon are bidden, in their homely presence, to garb themselves solely in white, that the austerity of the Apostolic Court might be maintained. Of the greatest delegate present, a sash of yellow is instructed to be worn. AS REGARDS THE STANDARDS OF DECORATION That the Mother Church has long maintained prescriptions of spiritual devices as set within its temples and churches, its secular physicalities must maintain similar prescriptions. It is thus that the Court of Mont Lemon is bidden to be adorned in green, upon the formal visitation of states pledged to the Pontifical States; to be adorned in purple, upon the visitation of members of the Papal Nobility, and to be adorned in red, upon the visitation of foreign Princes. AS REGARDS THE ORDERS OF REPRESENTATION That the Priesthood of Owyn has long held structures of hierarchy and delegations of authority, so too must these hierarchies be maintained in the temporal dealings of the Court of Mont Lemon. It is thus that the orders of representation for the Court are set: Where the High Pontiff is preferred, his authority is represented firstly in the Legati a Latere, thereafter by any member of the College, thereafter by any member of the Synod, thereafter by any member of the Curia, thereafter by any member of the priesthood, thereafter by any layman of lesser service to the Mother Church. The highest present authority, save the High Pontiff, must be seated to the right-hand of the High Pontiff’s seat. AS REGARDS THE RITES OF ENTRY That the Mont Lemon, once prophesied by the late Mother Lorina as a site of great reverence, is the seat of the Lord’s Vicar, its continued sanctity must be ensured. It is thus that particular rites of entry are prescribed upon the reception of foreign delegates, that they might pass in austerity beneath the Gates of Saint Tylos. They are described thus: At the foot of the Mont Lemon, beneath the Gates of Saint Tylos, those gathered on behalf of the Court of Mont Lemon are bidden to stand across the pathway, in physical blockade of it. Those in formal visitation must sit prostrate upon the ground, and pay heed to the Lord God and His Divine Authority as exercised by His Vicar. Thereupon must the foremost delegate of the Court come forth, and proffer upon that visiting Prince or ambassador induction unto the Order of the Prophetic Hill of Lorina. They must then be bidden to rise, and asked upon what authority they claim entry, whereupon the visiting delegate must name their claim to entry by that right of their equestrian order. It is thus that entry is granted. AS REGARDS THE PROCESSIONAL PATH OF MONT LEMON That the Mont Lemon has seen religious settlement for nigh a century, so does it bear a great bevy of sites of spiritual significance, all of which must see their dues and reverence paid. It is thus that the path to the Temple and its Holy See is designated thus: From the Gate of Saint Tylos, must the joined delegations proceed firstly unto a lemon tree, wherefrom the lowliest member of the visiting entourage must chop a branch. This branch must be passed between each member of the delegation, until the greatest authority therein, who proceeds unto the Great Temple and feeds it to the Taberacle’s Flame. ✠ CORAM VOBIS On the practices of the Apostolic Court when residing within foreign courts. AS REGARDS THE CODE OF DRESS That the Priesthood of Owyn has maintained an eternal presence within all the Canonist Principalities, so must its temporal court sustain such a mandate of guidance in its dress. It is thus that representatives of the Court of Mont Lemon are bidden, in their foreign presence, to garb themselves largely in blue, that the authority of the Apostolic Court might be maintained. Of the greatest delegate present, a sash of yellow is instructed to be worn. AS REGARDS THE STANDARDS OF ADDRESSMENT That the Mother Church has long maintained lesser rites of particular relevance to the members of the Eternal Flock, so too must its temporal counterpart maintain their own rites of address unto foreign courts. It is thus that the constituents of the Court of Mont Lemon are bidden to speak with absolute formality when in occupation of foreign court or realm, with especial note given to the order of precedent so-outlined in the Orders of Procession hereunder in the course of dialogue. AS REGARDS THE ORDERS OF PROCESSION That the Priesthood of Owyn has long held structures of hierarchy and delegations of authority, so too must these hierarchies be maintained in the temporal dealings of the Court of Mont Lemon. It is thus that the orders of procession for the Court are set: Where the High Pontiff stands at the head, so he is followed by the Legatus Natus in presiding over the territory, thereafter by the Legati a Latere, thereafter by members of the College, thereafter by members of the Synod, thereafter by the general priesthood, thereafter by laymen of the Curia, thereafter by laymen of lesser service to the Mother Church. AS REGARDS THE ORDERS OF PRESENTATION That the Holy Vicar, his College, his Curia, and his Synod, have held particular measures of order in spiritual conventions of the Mother Church, so too must such formal measures be held in equivalency in the temporal dealings of its courtly equivalent. It is thus that the orders of presentation for the Court are set: He of second-greatest authority is bidden to extend, firstly, any-such gifts onto the greatest present authority as regards the delegates of the Court of Mont Lemon. Thereafter, this greatest authority must grant such gifts onto the greatest authority of the court which they do inhabit. All delegates are thereafter called to make an exclamation of adoration to the Lord God and His Great Servants. Then is the secondary authority bidden to present the foremost authority, who thereafter proceeds unto regular conversation with those members of the court to which the Court of Mont Lemon is in visitation. AS REGARDS APOSTOLIC BESTOWMENTS That the Lord God has given unto the Mother Church a great many gifts of spirit which it does share with all the men of the Eternal Flock, so too must its temporal equivalence bestow such gifts in what capacity it may. Whereas the granting of Papal Nobility and induction unto the Equestrian Orders is a practice contained solely to the Mont Lemon, the granting of honorary distinctions as includes medals and crosses of particular distinction are permitted beyond the Holy See. These are to be granted with primacy, whereafter a customary Gift of Lemons is to granted, whereafter any further gift of miscellany is to be granted, with particular adherence given to swords for those of martial bearing, tomes for those of scholarly bearing, and woolen garb for those of political bearing. I V T H E P A P A L N O B I L I T Y & H O N O R I F I C S O F S T A N D A R D N A T U R E PAPAL DUCHY OF BURGUNDY Which is granted on a hereditary basis. ✠ ORDER OF THE PROPHETIC HILL OF LORINA As an equestrian honorific of the Pontifical States, granted to favoured ambassadors and Princes on their official visitation to the Court of Mont Lemon. ✠ ORDER OF VISIGIA As an equestrian honorific of the Pontifical States, granted on exceptional basis to members of the Canonist faith. ✠ CROSS OF THE VEN.
