Here we are.
When I first joined the GM team I did so rather without ambition - I told Firespirit44 when he asked me the question;
"What will you do on the GM team?"
I thought about it for a while. I turned to him and answered him honestly at that time I wanted to make events. I wanted to make things for the players to enjoy, I wanted to create something for someone to enjoy. I wanted the permissions to make it, to do what I wanted to do. I wanted to be able to use command blocks for dungeons, I wanted to be able to make things freely for players to enjoy.
I didn't do a very good job, haha. Sorry Lima.
As time progressed I gained an ambition. I was doing events - I did quite a few. I made a cool field of ice in athera! It was nice to have things like that to my name. It wasn't long however before Native left us and I began to thinking about what a developer at that time was. I thought about it a lot and I had gotten it into my head; "It would be nice to be the lead developer. Just able to forge a team of players eager to create content would be amazing."
Time went by and the administration stated they weren't going to fill the role of Lead Developer. I was somewhat crushed, my dream felt ruined. My ambition felt wasted, and I fell into somewhat desolation and stagnation. I eventually picked my feet up and started several projects, impossible goals really.
As time passed I stuck around however, although I earned a fair bit of animosity for my heavy-handed moderation tactics and a few enemies indeed due to my approach to things. It's been a rough ride, but eventually after school calmed down (Programming major!) I decided to take a turn to look at java and specifically Spigot/Bukkit. I began talks with Kowaman, wrote an entry plugin, and got accepted as a junior developer (The first GM who became a coder! That's to my name.)
And here I am today, wondering how the hell my dream of Lead Developer managed to wrap around and find me. Certainly unexpected and absolutely scary. I'm still new to this all, but I've been a quick learner so far and I hope that you'll bear with me as I take up the helm here, so to speak, of the development team.
Kowaman has left us. He's been a tremendous help to me, and I hope we'll still be talking into the long future, as close friends. He's a silly guy, and it's sad for me to tell him goodbye. I wish him the best of luck with college and his future, and I hope that he'll make the most of his future.
The future is somewhat dark but the show must go on. Don't fret about the health of the server or plugins - I and Tythus are more than capable of keeping new content coming to you and bringing to the table clean and efficient plugins to make your day-to-day life easier on the Lord of the Craft.
In the coming weeks I'll be looking for new additions to the Development Team at entry level (Coders). We accept anyone willing to learn and already has some form of basic grasp on Java and are eager to learn Spigot/Bukkit. If this interests you, send me a PM!
I look forward to working with you all.
