  2. This is Forum Moderators responsibilities, as the Web Team cannot moderate or change any content, we can only work with functionality and appearance :( Whether or not they are actually doing this, and if Forum Moderators even exist is still an open ended question..
  3. Currently working on optional ranked choice voting polls.

Give me some other features to the Forums that you would like to see implemented. I will pull 1 suggestion from a hat and implement that in the next web update.

  4. @Werew0lfI appreciate you engaging with me on this, genuinely. At the end of the day we’re all here because we enjoy the server and the stories. You clearly care about what you’re doing and that’s a good thing. I just think tone matters more than we sometimes realize (especially when a lot of people are watching.) But disagreement doesn’t have to turn into resentment. No hard feelings from me. I’d rather see good RP rather than endless forum backandforth. That’s all.
  5. It actually is that simple. If your stance is “I’ll mirror ego with ego,” then that’s your choice. I’m not trying to control how you act. But mirroring the lowest energy in the room while holding the highest influence in it is still a decision. That’s all I’ve been pointing out. This isn’t about “constructing hierarchies.” The hierarchy already exists. Realm leader. Staff. Long-time figure. Influence is real whether you acknowledge it or not. Treat people how you want to be treated works both ways. If you normalize dunking as the response to criticism, don’t be surprised when that becomes the standard everywhere. You don’t think it’s deep. I think tone at the top always trickles down. We just disagree.
  6. I’m sure it is funny from your position. When you’re established, respected, leading a major realm and surrounded by people who enjoy your roleplaying style, it’s easy for this kind of thing to feel harmless. But that’s exactly why I’m talking about responsibility. When you’re at the top of the "social ladder" here, interactions don’t land the same way as they would from “new player #521.” The dynamic isn’t equal, even if you pretend it is. It’s not about whether you personally find it funny. It’s about whether the most influential person in the room should default to dunking on criticism instead of engaging it or ignoring it. That’s all.
  7. And this is exactly what I was talking about. A comment about leadership standards gets met with deflection, mockery, and “don’t get too upset.” Not engagement. Not disagreement. Just dismissal. No one is melting down here. The point wasn’t emotional. It was about responsibility. If the response to “maybe hold yourself to the server guidelines” is to turn it into a bit/joke, that kind of proves the concern without me needing to add anything else. You don’t have to agree with criticism. But pretending it’s all just people being mad doesn’t really address it either. At some point it stops being funny and just becomes predictable.
  8. eyy lmao so funny i got trolled haha
  9. I don’t really understand this “it’s just Minecraft, stop caring” argument. Yes, it’s a Minecraft roleplay server. That doesn’t suddenly remove standards of conduct. The Community Guidelines weren’t written for real-life governments. They were written for this exact space. And yes, no one is required to play here. That applies both ways. No one is required to lead the largest realm either. The reason expectations are higher isn’t because “staff = robot.” It’s because influence matters. When you are staff, a realm leader and one of the most established figures on the server, your tone carries weight. Whether you want it to or not. Personally I don't know who Wolfy-D is, but when I see Werew0lf being staff, realm leader and the most reputable person EVER on the forums respond with "shut up", then that pisses me off a little bit. Because as much as I don't really care about the details of the drama, the way that people act (especially someone as influential as Werew0lf) reflects on the overall community as a whole.
  10. I don’t think this is a “staff vs player” issue. I fully agree that being staff is exhausting. It’s volunteer work, you get yelled at, baited, insulted, and expected to absorb it calmly. I don’t think anyone reasonable denies that. But that’s not really what this is about. In this case, he wasn’t acting as staff. He was acting as a realm leader. And that’s a different kind of visibility. You don’t have staff authority in that moment, but you have influence, which I would argue means a whole lot more. When you lead a major realm/nation, people attach weight to what you say whether you want them to or not. So I don’t think the expectation here is “be staff professional 24/7.” It’s just if you’re going to hold a leadership role, act like it OOC too. No one’s saying it was evil. Just that trolling as a declared policy isn’t exactly leadership energy. You can run an empire while also not treating OOC like a Call of Duty lobby...
  11. If your response to criticism is “I’m going to troll,” that’s your choice. But as a nation leader, your OOC conduct sets the tone whether you like it or not. If you can’t separate personal frustration from how you represent your nation, that’s a problem. Leadership means holding yourself to a higher standard (in this case just being the normal standard in the community guidelines), and not matching the lowest one. It sucks sometimes, but it is what it is.
  12. I agree with most of the replies here. If you throw serious OOC accusations like calling someone manipulative or saying they’re ruining the server, you can’t be surprised when the response is what it is, especially on discord. That’s just how it goes. But at the same time, @Werew0lf being a nation leader isn’t a neutral position. Fair or not, you represent more than yourself. The guidelines set a tone/standard, and you can't even follow that. Responding to criticism with trolling might feel good in the moment, but it doesn’t reflect that standard. You don’t have to agree. You don’t even have to be nice. But you don’t have to act like the antithesis of the community guidelines either. I don't care if you have the best RP in the universe, but if you can't even follow the simple guidelines and act above it as a nation leader, then don't be a nation leader duh. For the werew0lf fanboys, just know that for better or for worse, he represents the outward look of the server for new players. So prolly shouldn't be acting like a **** to a relatively new player on the forums. (This is written without knowing any context and just reading the post and comments, my mind could be changed) PS: This is not an endorsement of Wolfy-d. Go get a cup of tea and chill out, life is bigger than this.

  18. Hey, thanks for the in depth feedback. I agree with every single point here. I just wanted to comment here for some clarity, as sometimes things could use a little transparency. 1. Forum Roleplay Category Misuse - The forum categories and the moderation of forum categories should ultimately be handled by the Moderation team, however whether or not the moderation team is aware that this is the case, I cannot speculate. I already proposed the re-introduction of a forum moderation team, but alas the previous experiences with this has not gone well. 2. New Topics Feed Issues - omg 100%. The ultimate problem here is that we are VERY limited in what we can do on the web team with invision community (I have access to themes, that's it), so the widget layout/pages layout/application forms (and everything else) is Admin area. This means that we need to contact an admin if we want to change this, and by admin I mean Daisy, and only Daisy, as the other admins don't want to be "blamed" for any fuckups if we guide them through what to click... 3. Archival Problems - Yes, I actually implemented a fix for this a little while ago, but maybe it didn't get the attention that it needed, or perhaps something went wrong in the "CRON" job when we archived most the of the posts on the forum. In the search feature there should be a checkbox that looks like this: Which allows you to search through archived content. 4. Dynamic Map - The Dynmap is problematic, because only Daisy has access to this part of the forums. And it appears that this is far down on her priority list. 5. Unused Features - If you knew how much I have pitched these ideas to the different teams you would laugh. The problem is that if we were to implement things like blogs or clubs it would change the already existing way that the different staff teams are operating their tasks as staff. Which when pitched, the answer I get back is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" type stuff. But yes, if I had full reigns over the things I could do, then I would add a lot of new improvements to the Forums/Website. Last thing I would like to say is that, the web team and the tech teams working with the website, HATE invision community and we are slowly attempting to move away from invision community as the backend architecture. This is also why we are reluctant to "fix" a lot of the glaring issues on the website (because why fix it, if it will be replaced at some point anyway). This ultimately stagnates any progress that can be done. I am motivated to continue to push small changes here and there, and my last change with the new editor functionality has been received well. I hope that I can continue to make these small improvements, but it is going to take some time for the major improvements to happen :) PS: I am not meaning to say that your feedback will not be worked on, it absolutely will. I just thought that a little peak behind the curtain/transparency might be nice, just because there are definitely people still passionate about the improvement of the website, we are just very limited in scope. Also I would like to point out that these things do not fall on Daisy's shoulder, it was done this way on purpose as the server has been burned in the past by letting people have too much "power" to change things on a whim.

Gradients! Fonts! I rebuilt text styling tools. The old color picker and font tools felt outdated. Now you get a color text picker with an eyedropper, true per-character gradients, and a practical font browser. I also added responsive tables that stop hard-coded widths from breaking layouts. Oh and @Daisy updated the total upload file size to 50mb. Below is a simple live preview for each new feature. (Slight Catch, you have to click twice on the button the first time you open the editor, to load the functionality. That is the way Invision Community is unfortunately, hopefully can fix in the future) Text Colour The new color picker focuses on speed. You get a palette, a recents row, an eyedropper that can sample any on-screen color, and typed hex input. It writes simple inline color. It also clears color, and it only changes your highlighted text. Try it This text changes color. RedOrangeCyanIndigoPurple Gradient Colour Gradient text has been a long standing need. Before, people colored each letter by hand. Now you choose stops, use presets, reverse, randomize, and apply per-character color in one click. It avoids breaking markup, and clearing restores plain text. It can also skips whitespace for clean results. You can choose between 2-5 stops in your gradient text! Try it This text gets a gradient. WarmAquaVioletCoralLime Font Picker Fonts are organized by family. You can search, and apply either inline font-family. Clearing removes only font styling and unwraps empty spans. Currently the preview is not working on all devices, this is because of the way the editor is handling fonts, I am looking for a fix. These are all the new fonts added in this update: ArialAa Bb 123 InterAa Bb 123 PoppinsAa Bb 123 Open SansAa Bb 123 VerdanaAa Bb 123 TahomaAa Bb 123 Trebuchet MSAa Bb 123 Lucida SansAa Bb 123 Century GothicAa Bb 123 GeorgiaAa Bb 123 Times New RomanAa Bb 123 GaramondAa Bb 123 PalatinoAa Bb 123 MerriweatherAa Bb 123 ImpactAa Bb 123 CopperplateAa Bb 123 Comic Sans MSAa Bb 123 Brush Script MTAa Bb 123 PapyrusAa Bb 123 MonospaceAa Bb 123 Courier NewAa Bb 123 Lucida ConsoleAa Bb 123 Try it This text changes font. InterPoppinsGeorgiaTimes New RomanMonospace Responsive Tables Tables now ignore fixed widths from pasted content from google docs or word. The plugin strips width/height on tables, rows, and cells, removes <colgroup>, and forces fluid layout with table-layout: fixed. On small screens, long rows stay readable with horizontal scroll, instead of blowing up the page. This means that table formatting should no longer break on mobile devices or narrow windows. Updated Upload Limit to 50mb Yes, you can now upload up to 50mb files and images in your posts! Huge. Note: This page is a minimal live preview. The actual plugins run inside the Editor. Cheers, - xDK
  21. Over the past few days, many of you may have noticed that images copied from Google Docs no longer show up correctly when pasted into the forums. Instead of embedding, they now break and ask to be uploaded.

This is not a change on our forums. It looks like Google quietly updated how their image links work, which prevents hotlinking (loading images from Google’s servers into external sites). In the past, Google Docs generated temporary but usable image links that the forum could display. As of now, those links either expire or are blocked, which means images copied directly from Docs will no longer embed here.

    What still works

    • Text from Google Docs - You can still copy/paste plain text and most formatting.

    • Direct image links - If you host images on a service like Imgur, Dropbox, Postimages, or your own host, you can still embed images.

    • Notion - Copying from Notion works for embedding images, though some advanced text formatting may not carry over perfectly.

    What doesn’t work

    • Copying images straight from Google Docs - Google is blocking those embeds, so they won’t display here anymore.

I will try to fix this when I have a better overview of the problem, but if it's an update from Google, I don't expect it to be overturned anytime soon. But there might be ways around this, will keep you posted :)
