As long as you don't tread to much on already established characters you could start anywhere.

@ek: There are so many wood elves due to a lack of lore that doing almost anything other than the lore already made would probably mess up quite a few characters..

I am attempting to write some unifying lore for Wood Elves that would still allow such freedoms as you point out, Aiden. I am open to any suggestions from anyone as well.
