  1. Indorill Basileus notices one of the posters and raises a brow, a soft smirk spreading it's way across his bearded face as he says near several strelts. "Ahh...Sure would be ah' shame if someun' brought up tha' fact tha Basileus are related te the Ironguts an tha Taurus family...But, I reckon I can't see why anyone would de that..."
  2. Malineer lifted his head from his notes, softly tapping at the quill with his index fingers. "I should drive a noble house to extinction...That'd be fun." he thinks to himself, before jotting the idea down on a slip of blank paper.
  3. Well you see, several groups have had this problem in the past, my own gypsies got raided by the dwarves and instead of taking the mature way about it back in Elysium, I complained just like you do. I got disheartened and stopped caring about my group and left the idea to rot. However it was the beginning of Anthos when I talked to those players again to discover they don't actually hate the group, they did what they did because it is what their characters would do. The reason the Adunians have it so hard IC is because everyone remembers their 5+ rebellions, oath breaking, complaining and general underhandedness ICly. OOCly you aren't doing them much of a favor by sitting here and crying about how everyone is mean to your people ICly. Despite the fact it is an IC circumstance and the more you get angry about it, the more people are going to resort to PVP to be rid of you and carry on with their experience on LoTC. No one wants to deal with these negative, hateful attitudes on a game they bought to have fun on.
  4. That's your own problem them, Han. I greatly prefer RP default and Dislike PVP to some extent, but the flay will actually roleplay with you. Your problem is you make everyone who PVP's their combat out to be some sort of game-breaking A-hole who stands for everything bad in the world. Maybe if you stopped complaining about why PVP is bad and realized how it is a necessary evil then maybe you would understand their point of view. They are people too and the way to work out how to fix this 'rift' is not simply complaining about their method but understanding it and attempting actual communication over whining and feedback threads. Have you ever simply stopped during a raid and said in IC or OOC: "Hey don't kill me I'll give you my stuff considering you outnumber us 9 to 1" Edit: And if you're having problems roleplaying it's because you've ruined yoru chances OOCly by being unreasonable and smack-talking them ooc as much as you do, and as much as I've heard you do. Who the heck wants to roleplay with someone who has done nothing but speak ill of them and ignore their side of the story?
  5. *Malineer sighs as he looks upon the ill-written scribble, the high elf reaching up to gently rub at his forehead, murmuring softly to himself. "I swear I've seen Ruskans write in unbroken common before, is it only the nobles.." following this, he reaches up, tearing down the paper and folding it, putting it into his coat for later business*

That would imply the adunians became anything significant. :)

  7. Malineer overhears the news in the tavern, his brow raising a moment before he breaks out in a soft chuckle. "One less idiotic would-be alchemist to put down."
  8. Katsuro stares down into a cup of tea held firmly within his wrinkled palm, the world-weary eastern elf listened to his grandson's declaration of war with a stoic, almost depressive expression. Upon the succession of the speech the wrinkled eastern elf took a long sip of his beverage then set it aside. "Dearest Shas, you stand to unite our people with western elves in the fires of conflict. I can only hope that this is the right decision, these old bones have endured centuries of war's fire. And perhaps at the end of this conflict we might find a home for our people, and my spirit might rest easy knowing that the clans will survive." following his short speech Katsuro would stand and utter: "You have my blessing, Shas." before departing to join the other warriors on the boat.

  10. My finger slipped for 736 words.
  11. It was over in an instant, there was no bright light at the end of the tunnel, my life didn't pass before my eyes and really I prefered that it didn't. There was only the screech of tires skidding against asphalt and the loud moan of crumpling metal then my vision went black for a moment and I found myself standing beside the car, my mother staring wide eyed while being pulled from the wreckage by a rescue worker, fresh blood decorating the front of her surgical scrubs, though there hadn’t been any when she picked me up earlier. I was confused at first I thought I had blacked out; but what caught my attention was the rain hitting the street around me, drenching the workers and EMTs who were working to alleviate the other driver. Though I could see it, I couldn’t hear it or feel it against my skin, I was completely dry and so were my clothes. I couldn’t comprehend what had happened at first, until I saw one of the workers by our car shake his head and look to the nearby Ambulance drivers, mouthing the words: “He’s gone.” It was then I saw my mother tense, and I began to notice the eerie silence again, it brought a ringing to my ears and it kept growing louder and louder, until I was gritting my teeth and wishing it would stop. Just as I went to cover my ears the silence was broken by a gruff baritone voice coming from behind. “Pardon my tardiness, It’s been a busy day.” the voice called out, I turned quickly to find a scrawny blonde man in a black suit and tie, though his dress shirt was green. He was almost as pale as his hair, but what stood out were his eyes, they were a bright lime green that pierced right into you, I remember them making me fidget in place. Before I could open my mouth to respond he had already answered my question. “Yes, I do.” he retorted to my thoughts quickly, as if he had known I was going to ask what was happening. I opened my mouth to speak again, only to be cut off with the answer to my question yet again. “Yes, You’re dead Gregory. And I’ve come to present you with the most important opportunity you’ve ever had.” I can’t quite recall the rest of the explanation, I stopped listening after that point. I looked around the scene again watching everything unfold. There was disbelief, shock, anger. I couldn’t pinpoint what I thought at that moment but I noticed across the street by the other car there was a little girl, dressed in bright colors and sobbing into the shoulder of a tall, crimson haired man who appeared to be comforting her. It was then I saw the workers pull a small, pale and limp body from the car beside them, dressed just as she was. I felt uneasy then, depressed, and it felt as though I was going to cry before the man’s voice penetrated my ears and I was focused on him again. “Pay attention now.” He stated coolly, snapping his fingers to assure he had my attention and he did. “Now, You can come with me and we’ll settle you into your new dwellings, or you can stay and we’ll get you back into the system. So what will it be?” I shook my head for a moment, I couldn’t register what he meant but I didn’t like the sound of ‘new dwellings.” So I only replied with: “I’ll stay.” Immediately he reached into his coat with a sigh and drew out small black book with a pen hooked to it’s cover and began to look over it, flipping to the first page. “Always the persistent one, and good timing, looks like there is an opening in Yorkshire, whitby. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the United Kingdom, from what I hear they have safer drivers than america.” He grinned at me and shut the book, and gave a slight wave, before long I felt everything grow warm around me and everything went black again. It wasn’t too long before I saw a blinding light in my vision that began to grow larger until it engulfed me. The last thing I remember as my thoughts faded and I began to squirm were the words: “It’s a girl.”
  12. Majora would lean over, softly slapping Tassel in the back of the head with his journal, whispering angrily. "Would you be quiet?! Stop teasing, this is a war council."
  13. "Adorellan!" Majora would shout, stamping upward. "You will not wage a war for no reason, they have met the demands of our claim! Furthermore! Your own son has forgiven them and let them go, he is protesting against the war. He recognizes that the best allies are those you must make peace with, with this war you will lose the respect of the lavada house, and I will protest against it, I may go so far as to have Baydel's marriage annulled. So you may choose, the reputation of your house and the happiness of your sons, or petty vengeance."
  14. The youngest of the Lavada men stand, his expression emotionless, a young blonde woman shyly standing with him, but scooting to the cover of his body. "While we accept your apology, and care no more for war, this incident shall not be forgotten, nor will it be forgiven. We will not seek to punish you for your transgressions, however."
  15. "I'm afraid I cannot, my son pushes for his removal, the boy has physically battered my heir's wife and threatened a Horen prince, along with my close brother. Along with claiming he has rightful rule, my powers of forgiveness have their limit and he has reaches them, I do not wish him dead, but exiled...I want him to drop his claim and attitude and formally apologize to my son's wife."
  16. Majora lifts her head, motioning to Adorellan. "The male of whom you speak beat a mcharyn, the wife of my son Falias in the street claiming she was a racist. Adorellan was there to stop the attack, but yes, he has done wrong. He did so knowingly as well, and came into Oren court, brandishing his blade and threatening my brother, Bayde and my grandson, Alexander. He knows very well what he has done and is pulling the wool over your eyes."
  17. The Holm Council. Those in attendance for the meeting are: Majora Lavada, Caln Mcharnish, Adorellean Kamura, Caoimeh Ipos, King William Horen, Starke Mcharyn, Aramis Lyon, Tzadick Light bringer, Elros Leydon and the Lavada Children. The meeting takes place within the halls of Furnestock keep at the Kamura dining hall, William and the other Orenians sat on one end of the table, Caln and his men on the other. A ginger woman in a muted blue gown adorned with gold trim approaches the table with a large tome in hand, sending it slamming down upon the table with a heavy 'thunk' and flipping it open to a page marked with a blue velvet ribbon. Afterwards she would reach back, grasping a shabby brown journal from Adorellan and setting it beside the tome. "This is the official history of Holm." she would say, setting her left hand atop the larger of the books. "Recorded from the founding of the kingdom by Tassel, after it was sold to him by Hiebe Irongut, to it's collapse under the rule of Cethis." Majora would then set her hand upon the smaller book, speaking up with a slightly more mournful tone. "This is the journal of my husband, King Tassel Lavada..." "These books contain reason after reason of why the claim to Holm's crown should be withdrawn, reveal the deception of the Vincrute Bastards and hopfully convince you to have the name of your lands changed. I will present only the most pressing evidence, along with Izier's former wife, Caoimeh." Majora pauses for a breath, then continues her speech. "Syrila, Tassel's first wife plotted with Izier and poisoned Tassel, evidence of which can be found in his journal. She was unfaithful, uncaring, abusive and conniving, she committed adulteries on more than one occasion and as Tassel was preparing to annul their marriage she poisoned him and declared herself reagent during his sickness. During which time she gave the crown to Izier Vincrute, who brought in his men and occupied the nation. By definition, a rebellion. I'll allow Caoimeh to continue from here." Majora steps back, a plump, auburn haired adunian woman in a dull green dress taking her place at the front of the table, speaking with a thick Hansettian accent "Izier vas a terrible und cruel man, even more conniving zhan zhe voman before 'im. He pursued me endlessly against mine vishes, going zo var as to attempt to confine me. Zhis man vould litterally, chase me. Coming after me on 'orse und voot until I vas too vorn to pull away. He told me lies in my exhaustion, convincing me zhat mine vamily vas to turn against me... At virst I did not believe zhem. But as 'e grew more agressive in 'is pursuit, darker in 'is vords.. 'e turned to threaten me. Vunce again, I refuzed 'im." She pauses, chin tucking a moment as she shudders. Drawing a slow breath, her head lifts, eyes steely and cold as her voice straightens and becomes monotonic. "He turned to threaten zhose close to me. Mine firstborn child, mine friends, mine family. I vas made to believe as 'e vhispered zhis to me, I conceded after much time.. I became 'is vife. Vhen I vas kept as 'is voman, I saw many terrible actions done by 'is 'and. Murder of innocents in name of a dark God, a copious amount of drugs, adultery vith zhe castle servants. Even zho var as to go to zodomy, vhich I 'ad ze pain to vitness in mine movements along ze castle grounds many a time." Once again she pauses, a worn expression passing over her as she glances to Majora, fingers tightly twisting together before her gaze turns back to the council, quickly hardening. "Vhen I finally came to realize zhat no redemption vhas there for 'im. No chance of any light zurviving in 'is 'eart. I faked mine death. I knew zhe only vhat to escape this monster in mortal flesh vhas to make 'im zhink vithout a doubt.. vhas to leave mine on blood, bits of flesh, und 'iar to prove it to 'im. Und only now, under zhe protection of zhose around me, can I rize and tell chu zhat I bore zhat man NO child. Und i 'ave vound, zhat even our very marriage, it vas a -LIE-. A valse dance of a ceremony, a play to trick all of us. Zhat man, und 'is bastards, 'ave no claim to this kingdoms name." Majora steps in again, speaking up as Caoimeh would sit back down, her expression softening. "You have been tricked, the 'Vincrute' children have lied to you, they are the bastard descendants of a rebel with no legitimate spawn to his name...Now, the queen of those Rebels, and the Wife of the true king ask you, plead of you to abandon association with Holm, to let the stained title and the crown rest with the Horen Family, so that the burden of such a bloodstained and filthy nation might not take the lives of more innocents." With that final statement, the ginger elf returns to her seat, leaving the books for inspection.
  18. ((That's fine, Majora is expressing her anger and revealing the warclaim and intimidation to get the attention she needs for the meeting, setting up IC events with IC, ya see. ))
  19. Why are people trying to make Holm a thing again? We have enough nations, and speaking from experience with the nation. It needs to stay dead.
