Let's recap. There are 3.5 reports on PVP issues. (One is half RP, half PVP) There are 3.5 reports on RP issues. It isn't RP or PVP that causes arguments- it is immaturity. To Freya- I said that knowing it will never happen. Therefore, I do not vote for PVP default.

I can't say I approve that you just bailed out of a discussion, but whatever. I am not saying I can't be good without PvP. I am just saying that PvP puts me at a disadvantage. Simple as that. I am not looking for things to complain about, I found them when I saw that PvP was default. In fact, I am not even demanding to be as successful as Mogroka! I am not even demanding to be close to him! I am just voicing my opinion against PvP being forced on me. In fact, let PvP be default! It's fine! As long as I don't get reported for refusing to do it. I want to RP fight without being forced to do something that I don't want to.

Mogroka didn't do that himself. I can try. In fact, I might win sometimes. But for every victory, I would get killed 20 times over. Just because Mogroka was able to accomplish something regardless of his internet doesn't mean anyone can or should. I should NOT be expected to Rambo through bad connetion just because Mogroka did. Everybody should be given an equal chance right off the bat. And before you declare me a hypocrite because I told James I managed to get good at RP fighting- he can get good at emoting without losing anything. He can go on the forums and read guides. I would need to lose over and over just to get one meaningless victory that would probably lead to another defeat.

I never said I was poor. I never knew there was a site that could test this out. I see I need to download something, and I am immediately not interested. Also, it isn't just connection. When running and hitting things alone I have 12-15 FPS. I constantly freeze. Also, why would I lie if I had good conditions to PvP? There is just no point to it. In fact, if I had good conditions, I would vote PvP, because I wouldn't have a good grip on how unfair it is to people such as myself. To Sorsby- I saw your edit. It was trivializing and rude. If anything you should have been quiet about it. I am very civil, wouldn't you agree? Please, be that way yourself.

I do not want to win every time. In fact, I usually give the upper hand to the upper party because I am careful and afraid of powergaming. I don't want to win every time. I want to stand a chance. To James- I remember saying- not a confirmation, but an instance where the playerbase together made it happen. Also, you said you cannot cram every word of your thesaurus into an emote, etc. You can learn how to do that for free. I did it. By staying on the server and learning since the day I joined. Also, following the guides on this very forum can help. The disadvantage that PvP gives me requires money to fix.

Here is my reasonable counter-argument. No default PvP because it gives advantage to players in a better financial situation, concerning their hardware and connection. To reply to your edit- When I bought this computer, it was good enough. Also, if you don't care at all about people who CANNOT afford something- you lack proper empathy a decent human should have. You can still PvP. Just don't force it on me, because I know I will lose, and not because of RP reasons, but because of connection/computer issues that shouldn't come close to influencing RP. At least, not in a negative way.

And to Sorsby- this change is happening spontaneously due to the staff's sudden decision to change the rules. Not a gradual process by the players. I have been victim to this simple fact before. To James- Because changing from PvP to RP doesn't put you at a disadvantage. Any player that is good at PvP owes it to skill and his computer. You can win in both PvP AND RP if you have a good computer and if you have skills. I cannot, due to my bad connection and computer.

No, it is fact that there was no event such as this one that replaced default PvP with RP. (Unless I missed something, which I highly doubt) The fact that the playerbase replaced PvP with RP slowly and without a major pole would show that there was a desire to move on, to improve. If anyone would like to disprove this, just link me to the pole that took place after we left Aegis that replaced default PvP with RP.

I don't remember a distinct /event/ where PvP was switched to RP. It was a process, I believe. You could almost call it... evolution.

Check when I joined. Late Aegis, but Aegis. I do not reject PvP because I don't like change. It is because it favors people with better computers, aka a better financial situation. You are talking about bringing back Aegis-like systems in one sentence and then saying we should change in the other. If /you/ aren't afraid of change, let Aegis go. We are in Anthos now.

It will be unimaginably hard to change back if your decision is wrong. I do respect your choice, but still.

Again, to all the people saying that RP fights lead to arguments- changing the rules caused this argument, that is much larger than any RP one. I don't know where you people find the massive amounts of ban reports or OOC arguments. Sure, sometimes it can be frustrating, but PvP can be as well. Also, I just remembered something. There are instances in which one party has a longer range than the other when hitting. This usually depends on the place where the server is being hosted. PvP largely depends on OOC factors (THAT ARE NOT FREE) such as connection and hardware, while RP fights, as somebody stated earlier sometimes include two parties with varying knowledge on weaponry and techniques. (KNOWLEDGE IS FREE) Sure, there is no winning or losing in LOTC, but we have just come one step closer to becoming, for lack of a better word- a pay to win. Not necessarily pay the server, but hardware stores and internet providers. To the person that said that PvP would give us more time for RP- RP fighting is RP as well. In fact, I sometimes enjoy it more than RPing eating or just talking to someone. It is subjective. Every part of the server (other than trivial things such as placing things or flicking levers) should be RP. Including fights.

I proved my computer problems are a problem, and you were there. I constantly freeze and get hit while I am unable do fight back. People sometimes look like they teleport. I do have problems. And nobody is going to write it down, please don't trivialize my argument, but it will put me at a disadvantage. (If you remember, I was killed by a guy with a wooden sword in a couple of seconds. I only managed to get one hit on him, before I froze and was demolished.)

I know it isn't stopping me from requesting an RP fight, it just means: PvP+RP= PvP. That means anybody can take advantage of my computer issues and beat me in a fight even though I may have an advantage, logically speaking. I will be reported for avoiding a fight when I refuse to PvP. Again, PvP isn't a viable option for me because of my computer issues. I will be taken advantage of, and the server will be on the side of the PvP-er.

Because spamming a button is more RP than actually RPing. I am not close minded. Due to my financial situation, I am unable to get good hardware, and I lose in PvP because of it. And if clicking away with a sword is more interesting to you than actually RPing, I am astonished.

To all the people saying RP shouldn't be default because of the arguments- If I get killed, even once, in PvP, because of my computer issues, I will argue. And I don't doubt a lot of other people will. Anyone that can log into the server can RP fight, regardless of FPS. Not everyone can successfully PvP, because of their hardware. In situations where I should logically win, I will lose. LoTC has done a horrible thing.

From experience, I've found most of these plugins restrictive. I remember searching for a blacksmith just so I could get a simple sword or a piece of armor. Sure, it is realistic and in ways it does enhance roleplay, but it gets tedious after a while. If the classes added perks but didn't stop players from doing most things on their own, I would like to see such a plugin be implemented, but without too many classes. My main concern is wasting time via grinding and searching for people instead of roleplaying. I am sure I don't speak only for myself when I say that the state of RP on the server is just fine without the professions.
