Contact Zarsies. I was very upset seeing him flying around dropping harmful potions on Orenian forces. I do not mind their inclusion in skirmishes so much either. This. That's fine, but can they do that only in skirmishes instead of about 4/5 conflicts I have been involved in? People become upset OOC when something that matters to them OOC is interrupted by something IC. And unfortunately, these battles are run and organized OOC, and if people didn't have an OOC drive to win they wouldn't put all the time and effort into them. When something like Harbingers show up and make it less fair than we had been working on making it, it is detrimental to the entire mentality towards the roleplay conflict.

Lorethos holds Grand King Wulfgar's battleaxe in his lap, turning it over in his hand and wondering if he should have it melted down into a phallic shape and sent it back to him. He decides against it. Suddenly, he hears a knock at the door. "Come in," He calls, his serving maiden Maren entering and offering him a letter. He takes it, dismissing her, and reads a copy of the Grand King's propaganda. "What an absolute idiot. The Scourge is an enemy to all of us. I once thought that perhaps the Grand King was deserving to keep his throne after he surrendered, but he is convincing me otherwise."

I am actually not in at least one case; Zarsies was flying around outside of a dwarven fort throwing potions down on Orenian forces. And yes, the antag plugin, my mistake. I actually completely agree, but from what I've seen it seems that those using these abilities can not be trusted to be completely unbiased in their use at least in the case of single engagements; though it is obvious the antagonists are the enemies of all mortal races, I have seen them essentially 'take sides' in certain battles. While I would never presume that any member of the event team is purposefully promoting the success of another race for OOC reasons, I simply can't see why a Harbinger would want one side to win moreso than they would like the other. Edit: The involvement of the Event Team in player-based events is counter-productive. Conflict creates roleplay. If you have ever studied the structure of a narrative, you know this. The Event Team exists to create conflict where it does not exist, not complicate conflict where it does.

I humbly request that any sort of magical plugins or use of 'fly' be barred when in battles or raids between nations unless they occur at such a time that it is unavoidable. In several battles, Harbingers, or GM's using other such powers, have entered combat and upset many on both sides by breaking the sense of fairness that the battle should have. I hope this is not ignorant or uniformed. I will be vehemently persisting with this if I continue to see it, as no one wants their battle to be interrupted by such things.

Lorethos rubs under his scarred eye, holding Alexander Bedell's gift to him in his hands; Grand King Wulfgar's warax. "They just won't admit that we won no matter what it takes..." He shrugs, resting the ax on his desk. "No matter, they will have difficulty writing lies when their hands are chopped off."

The Sea Returns An Iron Crow
HappyShackles replied to Esterlen's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
Lorethos leans back in his study, examining a map of the Fringe on the table before him. He stands, walking around the table slowly, dwarven, orcish, elven, and orenian assets marked by small figurines. He reaches over, moving several infantry units northward only slightly, knocking over a dwarven and an orcish figurine. "Mm. At a price, though." He removes one of the three Orenian infantry units he has moved, setting them on the side of the table, staring at the theater of war. Suddenly, he hears footsteps behind him. He stands and turns, seeing his serving girl Maren offering him a letter. "From Uncle Sigi, my lord." Lorethos nods and takes the letter from her, looking it over. He turns back, seeing Tance in the doorway, Maren's eccentric uncle. He nods to Tance and then to Maren, turning back, letting them both leave and waiting to hear the door close before opening the letter. He sits down at the table once again and grin. He moves his hand over to a figurine of the Rex of the Warnation, knocking it over with his finger. He moves his other hand to a figurine of the dwarven Grand King, swiping him off the table. He stands and takes the figure of the King of Oren, and places him on top of Urguan. "The game has changed, gentlemen..." -
I never thought I'd agree with you on anything. But very well said, everything stated here I support 100%

This is a joke. Chikea I don't know you and I'm sure you're nice, and I have nothing personal against you. That being said, you have proven to me to be a failure at your current position by the very virtue that you are willing to make a post like this in order to get a group of people who are largely misinformed or biased themselves towards the situation. Personal bias is fine. I, for example, personally, would like to see you banned for your mistreatment of your position. That being said, many disagree with that sentiment. I hope you do not see any of your critics as your enemy. Attempt to take out advice to heart if you can, even if is presented abrasively, it has value. Thanks.

Regarding The Zionist War
HappyShackles replied to HappyShackles's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
I am not 'going after' anyone, my friend. In fact I'm attempting to negate that entire way of thinking; I'm asking no one to 'go for' anyone. If someone no-RP kills you, talk to them about it. If both sides are not following the rules with raiding parties over eight, and someone has an issue, discussing it thoroughly would cause much less toxicity than posting a ban report; the nature of ban reports to be the creation of grudges, disdain, and general hostility. -
Regarding the Zionist War and Recent Ban Reports It is my belief that the OOC hostilities have gone far out of hand with regard to this war. It has begun to result in a great deal of unnecessary accusations and repercussions on both sides. The fact of the matter is that neither side followed any raid rules whatsoever for several days. Any ban reports regarding the violation of raid rules, on both sides, appear to me as a method by which to exercise dominance OOCly over an IC foe, and attempt to damage the opposition. Some people who consider themselves part of the Oren faction are indeed rude and disrespectful; they break rules such as griefing and so on. However, all sides are going to have people who want to have a respectful IC conflict and I believe that it is possible to achieve this. Therefore, while I would like all ban reports on those who violated rules that we believed were not in effect to be removed, I will simply humbly ask as your fellow server member this; Please don't post any more. Bans are not how wars should be fought. Once one ban report goes flying, more come, as you've seen, and nobody wins. I'm sorry about the frustration this war has caused everyone on both sides, but IC decisions have IC consequences and we have to handle the In Character. I respect Zezimus and Erik and Mirtok and Dokahn and I have lots of friends involved in other nations. I have nothing against them or any of their 'men'. I hope that I can help offer a more friendly tone and that my fellow Orenians can do the same. Anyone who agrees with me please say so and explain any other reasoning I may have missed. Those who believe differently I would like to hear your side of the story, or your opinion regarding the war in general. Thank you guys very much, I appreciate the time and I hope this works out.

The First Royal Duma.
HappyShackles replied to Knox213's topic in Thales and the Fringe Roleplay Archive
My King It is my personal belief that getting this done could potentially take over half a month, considering how busy the King is and how difficult it is to line up schedules for many of us. I think rapidity and pro-activeness by leadership creates an a powerful ((active)) nation, and completeing this in a timely manner is important. 1) I suggest Heinrik appoints one or two who may perform these meetings on their own, and bring the outcome back to Heinrik. 2) I suggest that all nobles post the points that they develop on this board ((thread)) so that everyone can keep up to date on what everyone needs or would like to discuss at the moment, as well as giving the King a basic overview of the noblemen's requests. -
