  1. *Gurnthing sends a scribbled note to the seller* "Wha's yer price fer a cattle er few?"
  2. I do not believe simpler is better. Vanilla minecraft DOES NOT work by itself for a RP server. I could hop into any vanilla minecraft game and have full iron and some diamonds in 20 minutes. And no, players cannot be trusted to regulate themselves. The ones who restrict their character so that they can RP with others are just harmed by those who don't care, removing much of the RP. While you don't need to force every need or desire into an RP scenario (which I don't think currently happens with being able to level all skills), it is certainly needed, at least somewhat. That's my opinion on Nexus Crafting and Professions. For regions and raids, I don't have much of an opinion on, as I play a Halfling so I just have perms to a predetermined area. However, when things get heated with other groups, we end up on the receiving end of many Raids, which we can't reasonably defend against while sticking with the idea of a Halfling.
  3. Gurnthing comes across the posting while perusing the notice board in Petrus, and considers the offer. He pins a reply underneath the original posting. "How much redstone ore ya got? And would ya be willing to trade fer it, perhaps in leather? Ya can contact me with a bird to Gimblewood er pin a note to this un." Satisfied with his offer, goes off to explore other wares.
  4. Fishing nets can be crafted with 2 rope and 6 string using a Tinkers Post as a Clumsy or higher Tinkerer. Also, the cooking time of potatoes seems to be messed up, as it takes longer to cook than the time in the Cauldron indicates.
  5. You have to make sure you are using a fishing hook made after the update as it is a different item. I am unsure if the string or sticks matter (don't think they do) but the fishing hook does.
  6. You need a home? Join an existing settlement! There's tons of them! You want food? Buy some! Lots of places sell it, not to mention if you followed the first step and joined a settlement, chances are there's a farmer there already. Need to cook food? Look at step 2 again! Want to be alchemist now? Go right ahead, because you must have happened to not use the updated plugin at all, as there is no negative xp.
  7. Also ignore my comment about negative skills being reset, once you select a profession the negatives get set back to 0.
  8. Can the negative skill values be set back to 0 now? It will be a pain to bring skills up from the negative 1000's. We'll be looking into perhaps doing this - for now it doesn't negatively impact you unless you want to train the negative skills up.
  9. Unfortunately it can't be done without forcing everybody to install a mod, so not going to happen :/
  10. And I'd wager you have never farmed. Or cut wood. Or smelted metal. Or cooked food. Or bred animals.
  11. Would it be possible to put the player back where they were before sitting in the stair/seat? Because then it would be absolutely impossible to climb walls. And I'm glad you're looking into bringing the plugin back Freya.
  12. Hmm, let's see. You think humans are at a disadvantage in PvP? Let's look at halflings for a moment. No PvP bonus, no power in numbers (one of the smallest races on the server), and guess what, a PvP debuff. So yeah, I think we're being "realistic", not to mention humans don't actually get a PvP disadvantage, just no advantage. Try not to have a victim complex. Also what Freya said is incredibly true and important.
  13. Well now that Sporadic has given under the pressure of the biggest race on the server and given humans a PvP buff, can we discuss if it is fair for them to have arguably the best PvE bonus? They can level all skills two higher then any other race while not picked as a profession. At the same time they get a +5% xp bonus at all times. Also, is it possible for halflings to do higher damage with shovels? Not the same as a sword as it takes less materials and halflings aren't a fighting people, but more than a regular shovel. Since the whole purpose of this plugin is supposed to support RP traits with In-Game bonuses, I feel that this would be appropriate. Thanks, and great work Sporadic, Freya, tech team and dev team.
  14. ((Oh didn't know that, with all the talk going around about having a vote, I thought something like that happened. Thanks for the info.))
  15. ((I meant more the fact that I wasn't involved with making the decision, but I'm just looking forward to being back today.))
  16. ((Can I have your burrow? Just kidding, hope you feel better, take your time to mend.))
  17. ((Darn, I am out of town right now :( Well, congrats anyways))
  18. Gurnthing reads the note pinned on the noticed board, and ponders the idea. After some time, he takes out some paper and writes a reply. "Although I have no authority in the matter, I believe, that for no reason in particular, we should hold off said elections (assuming they happen) for at least another 6 days." Gurnthing pins his reply underneath the original note, and heads back to his duties on the fields. ((I'm assuming it is on the board, because that is where something like this would be put, and the original thread was on the board))
  19. Actually, it takes nearly no skill at all. I had never been on a horse before, and I was able to ride one at fair speeds within the few hours I was on one. Sure, combat on a horse, riding at extreme speeds, and jumping are for the more experienced, but it really isn't hard to get down the basics.
  20. So Telanir, with 1.7 coming out, are you going to be fixing the net as you said earlier? Not to mention the plethora of new biomes and and sub-biomes, will you be reorganizing/adding new fish to fit with all the new ones? Just wondering, keep up the great work!
  21. Although this is mostly true (except for the fact that they might have picked up a few minas from a zombie on the way), it was exactly this way with the last system of IConomy. And even considering this fact, you can just go through the RP of getting robbed/robbing then pay the robber whichever amount. They only difference is that you don't physically throw the minas.
  22. No offense, but did you even read the post? It says exactly this: Unlocked "vaults"? Stealing up to 1,000 minas, also considering the value of the mina also got bumped up a bit the the update? Does this all "kill any theft/robberyRP"?
  23. I don't believe it needs to be a double chest, although I may be wrong, but now, you have to use a sing right above it saying [vault]. There is no other way, at least at the moment.
  24. Well my train of thought was that 1) A vault is supposed to be, although hidden too, locked, and that is pretty much its whole purpose 2) If you live in a communal area, such as I do with the bunks of the Lances of Oren, it can be easily stole from by any random person 3) Allows for banks and the such, although I guess that could work with just getting a player with access to LWC to lock the door to the area. Also, since you are a Bedrock VIP, do VIPs get unlimited LWC items, or do you have a specified amount?
  25. ((Don't call them emeralds, they are minas, and also try to use words such as "a chest full" "a bag of" and the such instead of plain numbers like 117))
