  1. Grand King Indago Stormhammer wonders how everyone in his kingdom know about this. Do they go through his mail? Apart from that, the king eventually writes a letter back to in which it came. "If you desire peace, it is you to lead the way."
  2. Grand King Indago stares at Aldal. In silence he gives a simple nod, as hid beard moves as he does this. Escaping from his beard, gold dust sprinkles to the floor glistening from the dim light of the halls. Slowly he turns around releasing a grunt as he wished well for the new High Prophet.
  3. Grand King Indago hears the message, his eyes lighting up. AH! Seems t'e people 'ave found t'e message wit'in. 'Oweveh, w'at does t'is mean? 'To Find the Beast Within?' Shall it be regarding a creature uv terror? W'ere would one hoide in t'ese lands?
  4. A Code is Revealed Dwarven Antagonist Under the orders of Ondnarch, Ierinter, the commander of the Abuldtez, readied his minions in the caves of Barbek. Emerging from the ground, Ierinter lead his followers out of the earth, and entering the stone caves. Ordering his men out, Ice Broods escaped within the village of Barbek, attacking those who linger within. The mortals fought the horde of undead, then seeing the brute. Ierinter made his way through the pack, charging his enemies. His hands could slice a man in half, from the ice he was created with. The guards of the city, wielding claymores and swords fought the beast that invaded their homeland. Dwarves, mighty in size were able to defend the blows of the warrior, shattering his arms in shards of ice. Shattering everywhere, the ice pierced the minions of Ondnarch, and the mortals defending his conquest. Quickly, the minions fled as quickly as they came, while their master laid shattered and deceased. It was at this moment, the surviving villagers and dwarves looted the land of items the minions possessed. Buried beneath the ice of his breast, Ierinter contained a tome, that had letters inscribed upon it. Using axes, the dwarves shattered the formed ice of his attacker, and burrowed their way to the tome. After much effort, they were able to pull the sheet of rock from the coldness of Ierinter. Those who studied it, did not understand the message, as it seemed coded in a way. Taking out parchments, they tried to research the mysterious scripture but they could not. Thinking, they came with the idea that it was indeed coded of the common tongue. The tome contains knowledge of secrecy, that only the wisest can figure out it’s message. Quickly, the remembrancers sent letters out to nations all across Anthos, written upon them is the code. The dwarves wish for help, to find the secrets these beast hide within our lands. [Reply if you can figure it out] Have Fun!
  5. As the crowd gathers beneath his podium, Grand King Indago looks around, making sure none are making fun of how he looks. Assured that all are his obediant followers, Indago begins his speech. ”Aftah da remuval ov Lurd Dominic Irungut, ah ‘ave serch’d lung an hurd fer ah membeh ovoor kengdum tu replayc ‘im un da lurd’s cooncil. Afteh serchin wifin ‘is oon clun, ah foond meh choice. Da dwurv whu will replayce ‘im is Fariken Irongut, ah formeh High Remembranceh an diplomat ov da Kengdum. Ah ‘ope Fariken will represen oor kengdum well an breng honeh tu Yemekar an da Brafmordakin.” Taking a last look around, Indago claps for himself before wandering off of the stage.
  6. Grand King Indago reads through the letter a few times, reading every word inscribed within the letter. Thinking about the meaning, he decides to take the letter and fold it up in thirds, Opening up his beard, he stuffs the letter inside it, and closes it back up. He feels in a way that his citizens elected him to sit upon the throne, if a clan disagrees, they must hate the rest of his brethren. Mumbling to himself, he mutters: "Let t'e Gold'ands return strong, if t'ey steh loyal tu t'ere kingdom, it is without a doubt t'ey will be able to reform t'e t'ings t'at need tu beh changed. T'ough, it must beh uv t'e 'eat uv anger, t'at t'ey 'aven't t'ought uv wehs in which gaining t'e respect from t'e dwarves around t'em."
  7. The Polls are closed. The results are... Fariken Irongut: 2 Fimlin Grandaxe: 5 Grungron Irongut: 4 Congratulations to Fimlin Grandaxe, may he do well in his new position of duty.
  8. I believe that it wasn't directly focused on that no one could obtain iron, now there are public mines in most areas so all you do is hit down a tree and grab some wood then you got iron.
  9. Ideas for the Success of the Server The Point of View of Spuller =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Welcome to one of my more serious posts focusing upon the subject of the future of our server. I just want to note, after reading this, I’d like for you, the reader, to answer the poll questions above with all seriousness. If you ever need to tell the community something and want people to actually listen, you have to post it on the forums and so I ask that trolls leave now and so we can get started. Note: This post was not intended in to impress by length, but to fully explain my opinions. To introduce myself, I am Travis Spuller or as many of you know me as xSPULLERx. That’s fine to. Currently I uphold the position as Grand King of Urguan, or just the people in Dwarven lands. I’ve been playing on the server for well over a year and a half and nearing my second year in just a few months. It’s exciting that I am just recently accepted upon the staff after trying for seven months, but now I am welcomed to the ET. Thanks Firespirit and I can’t wait to get to work! Now you have an idea of my background, you will get an understanding of my viewpoint. I am writing this post to the community for two reasons. 1) Bring up current issues that mostly are known, or maybe not. 2) To discuss about what I feel the server needs for it’s success in the future. It is no secret that a rival server has sprung up next to us. That name being kept to the side, it has recently brought troubles to the server affecting everyone, indirectly or directly. I am not rejecting of it’s not a threat to the community, though like all new thing I had to see how things work in a whole new realm. I just want to note, I did not find the server greater than one we’ve worked so hard to make in LOTC. I want to say a thank-you to the players that are loyal to what they grew up in and hanged in with the community even after some rough times. To avoid a love fest, I’ll just hop into the issues, shall we? Issues in Lord of the Craft: 1. Our Once Beautiful Lands Let’s admit it, Minecraft is a boring game that is on its decline, losing players to new games like... GTA5? Anyways, everyone has done EVERYTHING! in Minecraft. Cutting down their first tree to making server with friends and making magic cities. If you haven’t done everything you possibly can in Minecraft, an update may of just came out. My point is, lord of the craft is unique because it’s a roleplay server. A good one. When I look at the trailers, I see these beautiful lands, with streams and majestic trees. Now... I can’t go two blocks without hitting a fence or building or a player saying GET OFF MY LAND! I’m not sure why we unreasoned the lands, mostly the dwarf lands because it makes the server unapealing. It looks like any other server really. What happened to purchasing land from it’s owners and making it to the decision of the royalty? I am working so terribly hard in maintaining our beautiful mountains. Just recently, we had an event at Kal’Azgoth, a regioned area, and someone stated, “Man! The Dwarven lands are awesome.” Because it’s pretty. I ask that we get rid of these land scarers, because let’s face it, we’re not the best of builders. It makes lands more appealing, and attracts more people to homes within capitals where they belong. Also, it’s what we need for our capital. 2. Land Placement Land placement, what do you mean of this Travis? Well, I’m glad you ask. Ever since day one on entering the new world, the dwarves get the farthest and out of the way lands there is. Though actually, that’s fine. What isn’t fine, is that 95% of the populations lives north from the river that splits the south and north. What sense does it make currently that the dying race of Dwarves had fifty percent of the land? I don’t even know what to do with it! Orcs, come back please, I miss you in the desert. I wish the player base didn’t abandon us in the south and leave us to suffer the loneliness, like the lone mountain. Now what I am thrilled for is how we are one of the nations closest to spawn in 4.0 and I’d like to thank the staff for doing that. Though, I just wanted to note the issue that occurred and want to make note of it. We shouldn’t have this occur again. 3. Technical Issues Just want to make this short and brief. I get messages from new players frequently saying, that they can’t connect. Please, make the address stable, and keep it that way. The tech team is doing a great job with updates however, and showing improvements from this summer after we were left afloat of months without a plugin. (Can we get to 1.7.2 already?) 4. Alliances and Friendships Before I end the issues, I want to acknowledge that the community in general are attacking one another. We can be quite mean to those in other races, and I think those who are reading knows who you are. I should note, we are a community, and rp is rp and ooc is a time we can all hang out and talk about our days and have fun. That’s the whole reason right? To have fun. Okay moving on. 5. A Dying Race Most of you probably know this, but Dwarves are down to about five players, and is considered amongst the least popular race in the land of Anthos. It’s an issue that should be addressed with the Admins, that they seem to not worry about population distribution as much. It’s a lot like a cycle, the more leave, people get bored and switch races and keeps dropping, and dropping and dropping. As a player, and newly event team member, I want to put my work into the dwarves, halflings and orcs. Any new races, I ask you please go away, all you do is spread rp and make players leave. Desired Actions to Improve the Server 1. Limit Supplies If you get anything out of the post, this is what I’d like the reader to take. The server gets boring, especially for old players because we have all this stuff. I can proudly say I have 20 stacks of iron and 10 stacks of gold and ect... but what else am I suppose to do with it? I never need to go mining, go farming, pay workers, do rp stuff because everything I have is in my home. Named items have become useless now since I have so much of it. In minecraft servers, after you obtain the strongest armour and materials, you about quit the world/server. The server has made it soooo easy to obtain stuff, that everything is worthless. Thus, economy is terrible! Bread is less than a mina! What’s the point in selling it. Well you don’t need to sell it, just go farm for 2 minutes and you're good for a week. To keep the server fresh, make surviving a struggle, and have it so you need to work hard, and actually rp to get supplies. 2. Skills! Going along the previous topic, I strongly encourage the return of skills. Why did it even go? All my IRL friends left the server after skills were removed. I’m not asking for something complicated, just so there is a need people and/or nations need to work together to obtain stuff. War means nothing because nations don’t benefit from each other. What should happen is that for example, humans go to war with dwarves, humans will lack precious gems, while dwarves may suffer from food? Or medicines. This will make the server 100 times better. 3. Return the Feeling of Lord Of The Rings I believe overtime, the server has strained away from the theme of middle earth toward medieval. Even though they’re similar, we’ve lost a lot of fantasy aspects. Many races do not even follow the lore anymore, including the dwarves. Mostly curses, for instances humans are living for 1000 years, while elves have babies every few days or so. Dwarves have somehow allied with orcs, when we have the hatred for them passed down from our predecessors. Other than this, everyone is rich in this server. There is no such thing as a peasant. (Refraining from topic 1) Peasants can have no education to gather resources and be rich. What I am trying to state is that the server follow the lore we all signed up for. The lore writers did a great job, because it is unique and interesting. 4. A New Website Having the same website can be bad at sometimes if it hardly changes over long periods of time. I want to note, this is a game, not long lists of text that make a user confused and lost. There are no graphics, and interesting things on the website. I’ll link two websites that are visually pleasing. There should be large buttons saying “Lore”, and “Apply”. Instead the best thing we got is a one great trailer (It’s really good) and paragraphs of text. It’s not pleasing. The format looks like we went to webs.com and bought a domain name. The following websites are of course really well done, but the general format is what I’d like to be aimed for. http://www.uthrandir.com/ http://www.thehobbit.com/ 5. Staff Hangouts and Livestreams We’re a community. We rarely celebrate it. I’ve made friends I wouldn’t mind playing hours on end with on a fantasy roleplay server with. I’d like to meet the other races as well and get to know my neighbors (Though Dwarven RP is suffering and it needs me). We need more ooc events where we can just chillax and get to know each other. This will improve the community greatly. 6. 4.0 Ideas Before I end this post, I am highly concerned of 4.0. The staff has hit the mark with bring everything closer, and unregioning the main area, and leave the ugliness for the outside. Though the capitals will be a disaster. I know people will say it makes more rp sense for a nation to build it as they please, though that will take months of just work, and usually no rp for several players. Let’s be honest, only 4-5 people from each race will spend countless hours building and gathering, while players wait for the city to be built. When we all rush into the new map and there’s nothing, I fear that will just ruin the stamina the server is having. I can tell you one thing, making dwarven cities suck because we’re not as lucky to build into the air. We have to mine the open air and with our small population already, no one will want to go to our half built colony. I believe everyone will just run off to the humans because they can just build a small house and start rping. Elves will have a hard time as well. If they ever wanted to build something like we have in Anthos, it won’t look nice. Now let me clear something up, I don’t want to see wonderful, complete finish masterpieces like Kal’Azgoth. We couldn’t expand and it was too large for our population. But, if we had nothing, races will be not visually attractive. Everything else in 4.0 is actually really thought out, and has a great potential for succeeding, though if we want a world to fit the community. Then let the community build that world. I’d like to thank those who powered through this post, and would like to mention I may update some replies with more opinions of mine. I didn’t make this post to tell you what’s right and what’s wrong. I made it to share my ideas, not I want to hear yours. Do you guys agree with me? Please do the poll on the top of the post so I can see how the rest of the community feels. All that is left to say is see you in the land of Anthos. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
