  1. Names? Æther Why? Because it's Greek and sounds freakin cool. (Æther is the material that the sky is made out of, in case you were wondering :P)
  2. The Ac'talaran Public Laboratory has lab space open for reservation.

  3. *Posters are found in Ac'talareh, Lenniel, most of Malinor, and several other major cities.* The Ac’talaran Public Laboratory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alchemy) It is to be noted by every scientist and magician that The Ac’talaran Public Laboratory is soon to be in construction in the ruins of Ac’talareh and that lab space, and perhaps resources, are available for reservation. In order to reserve space for yourself, simply contact the one known by the name “Cyrus”, the Lab Manager ((or reply to this thread)). Lab space will be allotted according to the logical amount of space needed to perform a certain study, the usefulness of the study, and, at times, the urgency of the study. Upon requesting space, one will be expected to adhere to the Lab Rules of Conduct, lest their lab space be reassigned and their living body be donated to The Matron’s studies. Do note that upon consideration, a letter will be sent directly to the person making the request. Tayna' Maehr'onn. Lab Rules of Conduct I. Do not cause any form of injury to any sentient being within lab space unless the being gives full (sober) consent to giving their bodies to the study. II. The reanimation of corpses will receive a smack on the hand. The lab manager doesn't mind, but The Matron will be mad. III. Do not copy research from others without their (sober) consent, unless your name is written in with the research group. IV. Ruining, tampering, or otherwise touching research that is not yours will result in non-consensually taking part in The Matron’s studies. V. A copy of every study must be submitted to the Lab Manager to be stored in a vault as backup, in case something tragic were to happen to all of your documentation. Official Request of Lab Space: *((Mc Name)): *Name: *Project Idea: *Amount of Lab Space Requested: Possible Resources Requested: *Why This Project Should be Considered: Additional Members Involved in This Project: *required entries
  4. Upon hearing the news, Cyrus strides deep into the forests of Malinor, mumbling to himself most of the way. Among the things he says, one is "May the powers that be protect us all..."
  5. Cyrus turns to Smoke "Tea. If you mean alcohol, then I do not drink." He also wonders what a 'forum RP' is and why he even thought of such a compilation of words in his current circumstance.
  6. "Things have been generally well, llir." Cyrus says. "I would appreciate it to hear of your adventures in your absence some time."
  7. Yeah... having a character named Odolf who commits mass genocide... not seeing its correlation to Adolf Hitler is a bit dull of someone. People might take offense, as Hitler did some pretty bad shiz. Just find a more tasteful name, and you're good as gold. Or silver if you prefer that stuff.
  8. Cyrus strides up the stairs to see that Seyer has returned. Approaching him, Cyrus says "My, my we have an old face here. How have you been, Mr Reeyse?"
  9. *a note has been tacked to a poster* "I will pay no more than 500 Minas for such a tome, unless it is encrusted with gems and lined with gold. ~Cyrus"
  10. Yeah.... these broadcasts about who votes has gotta go...

  11. I love LotcBC :P it keeps me out from under my rock. Keep it up edit: Cultist voice too low pitched :3
  12. After an interesting conversation with a man about the stories of where their scars came from, a man hand-delivers his application to the Delvers to the front gate. Cyrus, who is conveniently in the gateroom, takes the app and strides down the stairs to his room, where he may address this application along with any others that may be there. Two additional applications lay in wait as Cyrus sits down at his desk. Lighting a nearby candle, Cyrus begins reading the letter he is holding. Upon finishing, he writes upon blank parchment: 'Dear Mr Maendir, Your application was... interesting to read indeed, but it was found acceptable in my eyes. I was unsure whether I should accept this one, but decided to on account of your pending apprenticeship and the... imagination and specificity of your artifact. Upon reading this letter, I expect you to find a Regent so that you may inquire upon what task you will be given for initiation. Do not disappoint, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' Cyrus seals the letter with hot wax upon finishing a rather rushed scrawl, and picks up the older letter there. In response, he writes: 'Dear Mr Xulore Ardere, it is a pleasure to see another Ardere enter our fold, as I expect you to be much like a possible relative of yours, Mr Mythras Ardere. Nonetheless, your application was found to be acceptable. Please make your way to Ac'talareh where you will be given one last test of loyalty before you are inducted officially. Until then, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' Cyrus wipes sweat off of his brow, finishing the next letter. He then moves on to the final letter. A small smile appears on his face as he reads, then begins to pen this response: 'Dear Mr Kristian von Craw, After meeting you in person, it was already apparent that you would make a good part in this guild. Your application confirmed this idea, and I look forward to seeing you around more. As part of ritual, I ask you to seek out a Regent to ask what your initiation task is before you are officially inducted. Much luck to you, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' Cyrus then seals the last of the letters and blows out the candle. He walks up to the aviary, where birds would be sent to the respective recipients. He then travels back downstairs and heads toward the dining hall to brew himself some hot tea.
  13. Cyrus approaches the poster, and his eyebrows furrow as he reads it. Placing his hand on his belt, he keeps a light grip upon a knife there. "Goodness..." He mumbles "An era of trouble is truly upon us."
  14. As Cyrus mopes about inside of his room, thinking about his life and other general things that people do when they feel sorry for themselves, a Ranger enters and sets two letters upon his desk. Cyrus looks up, then slides the letters in front of himself, and breaks the seal of the first letter. After reading it, he pens his first response 'Dear Mr Bergamot, Your interest in enchantments intrigues me, and I'm sure some mutually beneficial relationship can be reached. You application has been found acceptable. Though there is no specific rank we could likely give you, I suppose a simple title, 'Delver', would suffice. All that you must now do is to approach the ruins of Ac'talareh and receive your task of initiation from a Delver with the rank of 'Regent'. Once you have proven yourself loyal and not ill-willed with this task, you will be inducted into our fold, and practically all the information you seek should be at your fingertips should you simply ask. I look forward to meeting you in person, but until then, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' Upon finishing his response, Cyrus folds the letter neatly, then seals it with red wax. He then moves on to the next application. His eyebrows furrow as he reads it and pulls a parchment from his stack of blank papers to pen a response. "Dear Mr Nym Vala, After reading your application, I have come to the verdict that it is not up to the standards that I would expect. It was not a simple task, but the decision has been made on account of one thing; the last response of your application. The description of your ideal artifact was rather confusing to me. All that is required is that you submit a second application that answers that question with more clarity, then I'm sure you will be accepted. Until then, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' Cyrus puts down his pen and folds the letter, enclosing within a blank application. He then seals it with wax, and picks up the other envelops along with it. Feeling particularly lazy, Cyrus calls for a nearby Ranger to run these responses up to the aviary. As the Ranger departs, Cyrus goes back to sit in his chair and assess his life once more.
  15. If more people begin to play Kha, then I can have RP whenever I go on my alt! Yay! This is a good decision for the race imo :)
  16. ((Please Keep OOC Away From The Guilds And Organizations Section. This is technically an RP section of our forums.)) Cyrus returns to Ac'talareh after a very long walk. He enters his room, hands still shaking from witnessing the killing of those he thought redeemable. Out of the corner of his eye, a singular letter was identified to be upon his desk. He mumbles to himself "This life never ends..." and he walks over to investigate it. He breaks the seal with his thumb, and unfolds the parchment to read it. He practically tosses it to the side and retrieves blank parchment from a stack he has near the side of his desk. He writes this response: 'Dear Mr Crineas Acosta, I have reviewed your application and found it interesting, but acceptable nonetheless. Your answer to the third question intrigued me the most, and definitely was the most creative response that I have yet seen. And because of this, your application into the Arcane Delvers is hereby accepted. Before you are inducted into our fold, you have one more task. To receive this task, I ask of you to seek out one ranked 'Regent' within the ruins of Ac'talareh and he or she shall grant you your task. I wish you the best of luck in this- until then, ~Cyrus, Regent of Mana' As Cyrus signs the letter, he pauses for a moment. The crosses out his title, mumbling "Pretentious." Cyrus then begins crossing out more things in the letter, still mumbling things akin to "Useless" and "Ridiculous" until nearly all of the letter is crossed out. He sighs irritably, and folds the letter as is and seals it with wax. The letter is then walked up to the aviary where it would be sent back to Crineas. Cyrus shuffles back to his room and rests his face upon his hands as he sits back at his desk. He exhales irritably once more, and slowly drifts off into much-needed sleep on the hard stone of his workspace.
  17. Good explanation. Spellswords we warned.
  18. Cyrus peers over the shoulder of a fellow Delver who seems to be reading an invitation to give Drake free things. He raises his eyebrows in surprise to see that it was not at all an invitation to a party. He then walks away, questioning the purpose of the letter, while the randomly selected Delver ponder why Cyrus was peering over his/her shoulder.
  19. Cyrus returns to his room after assessing the damage dealt to Ac'talareh after a recent attack. He finds a stack of letters upon his desk there, all of them applications. "Goodness" he mumbles "it seems that someone found out that I deal with applicants." He breaks the seal of the first letter and reads over the paper, and begins to write a response upon a blank parchment. It reads 'Dear Mr Faltrezan Greyleaf, After reading your application, it became apparent to me your desire to make better your life. This letter is sent to you as to admit you into the fold of the Delvers, that you might improve your current situation. One last step remains; that you should approach the ruins of Ac'talareh and recieve your initation task. Asking any member with the rank 'Regent' should get you well on your way for your task. Hopefully you will find a family within us soon, ~Regent of Mana, Cyrus' Upon finishing one letter, he seals it with wax, and works on the next letter at his desk. Upon reading it, his eyebrows furrow slightly and he pens this response: 'Dear Mr Delzio Alor, Your study of the Men of Ender intrigues me, as well as the fact that you share my thirst for knowledge. However, I have found your application... less than what I would want to accept. Here is why: First, you said you value communication within a guild, but answer the final question, and I quote, "Perhaps this should be answered when you know me better." I find this quite a lack of communication, and therefore contradictory. It would also be noted, secondly, that we would require an answer for that question, instead of a comment. Therefore, I can only urge you to rewrite your application, fixing the errors that I have detailed to you. Until then, ~Regent of Mana, Cyrus' With this letter, Cyrus encloses a blank application, then seals it with wax. He places it aside to review the last letter of the stack. Reading this particular letter, Cyrus smiles slightly and pens a response 'Dear Mr Elogan Tuft, While reading your letter, I had the pleasure to be introduced to a man who enjoys the history of the land, a man of curiosity and appreciation for the works of the ancients. You seem akin to the kind of members that the Delvers wish to seek, and therefore your application has been found acceptable. The only task keeping you from official initiation is that of receiving your task of entry. You must find the ruins of Ac'talareh and ask for a member ranked 'Regent' so that you may request what this task will be. I look forward to meeting you in person, ~Regent of Mana, Cyrus' Finally penning this last letter, Cyrus seals it and carries the stack of replies to the aviary, where each letter would be sent off to its rightful owner. Some would be excited at the news sent, and others perhaps disappointed. Whatever the case may be, Cyrus returns into the depths of the ruins to observe whatever activity may be buzzing within.
  20. Cyrus leaves a small note upon the poster "It should be noted that one should at least leave their full name upon the poster if one wishes to gain trust among prospective sellers."
  21. Cyrus holds his head low over his desk, still recovering from his broken nose. Since he had entered his room, he had really done nothing but stare at the cracked stone of his desk. As he runs his finger along a crack, something catches the corner of his eye. An unfamiliar paper lies there- in fact it was an application. "Mr Koldor..." He mumbles to himself, his eyes scanning over the parchment. Then, he sets the paper down and draws a blank one from the blank stack beside him. He pens 'Dear Mr Koldor, Your application has been reveiwed and found acceptable. I admire particularly the last answer that you gave, seeing as not much is known about the land that we inherited. Nonetheless, you are now to report to our humble ruins of Ac'talareh, where you will be given an initiation task. We expect to see you soon. Until then, may you fare well and may yours be the path of good fortune. ~Cyrus' Upon finishing the letter, he waves it in the air to dry the fresh ink. Then, he folds it neatly and seals it with a bit of melted wax. Later that day he would take it to the aviary and send it back to Koldor.
  22. Cyrus rubs the bridge of his nose as well, but stops, wincing at the pain of its brokenness. He tries to look Artimec straight in the eyes "I will consider your warning... but now I have to clear my name. By now I'm sure all residents of Ac'talareh believe that I'm a necromancer or some kind of user of the Dark Arts..." He then leans down and picks up the blood-dropped papers, leaving the corpse behind as he begins to shuffle toward the stairs of the crypt. "Worry not, Mr Camoryn, I'll clean the body up later..." he says, before ascending up the stairway out of the crypt.
